This is a very personal video and was very hard for me to decide to upload. I suffer from anxiety disorder and a few days ago I suffered from a panic attack that formed in a way I have never felt before, and captured it happening on camera.
My neck, mouth muscles, shoulders, and upper back began to tighten - it was very painful and I was unable to continue vlogging. I called my Dr. and explained my symptoms. My doctor told me that I was suffering from a panic attack commonly known as Globus Hystericus I researched more on the internet and found so much information that was text book on what was happening.
Good news, I feel better - I got much needed rest and haven't had it happen again.
My hopes in sharing this is to reach out to my Mommawedel Family. If you suffer from this type of anxiety attack you are not alone.
UPDATE TO ANXIETY VIDEO IS UPLOADED - HERE IS THE LINK

Lion - actually a panic attack is usually one or the other, but both are associated with panic attacks. You either "know" you're dying without a doubt, or you "know" you're going insane without a doubt. I've experienced both versions, and I don't know which was worse, they are both terrifying experiences....

Lion when I have panic attacks, it always starts with my face going numb on my left side and slowly moving down my body, and I start to think I'm having a stroke and *literally* begin to panic because I think I'm dying. That's when the hyperventilating starts and all the other fun stuff associated with them. They're called *panic* attacks because they cause you to panic (the actual definition of panic, not the "panic" people throw around loosely.)

Joeys Bestfriend hey just had one myself feels dodgy! I had my first attack early November from abit of weed what I quit in the summer I had half of one and had four massive attacks one after the other, first one I wondered what was happening it struck my like a shock! I felt like my body from my life side was goin into a stroke made jump up from my seat watching tele and went towards my kitchen. my eyesight also went yellow and I was dizzy I thought I was going to cringe up and die I even grab my girlfriend which scared her to bits. would say the first one was big and small ones came shortly after than the last one was the biggest thought my life was over as I went to the floor holding my partner she called for the emergency services as I was losing my breathing and my body towards my chest started to go warm and my heart beating fast. the emergency services came and put me on the gas&air telling me to take deep breaths, in matter of a second I started to feel normal and was later told it was a panic attack which shocked me I've never had nothing like that in my life, I also felt little stupid towards them after. after that which I felt at the time of the attack the burning I can feel at side of my head at my temple but just now&again, 2 weeks ago which was a month after the attacks was at a friends house drinking most of the night and they was a few people with weed once again which I stopped but was passed to me so just had a couple of burns of it and gave it back, soon as that started to kick in from it was straight attacks to I felt normal from the weed, my head burning, heart racing fast, eye sight yellow and the warm feeling in my body but I could feel my body go into panic also thought of crazy things too like I'm going to lose my family or my partner even my dog want nice would say they want as big as before but kept running one after the next. really slight feeling. I been Ok since then till today about over a hour ago, yesterday I was at family's for Xmas ate food drank wine allday with a few beers I would say I didn't have much suger to be honest, I woke up this morning hungover little with my mouth little dry so had little coke-cola drink would say half also 2 cups of tea with each one 2 sugers. over hour ago I had little heartburn to start than the burning feeling in my temple my jaw feels like its goin on one side which is the same side as my temple and down my neck that side too. my heart goin the same with warm feeling my eyesight little dodgy but not yellow. each time this feels like I'm having a stroke starting to scare me now really bad I just feel my body is going to just go and I'm going to die its crazy! each time them attacks happen its more in my head and my jaw gos, thats without touching any of the weed now and just come on as normal, would say with the weed has been the baddest I've been like my body won't have it with the attacks on top other than that they are sight ones but not nice my doctor won't even listen to me about it too which is a joke. I had a op in April which was for a hernia in my groin close to my private parts which I know now played a big part with my hormones so not sure if it down to that. I had hernia their for over 10 years and didn't know what it was, each year it got bad from 2004 and all I did was go to my doctors about feeling something there but was pushed away each time was a long story on top of everything I've said so won't go into it much but I've only just starting to feel better from it and was slow healing. ive had 3 doctors in 10 years but looks like I will be moving again. the attacks can't workout if it from operation, or with being a bad year on top too had lots on my mind but they just coming out the blue now getting scared about now.

Joeys Bestfriend yes! And it always freaks me out because ofcourse it's on the left side. Why can't the numbness or tingling be on my right side?? Actually experiencing it right now and having a hard time convincing myself that I'm not have a stroke/heart attack. The ONLY reason I know I'm not having a stroke or heart attack is if I busy myself with something else, I forget the symptoms and they "go away" but soon as my mind comes back to it, I will gradually feel the tingling the numbness, the cold sweats, etc.. And symptoms from a heart attack or stroke don't just "go away" Atleast that's what I tell myself. Lol. Usually helps 😊

liz scott Same for me! I had one yesterday. 😢 It came out of NOWHERE. I felt dizzy all of the sudden and I felt so weird, like I was going to have a heart attack. I literally jumped off the bed and that's when it hit me. I had trouble breathing. The only thing on my mind was, "you're going to have a stroke and die." It felt so real though. The pains on the left side of my chest, the tingling and numbness on my left arm, hands and toes. It was for about 10 minutes. I was locked in my room, so there was no one with me. Once it stopped, I tried to calm down. So I went for a walk with my brother. Once I was calm, the pain went away. Like there was nothing.

