They were afraid people would be somehow injured by misinformation in a board game review from one of the most family friendly channels in the history of the internet. I left a long and disgusted feedback to youtube about their unwelcome practice of guardrail bullying. Also...great review guys!

Got the Kickstarter version of the game and I think its quite fun, especially the action tile board. The only negative I would say (besides minor balance issues) is the communication of the company, I am still waiting more then a month now for prelude cards that were missing from my copy of the game and their support stopped replying two weeks ago.

Played this - I'd agree on the box being too big and some odd production choices. That said the game itself is fantastic and a ton of fun.

Hello to everyone and thanks for the video. I want your opinion how you find the player interaction in the game? Is there a possible catch up if a player take the lead cause battles doesn't loose anything and the only benefit you take from them are the vp if you win. If a player builds 5 settlements and take 5points per 2 turn how you can catch him? You have more experience than me so i appreciate your opinion Thanks a lot

I'm a bit confused by Joey's explanation of his rating. He says he is giving it an 8 because it was not the game he thought he was going to play. Did he knock off points, or add points because of it. And also, why not just rate the game for what it is, and not based the assumption he made before playing it.
@thedicetower
@thedicetower 8 ай бұрын
Hey! It wasn't about adding or subtracting points as much as it was the fact that the game played differently than I thought it would. However I ended up probably liking it more than if it was just another dudes on a map like I thought it was going to be and had these great unique puzzles and mechanics. Thoughts on how a game may play before playing it doesn't effect the rating, but it just is what it is. I always rate on the actual gameplay. However in this case, I guess you can call the great mechanics and puzzle aspect of balancing getting those gods out and other rewards, a pleasant surprise! -- Joey

I played the game at Essen and really liked it but the horrible production quality put me off from buying it. And it is not just the cardboard which is questionable and too thin. The quality of the miniatures ist just horrible. Ridiculously cheap plastic. Cranio Creations really need to up their game here. Not sure what is driving it, whether this is commercial pressures or that the people behind it just don’t appreciate component quality (by the way, the same applies to Delicious Games). Many heavy gamers which they target as their customers have too many games anyway. So the last thing they need is a cheaply produced game ! Hence a pass for me, purely based on the low component quality.

I was actually considering this but Wendy saved me a dud purchase: "I have a bigger army than you, significantly, and yet I still might not win." Defying the odds is what I love about games - uncertainty, risk, daring, the chance that victory may not be with the bigger battalion but the better soldiers, or simply up to the whim of fate. You know, kind of like actual conflict. I was so hopeful for this one. That's all right, Risk 2210 is still great.

You only like combat if you always win if you have a bigger force?
@inwyrdn3691
@inwyrdn3691 8 ай бұрын
@@TabletopFamily I don't, not at all. Wendy said she wanted to guarantee she won if she had a bigger force. I hate that mechanic, and deterministic combat in general. She stated something along the lines of she wanted to (I believe her phrase was) "Math it out" or something like that to make victory a foregone conclusion, and that this was possible in the game. That kills the entire game for me. (Rereading my comment, I see the issue. Thanks, I'll clarify.)

I'll say that you can choose to only start a battle you're mathematically guaranteed to win but those aren't all that often because you don't know the weapons cards opponents are holding. The guarantee only comes at a highly inefficient battle. That being said, this is a game where there might not be a lot of battles, so it might not be what you're looking for. -Chris

To be clear, there is still a hidden element to combat, but it isn't random. I can go into battles now knowing if I will win or lose, or I can beef up my army enough that I can't lose. If that still doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then glad to help you unshop I guess. 🤷‍♀ -Wendy