There is a lot of self help on the internet. I used to have panic attacks that when having them, made me just want to die and get it over with. I just couldn't handle them. Being in my 70's and never having this before, it scared me. They started probably because I have copd and had some breathing attacks, but certain events would trigger them multiple times daily. I found a video on here from a dr. Michael Norman who explains that they are your body's natural reaction to potential threats and often, false alarms. When you try to fight them, you only make them last longer so his advice is to accept them, talk yourself down by saying you are safe, its just a false alarm and I am not n any danger. After about a week or so, my attacks became shorter and more manageable. I haven't had a panic attack in about a month, even though I have had the beginnings of one several ltimes a day. I have gotten it down to the point where I begin to feel the adrenalin starting to flow and my breathing starts to get a little heavy. I merely talk to myself and tell myself its ok, I am in no danger, and generally can end the attack in about one minute, making it bearable for me. If this doesn't help you, three are many others out there with simlar and even different techniques and I would encourage anyone who suffers to explore as many as you can until you find what works for you.

I have literally never left a comment on KZbin regarding any subject. However, today I watched this video & have chosen to comment in order to possibly help someone know that they are not alone. I suffered with what was deemed a mental disorder in the 60's beginning 1st grade. At the time there were no treatment plans for a patient that young other than medication. Years of searching & hearing I was bipolar went on for what seemed an eternity for me. Though the symptoms lined up with the diagnosis of bipolar I knew that this was not bipolar. After literal years of counseling & every med possible. I was finally introduced to a psychologist that listened as I explained everything for at least the 20th time. This psychologist knew right away the 3 exact diagnosis I was suffering with. 1. Agoraphobia 2. Panic/Anxiety 3. PTSD. My parents were relieved to finally know that now I could receive the proper treatment. I was so grateful to know that at this point I could begin to have a life, my life back again. My treatment plan was working. Day by day I was making progress. Then Nov. 6, 2015, without any warning or symptoms My Mom had a massive stroke & went to be with "JESUS" on Nov. 23, 2015. On Nov. 25th, 2015 at 2:23am I thought I was literally dying. I was rushed to an ER where I was diagnosed with the most massive panic attack I have ever had. I gave up treatment. I care for My Dad, do only what has to be done & passed that I live with my pets in seclusion. If I am not doing something for Dad or what has to be done then I practically live in the cemetery where I can be as close to My Mom as possible. I will pray for you & I applaud you for your bravery to share your experiences about this diagnosis. It certainly can make you feel as though you are going to die. GOD bless you for your courage, strength, honesty & the willingness to help others.

I had to leave my home today & take care of some things for My Dad. i waited until the last minute because I knew in my heart what was going to happen. I reached for the door knob, turn it & walk out. I sat in my car for 20 minutes at the least to get the courage to leave. At present I am in what is diagnosised as an agorapobic episode. It was was triggered by something very sad yesterday. i made it out of the door, got in my car & sat there reasoning with myself to follow through with what had to be done. I was scared to death, but I made it & raced home asap. Once I entered my home I was fine. I feel horrible telling you about myself because there many here that are worse than me. However, please know I am trying this website in hopes of hearing something that will help me. Right now I am holding on with all I that I ever hope to be. My family DOES NOT UNDERDTAND. However, My Mom did & suddenly, very unexpected she is now with "JESUS" I am scared to death. Yet, I said, "I am trying more than ever for My Dad's sake." My Dad is my only reason to keep trying. Bless you all & I will lift us up to "JESUS" in prayer.

Since that moment I feel like I am living in a world where I am constantly fighting back against ever having that feeling again, its exhausting. Marijuana has helped a little and my doctor just prescribed me some anti-anxiety meds. Hoping that gets rid of this constant looming fear.

That’s also my fear as well. That’s why I have anxiety most of the time because that’s my biggest fear because I always want to feel good and normal. I always feel like I’m alone but I remember that there are millions who also have anxiety and are also struggling. We need to stick together and fight with this as much as we can.

Crafty Animals allergic reactions to what you are eating cause this as well. With panic disorder, my heart and my 48 yr old son's heart rate stay the same, but feels like a full blown heart attack! If not diabetes, a stroke, then an allergy to mold? Toxic mold. I have sores from mold spores, had to throw everything out, move! Look it up. See if your symptoms match. I was also bitten by a hobo spider. I must have crushed it. I nearly lost my arm, so I am now arachnophobic. Took 2 years, on my own, to heal it. Looked like hamburger meat. I know how to walk through fear, but my body doesn't. I'm 65, a vegetarian since 1980 & a vegan since bitten July 2014. Now, if that wasn't enough, my granddaughter gave me lice! I have been in a what's called, Bible, " woman turned to salt". I stayed in a continuous attack, for a month, just after that, rashes and bites, STRESS outbreaks. If your body stays in stress, be very careful, stress can take us out, so rest, take small walks

In 23 years of extreme anxiety attacks I have learned this. Hope it helps someone out there. After years of riding the wave of panic it occurred to me one day, nothing else is going to come of this other than the way I feel in that moment. I learned to control my inner reaction to the physical effects I was experiencing. How you feel in the moment of the attack is the result, nothing more. Nothing "ELSE" is going to happen. Reprogram how you react to anxiety. The less you give in, the more control you have and the faster it will be over with. Keep in mind, what you are experiencing is the physical effects of your brain flooding your system with chemicals that say fight or flight. If you take a sleeping aid you feel sleepy. Drink a beer you feel drunk. Have a chemical imbalance in your brain that floods the body with adrenaline and the like and well, you feel anxiety. With practice you will become functional. Today, I can look you right in eyes and have a conversation in the midst of an extreme attack and you wouldn't notice it. Like a functioning alcoholic or drug user. At this point in life it's the closest thing to a cure I have found. I will note, I never had this heath issue until becoming epileptic at the age of 27. Days after my first seizure I experienced my first anxiety attack. It was debilitating and took practice in this new mindset to reverse its control over my life.

Yes this is pretty much what worked for me. I still have a slight anxiety over leaving the house, but can get it over with in a minute or so. Fighting it only intensifies the panic. Understanding that it is a natural reaction and you are in no danger and convincing yourself of that truly helps. I never knew how bad people had it, but many suffer from it and it is a horrible experience to go thru.

Scott Dees - brother, brother, brother ...... I cannot express how similar my life with anxiety attacks is to what you wrote. First attack happened 18yo driving to work on a unlit & dangerous cliffside road on a Sun at 4:30am with litterally nobody else around. This is 32yrs ago and I had NEVER even heard the term "anxiety attack". Suddenly I go into a viscious, non-stop, dry heaving mode which after a few minutes straight began to make the muscles in my chest and throat very sore. I had to take a LOA from work because it went on 24hrs a day for a week until my symptoms finally began to ease up to get a couple hours per day not dry heaving. Obviously you know how every daily task becomes a challenge for many years until, after MANY medication regiments that I tried, when I REALLY thought about the process of it, the "cure" that finally set me free after close to 30yrs of it controlling my life ,,,, was actually within me all along, I just need to find it. Now, I too can be having a pretty significant attack without showing much signs while out in public talking to someone. I want to tell people that during those years I had frequent attacks, the symptoms was continuing to evolve into different type of reaction & even affecting different areas, but the 2 constants were that I was always VERY phisically intense & it happened frequently all year, every year.

i cried watching this. anxiety is something everybody saids they 'suffer from' but unless you've been in PHYSCIAL PAIN to the point where you couldn't talk, you felt nauseous, had uncontrollable shaking, and nervous break downs out of absolutely nowhere then we will talk about what an anxiety attack really is. i've been suffering for atleast 2 weeks now and it's hard to stay positive especially with what i'm going through. all i ask for is support from my family and i can't even get that and i mean the 'world' to them. oh please. i can't even make new friends and keep the ones i have because i'm so insecure. anxiety attacks are so common for me now. hope anyone suffering from anxiety attacks, depression, stress, i pray for you and i hope you make it. you are different for a reason. god made you the way you are, no one else. don't let anyone tell you who to be. sending my love to all struggling.

Katie Ritchie Hello friends! I used to have them! But not any more! We uploaded a video to help people overcome them! Katie and Catherine! You two can watch the video so you can know how to comfort them next time. Perhaps even show them the video! You have to know that panic attacks are literally just a bluff! Not once, ever has a panic attack made their heart explode, made them stop breathing, or give them a black eye or anything! It's literally all in the head! When they realize that, panic attacks become less scary and you start to understand. And when you understand it becomes less scary, because it minimizes the scariness of 'what if', you won't focus on 'what if' any more, you focus on facts such as: Panic attacks are literally just a joke!

bob tucker Hello friend. I have had a few panic attacks, but NOT ANY MORE. Do you still experience them? I have overcome them. I don't get them any more, and COUNTLESS OTHERS do not get them any more from the method that I share which is "Taking them lightly and as a joke"Friend, yes, STRESS can cause ulcers. But panic attack in it of itself do not. Everyone, please do not worry. Don't let one mans unfortunate experience dominate the influence of your imagination on how your life could be. Aside from the being stressed out from many months? Years? Of having panic attacks, then you may get an ulcer FROM STRESS. Panic attacks in it of itself cannot cause physical harm to the body. That is the science and mechanics of panic attacks. It's all in the mind. See? So step 1 to overcome panic attacks is to know that they cannot scratch you, or make your heart explode or bite you. And Bob Tucker, I come in peace, please, I'm not here to cause friction or "be right" or condemn anyone. I just wanted to share hope with everyone. And not let anyone focus on the problem (or the fruits thereof), and rather on the answer to the problem. Which is mind engineering to truly believe that panic attacks are literally a joke, and that it is a bluff. Perspective is POWERFUL and by doing some mind engineering to truly see that the ulcer was not caused directly by the panic attack itself, this will lessen the blow (or any blow for that matter) by the panic attack. The panic attack will lose its 'magical powers' when you realize that it literally can't do anything. DEAR PERSON WHO EXPERIENCED A PANIC ATTACK:I have been where you have been; imprisoned in your own mind. A slave to fear. And now I am a free man on the other side of the wall. Life is amazing. I want to share the "secret passage" that I took to escape that prison. It's explained in the video that I made and the message that is preaches. I am not the only one who succeeded with this route, countless others, too. Be filled with hope, friends!"Spoken like someone who has never had one. ' I understand them and have overcome them, that is why I say "they are a big joke and can't harm you". Perhaps this may be more edifying: "Spoken like someone who has had them and overcame" because what I shared IS the mentality you need to escape that prison. Again, friends! I hope this message helps and that it has cleared things!

I had trouble swallowing correctly half an hour later... it was embarrassing and I wish noone had noticed. I call it my first panic attack but Idk if it is... help?

Thank you so much for sharing, I have started to have these episodes just recently. I have this tidal wave of anxiety come on and it just builds and builds. The shortness of breath, speech slur, heart pounding, builds and then the thoughts of no self worth grow and grow. Then I see that my kids or others see me struggling in the moment and while they used to look at me as this strong tower I am now shaky and weak which in turn make me feel even less of myself and more anxiety. What a viscous circle and the only way to stop it is to get away and alone and alot of deep breath and internally talking myself down. What to do , how do I stop it ..... Don't ever feel like you are alone and we all should realize that no matter how strong and secure someone seems that may be their cover of deeper internal problems they are dealing with. Thank you again for sharing and making others aware

I have suffered from panic attacks and general anxiety for over a decade now. I was on medication for 12 years but early last year, I decided (with doctor supervision) to stop taking them. The withdrawal process was nightmarish but rather than masking my symptoms, I decided to look into the cause. Much of my anxiety comes from two or three severely traumatic events. I had never fully reconciled with them. I am now in therapy, have changed my diet and am doing well. Granted, I had 4 yes 4 separate panic attacks last week. Mine manifest with extreme nausea, dizziness, increased heart rate and temperature. It's absolutely terrifying. Daily life is still difficult but I am pushing through and making great progress. If anyone else is gong through panic attacks like this, feel free to message me for tips and tricks I use to stop or shorten an attack. You're not alone.

@Kyle Hamilton, Anxiety medications can ease symptoms, but they're not right for everyone and... However, they are physically addictive and not recommended for long-term treatment. You should try cbd oil, or cbd spray. CBD helps treat anxiety. You can always put it in your purse and it's NOT Addictive. Just hard to purchase, because always sold out. My favorite is this one bit.ly/2AqEi2r it helps a lot.

And this is exactly when I realized I had a panic attack 2 years ago. I thought I had a stroke or something. I was studying abroad in Prague and I was having coffee with my boyfriend and all of a sudden my vision blurred, I realized I completely lost the ability to read. I'd stare at my Facebook app and I couldn't understand anything. So I thought I should eat something and we went to the food court and I wanted to order BBQ sauce but I couldn't pronounce anything. I just stood there repeating "Barbec... Barbec..." for like a minute. My ears were buzzing, my nose and left arm were completely numb... I was TERRIFIED! I thought I would be like that for the rest of my life. I go to the doctor tomorrow to see wtf happened to me (it went away after like 35 minutes) and she kept on insisting that I took drugs, which I haven't. Paid $300 for someone to accuse me of using drugs and lying because "all us expats go drug crazy in Prague". SMH!!! Thanks so much for this video, seriously! And I'm sorry for the essay!

Was this followed by any visual disturbances, or a headache?? Because it sounds exactly like a migraine aura. I have the same symptoms. Starts off as extreme confusion, inability to form and understand sentences, one sided limb and/or mouth numbness and then BAM, a massive migraine. I thought it was a panic attack at first too. They sent me to a neurologist, did a CAT scan and some other tests, all signs point to migraine auras. I have yet to find my trigger, keep an eye out for yours, I recommend journaling every time this happens. Time/duration/oral intake/symptoms. Good luck, hun

First try and become aware of your triggers. Then when you feel triggered, have a plan. Do something that will take you away from your thoughts, away from you mind...but in a healthy way. I like to play a game, read, write, or work outside on a project.

I thought that too! The day I filmed this, not knowing this would happen...after it did...I thought I would never be able to speak to my kids again. It was the scariest thing I have ever felt. What I didn't film...because I started to freak out and shut the camera off, was me thinking that this was the end...that I was dying - it's terrible, but treatable.

Josef Cross Hi I also get voice changing (tongue muscle pull, and my tongue gets pulled backwards, that closes my throat and i can't breathe) :/ I watched this video cos i wanted to see how this beautiful young woman got it and guess what I had a panic attack JUST because I watched the video... Especially when she was losing her breath, I just felt it at the same time.. and I started to shiver and my throat felt like tightening and i had to ask my housemate to come and help me. Cos usually my panic attacks put me in hospital, can't go without calling ambulance. Normally it takes me like 10 days to get better again, i can't walk and move around by myself, can't eat anything during the first 4 days especially, and i throw up a lot, I just can't stop. And when there's absolutely nothing in my stomach i start throwing up some water kind of thing, and then i have to take medicine b'cos of an excessive loss of body fluids. Also my immune system gets weak during this time and i can easily become ill and have food poisoning. Panic attacks are just horrible, I wish they didn't even exist!! :(

Spencer Plays Gamez Obviously, you have no idea what it's like to experience an anxiety attack. It's a very real, debilitating condition that millions of people suffer from. Sharing with other people who suffer in silence and shame their real life experience during an attack can help them to understand that they are not alone and there is help and support out here for them. If you can't offer any support in your comments then keep them to yourself. Some subject matters on KZbin are simply not a place for trolls to hang out.

Wow! I wish KZbin would have been around in the late '80's when I was going through panic attacks and suffering with clinical depression. I thought I was the only one in the world who this was happening to. Good news for those that are experiencing PA s and depression. As someone asked me back then:"How much would it be worth to you to know that everything is going to be ok?" It's been over 30 years without a single panic attack and really, pretty much depression-free all that time. I wish you all well. Love you.😊

Look up symptoms for a panic syndrome. See if they match up. If you don't have numbness or like a quick heart rate, etc., then you're probably just freaking out in your mind. What makes an anxiety attack real are the physical symptoms

BeautyStar BeautyStar that'd be a better question for your doctor.. but if you're experiencing psychological mood swings, then yes that is a part of anxiety and you are most likely experiencing daily panic attacks and anxiety attacks... but again, a doctor would need to diagnose you. (Also note, mood swings do not mean you're happy one minite and pissy the next. Society's idea of a mood swing is not the same as the medical term.)

I have my anxiety disorder for three years. Mine starts out with rapid onset of breathing, stuttering, and a raving desire to go, away, I can’t stay here I have to go. Pacing, rubbing top,of my legs, fingers in my brain stirring it around. Things move too fast. Why am I here, you have to leave, you can’t be here, loud moaning, more pacing. Gasping, pounding my head with my fist, get out get out of my head. They end with me in a dark room under a very heavy blanket. Take a couple of days to shake it off, sometimes it comes back

I feel like my panic attacks are a lot different than other people's. Usually when it starts my vision goes really dim and my heart starts racing. I feel hot and cold flashes at the same time. I start smelling things that aren't there. Then I think that I could possibly be epileptic and having a seizure so I freak out even more (even though I'm not). I get extreme nausea and if I'm sitting somewhere I immediately bolt out of my seat. Then my breathing becomes something I consciously control. That's the scariest part. I have to tell myself to breath in and exhale and if I don't I suffocate. Usually they happen about twice a month at random times for about 5-10 minutes but they also leave me stressed out and barely able to eat through the next day.

I have anxiety. I can't eat without feeling nauseous afterwards, I always think i'm going to throw up. It scared me to death to even think about throwing up. I can't go anywhere. I can't do anything. School is hard to go to because i always feel nauseous. Even though I don't eat much, I somehow am still a bit overweight. I really can't exercise, it's just too hard. It hurts and I cry when I exercise. I feel like i'm going to pass out when I try to run a mile. I don't have much healthy foods because i have no motivation to eat healthy. I will go on a shopping spree and get everything healthy (salads, veggies, fruits, etc). And then when I get home i'll eat a salad or so.. Later on when I get hungry I open the fridge and I just can't find anything that I want. I can't eat healthy. It's not that it doesn't taste good, I love how veggies and such taste. I don't know what to do. I'm 12, 105 pounds. It may sound like i'm skinny but I have a chubby stomach. I have a chubby face. Double chin. I suck it in for pictures. I'm depressed all the time yet if you look at my instagram @taylorlawley I look like i'm having the time of my life. I act like life is so great on social media, it's like i'm fake. When I wear a bikini I just suck it in. My flaws - I have no cheekbones visible, no collar bones visible, no boobs, chubby stomach, chubby cheeks, round face, very round nose, cellulite on my legs, fat knees, I don't really have a "curve" on my body. The only real thing I like about my body is my butt, but that's not something that is very necessary? I don't know what i'm saying. I'm just ranting on. I'm bullied a lot, I get called fat, prostitute, slut, bitch, unhealthy, etc. My two bullies have the best bodies in the world + best faces. They said that since my mom died about 8 years ago, it doesn't matter anymore because of how long ago it was. My dad has drank from my ages 4 - 10. He recently slipped twice on the drinking, but stopped. I panic about everything. I am super sensitive so I cry about everything. One time I was trying to clean out the vacuum and it went everywhere and I just sat there and cried like a baby. My best friend recently left me for one of my bullies. I have no friends, I push them all away somehow. I feel nauseous every single day because I get scared that I will throw up. WHY IS LIFE SO HARD????

This was extremely emotional for me because I didn't realize this was a form of an anxiety attack. I've felt this in my throat many times before and as I witnessed you experience this and become fidgety and somewhat on edge and tense, I instantly became uncomfortable and my body started cramping up. My hands are currently shaking while typing this. I'm not sure what that is or if it is indeed a form of an anxiety attack but it's certainly a bit difficult for me at this moment. Anyway, you are extremely brave in my book and I, for some reason, connect with this emotionally. I'm not the most educated on this subject so this comment is a bit messy and doesn't sound the most intelligent, so my apologies. This is EXACTLY what happened to me when I had my first full blown panic attack. All my limbs went numb and tingly and my tongue went numb too! It felt like lead. It was so scary and I begged my mom to take me to the hospital. She refused and told me that she thought I was having a panic attack. Then she told me my aunt had recently started getting panic attacks too. Wish I was my aunt though, she didn't start getting her attacks until she was almost 40. I do not recommend this to anyone and i mean anyone. You know how many things i missed as far as now in this life? At least that's the way i feel. The job that i got offered but i didnt take it because it required from you to perform many presentations in front of many people and the fear i had not to slip into a panic attack; The relationship i rejected because i was afraid she will realize i get panic attacks; The self improvement and joy of life itself. Now,i am controlling all this,i learned; But with what price? So the sooner someone gets help by experienced people dealing with this the better for him/her. You are going to feel better, you are going to feel the way i feel now and the confidence i have but with no opportunities lost as i did.

Our expectations are too high, probably because of the emphasis on “you can be anything you want to be” and highly exaggerated positive self-views. Life doesn’t work this way, for anyone, period. TV is the major cause of this illusion. An ideal life is spoon fed to us 24-7 our entire life on the TV and movies and anything less than perfection is failure. This creates an unobtainable goal, which in turn creates the illusion of failure. Sickness, death, finances, relationships problems, career changes, layoffs, accidents, divorce and flat tires are all normal events in the true “reality show” otherwise known as life. You are very brave to share this experience, I know 2 very close friends that have severe anxiety, it's real people, don't fool yourself. If you've never experienced it, consider yourself extremely lucky

I almost had one around my family. I get talked about and shamed because I'm very Antisocial, I just don't like being around people and I get so nervous, I'm so shy and I hate it. People walk over me and I don't do anything to defend myself most times. I'm very skinny and weak physically and mentally. I'm also very sensitive, which also means I know how to make myself cry haha... not joking though I literally think about how pathetic I am and I start to cry, seriously. :( I've never actually had an anxiety attack ever before, but I feel like I'm about to have one sometimes. I just get really hot, I feel like I'm about to start crying but I try to hold it in best I can, but let me tell you what happened. This was during my sisters and cousins graduation family and friends get-together thingy. I know it seems weird but it was during the part where everyone lines up to get food after we have prayed. I'm not very close and familiar with ALL my family that was there, mainly because I'm too antisocial to really have a conversation or talk to them. And I don't like being around people... but the line was a bit crowded and out of order. Some family members tried to talk and I would still be shy and try to laugh or say something back. Anyway I was standing in line for a while, and I could feel the tension in the air as I waited closely beside my unfamiliar family members. I asked my mom can she just get my food for me while I grab a drink and sit down but she insisted on me waiting like everyone else. (My mother knows I'm shy but she really just wants me to stop being shy, which is really hard) anyway I didn't wanna stay in line so I got out and got a drink anyway but I still tried to get my food and I when I got back to the line it was moved up a little and I just really didn't wanna cut in front of people even though I was already there first. And I could REALLY feel the tension with this one guy who was behind me before I got out of line who is also part of my family but he seemed like he didn't want me to break, my mom was like "why don't you just Get behind the person you were behind earlier" so I tried to get behind them and the awkward thing is the guy was doing this thing where, someone is slightly beside you trying to cut, sort of way, but then again he knew I was trying to get back in line but I knew he probably didn't like what I was trying to do. So this is where I starting getting really hot and kind of...crying... it wasn't the crying where you just break down but the one where you have tears slipping out and you're trying you're best to hold it in and you can feel yourself turning really red and you try to hide the tears and your face and try to wipe them secretly. It was then where I just felt like it was going to happen, but I somehow got through it without passing out or anything (although I felt like if I wasted any more seconds then I would have been dropped on the floor) anyway I got up to get my food and got out. This was my first time almost having (well what I think was) an anxiety attack. I just don't want to be that shy sensitive weak pushover that anyone could look at and think about how pathetic I am. Anyone could stomp and beat me and I wouldn't say a word to spite them... Anyway thanks for taking the time to read about my story, sorry about it being long I get carried away at typing a lot.

Timid • Thinker This is screaming classic social anxiety... ! You certainly seem to have have low self esteem and confidence issues, which then becomes magnified and intensified in social settings. I know you wrote this 6 months ago, but I hope you've been able to gain some insight about your own behavior and the negative patterns of thinking that keep you from being a confident person.. or at least not so painfully shy. I sure have. It's a learning process, and idk what you believe in, but satan loves to use our minds as a playground... Reminding myself of this helps me recognize anxiety for what it really is. Take back your mind! (in the name of Jesus, of course). Only He gives true peace afterall.

You should concider that you may have suffered a suppressed or 'hidden' trauma between the ages you are attempting to speak about which are triggering this panic attack.

You are on the right track with your comment. Although the trauma isn't hidden. - It could have been what triggered the attack though. I have been through years of counseling and know exactly what you are referring to. I won't go into details of my trauma as I have forgiven and moved on. Yet I find it still effects my adulthood. I have been diagnosed with PTSD as well. So I guess you could say you hit the mark with your comment. I am doing better and have learned to ways to manage and accept. I know several people that are against meds...and that is perfectly acceptable, just as taking meds. You know your body more than anyone else. You just have to believe it. Try this, learn to recognize your triggers. Once you do, and you feel triggered, find ways to take yourself out of your thoughts. Do something that pleases you, or even that pleases others. I have found the more I do for others or my family, the happier I am and the more chill it makes me.

My panic attacks have greatly hindered my life. They come at almost any given time and are absolutely devastating. I have been in and out of treatments and have tried multiple medications. It’s such a horrible thing to experience and I don’t wish it upon anyone. When an attack first starts I feel extremely hot. My heart begins to race and then I start to feel like I’m going to throw up. I shake uncontrollably and it literally feels like I’m going to have a heart attack. I get as pale as a ghost and lose all senses. They usually happen during the night and last for about 30 minutes. Horrible!

I have the same exact things happening to me. I’m so glad I’m not alone, it’s so scary because you feel like you’re having a stroke or a heart attack. I feel like I need to go to the emergency room and it sometimes takes me an hour or so to calm down. Taking a shower will sometimes take my mind off of it, but I usually go on KZbin and watch certain videos will distract me. It’s so frustrating because this usually only happens to me at night.

For me I was in the passenger seat of the car omw to Target. I happened so sudden and random, I was feeling like my eyes were getting heavier and my vision is getting blurrier by the second, I had shortness of breathe and felt like I was dying if I closed my eyes, I had the chills which I thought maybe it was the AC but when I turned it off I kept shaking and rubbing my thighs and I couldn't stop, then I was just like " I know this sounds crazy but I need to go to the ER I don't feel right " and when I walked in I was crying and trying to explain to the lady what I was feeling saying things like " my heart is raising, I have a huge headache, my chest hurts and my vision is getting blurry even with my glasses on " mind you I was crying and shaking during this. And I was immediately called to the back to be seen, but what I hated was the fact they acted like I was the problem like if I was on some type of drug or just overreacting, which made me panic and stressed even more for help, I had a heart rate of 155 and all the nurses kept telling me " calm down I need you to stop and calm down " but like how the hell am I supposed to stop if I had never ever had a panic attack with an anxiety attack, I didn't even know what was wrong with me until the nurses left and doctor saw me after being hospitalized for 4 hours. It's just so unreal and horrifying that I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, it's also scary how some people don't think this is a real problem, I'm so glad you caught this on tape as it validates how one might be in full on fight or flight panic mode but also so sorry you had to go through this.

This kind of made me tear up. I had a huge fight with my mom and something similar to this happened (same symptoms) and I started breathing really fast, basically hyperventilating. I was trying to calm myself down. I've had this happen numerous times before, I usually start counting, doing math in my head, or listing my favourite colours and "painting" in my mind, if that makes sense. So I was basically trying to do this, standing in my hallway because I couldn't move and my mom walked back to me. I think she went to continue the argument but then she saw my face. The next thing I know I'm falling backwards, my brother tried to grab me but I hit the ground. I had retreated so far into my mind, trying to calm myself that I had actually went and hyperventilated to the point where I fainted. And it got worse once I came to a bit and I had a full fledged panic attack because I realized that hey, I just fainted. My memory got really splotchy from there, I just know from what my brother told me was that he had to force my mom away from me because she was triggering this episode I was having and it took about 45 minutes to get me calmed down and into the bathroom. I was really nauseous and lightheaded. It was absolutely horrible. I wish I had some advice as to what to do when this happens but all I know is that all my other methods didn't work that day. I'm not sure why or if there's different kinds of attacks that need to be dealt with differently, or if it was just because the thing that set me off was near me the whole time and that hindered me from calming myself. Beat of luck though and I'm glad you're okay :)

I'd love to let y'all know that I've been jogging for my anxiety/panic attack as recently. For example I'll be watching tv laying down and the minute I start feeling different and feel my heart pumping I get up and jog/run in place for about 5-10mins and they go away. When you're having an attack adrenaline is being pumped through your body due to your body's natural fight or flight instinct, so idk of y'all have noticed but if you're laying down or sitting still it takes way longer for the attack and symptoms to go away, by jogging or running in place your body basically is going to make your heart pump faster thus releasing the chemicals you normally get when you do a serious workout routine and helps counterattack the adrenaline and the chemicals that are caused due to the attacks. It's a whole natural process I mean it guys google " exercising during anxiety attacks " and it will basically tell you how it's a natural remedy. I'd thought I'd let you know because it's done wonders for me less than a week. Like I said I have not had an actual attack in two days and I've never taken meds for it, I chose not to be as my request to doctor, tho I rarely get the symptoms of mild migraine or cramp in chest and back area. I tell y'all this because it's life changing one session can reduce the attack and symptoms for hours and if you do it everyday for 15mins you can reduce the symptoms and attacks for longer over time of making it a routine.

I had one recently too. I think my ADHD medication may have caused it, not directly, but made me more susceptible. I used to have them when I was younger and on Ritalin. I only recently started taking medication again as an adult and had another panic attack. Very scary and I hope it was just stress and won't happen again, but if it does, I might have to consider going off medication again. It sticks because it helps me so much

They are very scary. I have had them before and for me they come in different levels. I can have a low panic attack and high panic attacks. I do have anxiety and when my panic attacks started to increase I started seeing a therapist. I think I had a panic attack of sorts, while driving, a few months ago. It started with a sensation of dizziness. My face started to feel numb, my arms and legs felt like they were vibrating, rapidly. Then came the breathing difficulties... except I was breathing, just fine. It only felt like I couldn't breathe. I pulled over, got out of my car, and sat down on the ground, expecting to die... except I didn't (obviously). The sensations passed and I felt just fine. I am not one who is usually prone to panic attacks, so this one took me by complete surprise. There were no known triggers... it just simply happened. They are terrifying, indeed.

Pinja I've had similar symptoms in the past. My doctor related my issue to anemia and low blood sugar. There were moments when I would start to feel dizzy and lose my balance...I would sweat profusely and my hands would start shaking, and my vision got blurry. In moments like that I would eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana and that would usually stabilize me. I would look into that if you're still having this concern. God bless.

my panic attacks and anxiety disorder started when i began using amphetamines in my teenage years and never ceased since then, with me it usually begins with a dry mouth and a feeling of imminent danger that starts in my stomach, my breath goes away,my heart feels like its about to explode and then Boom it fucks my head, my brain works out hundreds of negative thoughts in seconds but the most common thought is that i'm having a stroke and probably gonna die right there, usually when this kicks in i start to walk like a maniac i just can't stand still,i've tried xanax but that drug is dangerous its very easy to become trapped with it, so only use it in extreme situations, my attacks don't last long 2-3 minutes at most but very very intense.

I've been struggling with anxiety (and depression) for a few years now and occasionally I have severe panic attacks. They start out kind of like this. I can't talk and it feels like my throat is closing up. Eventually I start crying and freaking out because it feels like I can't breathe and then I hyperventilate and it just escalates from there. I've had to have tons of ambulances in the past when my mum and dad couldn't calm me down and the longest panic attack I've had lasted up to 4 and half hours. They're really scary and I actually dropped out of school a few months ago because every morning I'd wake up and have one. Anxiety SUCKS and it's terrifying how many people it affects. Watching this made me realize that I'm not the only one who experiences these kind of attacks. I hope you're not having these anymore. You seem so nice and it's sad how mental illnesses always target good people :( x

Thank you for sharing all of this. It’s so true that anxiety looks and plays out differently in all of us. That must have been so scary for you. So glad you shared with your doctor and now with your viewers. People can learn so much from each other.

I cry and they call me crybaby. anxiety attacks are such a bittersweet tragedy. And everytime I get an anxiety attack I almost stop breathing and hit everything with tremendous power trying to brethe and shake a lot.

The very first panic attack is one of the most terrifying things I have ever experienced...I've been dead, been in a coma-had some scary stuff happen over the years...The panic attacks were by far the worst. I think enough people are coming forward now that the stigma is beginning to erode away. I've been able for the most part to "head them off" at least til I got home (if I wasn't)...but sometimes, especially if it just happened to you, you often feel like you are just ahead of a scream. The sun seems too bright (If I went out in the day, it was always overcast) Everything seems far louder around you than it used to be (beginning of hypervigilance) Your heart, everything moves much faster... You are stuck feeling like you are having a heart attack or stroke...You don't know WHAT the hell is happening. I'm here to tell you it's winnable. Educate yourselves as to what they are and soon you will develop your own methods for coping. And you may need to fight for a bit, but you WILL get back to life and the things you all love to do. I'm living proof. Thank you for this video, very brave of you to post it. Cheers, and all the best from Canada.

A few years ago I used to get panic attacks a lot which forced me to go on anti-depressants but I was mad at the fact that I was on them and that I had to rely on them. I mentioned to my doctor several times that I wanted to get off them but she would adamantly talk me out of it which frustrated me even more. So I decided that I was gonna go off them even though I was scared that I might get panic attacks again but I didn't care. I was determined. So slowly but surely I reduced my pill intake to the point where I was off them completely but of course the side effects kicked in and man it was horrible but I fought through and finally had that crap out of my system in a short while. Well, I had a few close panic attacks but I mentally talked myself out of them and what helped was I stopped caffeine and started drinking water like crazy and guess what, i swear to you, it worked! I'm now few years without any form of anti-depressant and haven't and won't have any panic attacks because I convinced myself that I was and still am in control, not some fucking drug. Please folks, believe me when I say this, you too can do it. Don't believe these assholes when they say you must be on drugs for the rest of your life. I was a pretty bad case, maybe not as much as some but I was still pretty bad and I managed to do it. I can help anyone out there who needs my help. I would be so happy to do it too if you want a more detailed advice. Don't be afraid. Reach out to me and I can do my best to help you. (shahinian@sbcglobal.net)

Your not alone! I have severe panic and anxiety attacks especially going to places with a lot of people. On one occasion I went to Walmart with my family, and there was a lot of people. I started panicking, closed in, right chest and feeling sick. I had to run out of the store. Stay strong to everyone who deals with this.

Shem Booth-Spain it's curable? Who told you this lol that's nonsense no medication cures it FACT iv been a sufferer for 27 years of extreme anxiety and panic and it's getting worse and worse. It will only continue to get worse they have told me as i get older. But iv lived with it all my life so u get used to this life style u have no choice. My life is hard as hell. But it's Deffo not curable. U cant cure a mental health issue. Ur brain is ill and doesn't work like a normal persons brain and never will. Love it how people say it like it's just getting rid of a cold. Medication may help some but it doesn't cure it it's just covering the problem up and getting u hooked onto meds. The only real way is to sit down and try ride through it. Wich in my case is impossible cause iv got it all day long. It's like living with hell some days. People just don't understand cause it's not visible

Does anyone else suffer from health anxiety ? I have these episodes every once in a while where it's so intense. I finally stopped googling my health symptoms but google was the main cause for this because I never used to be this way it started months back and effects me to this day. Does anyone have coping mechanisms? It's so hard to deal with !

Ameenah Habibi I am going through anxiety and panic attacks since 1 year. Because I first realised it a year ago. I was overwhelmed and no body understood what happened with me. I wanted to tell them that I am going through something but they said it's an unprofessional behaviour. I tried them to help me with the small misunderstanding but they started grouping and left me . I begged them to sit and talk but no body wanted I couldn't able to concentrate on work. I met with an accident. To clear misunderstanding and for that they misunderstood the situation again and fired me. I started getting worse attacks 3-4 times a day. And reason was to clear misunderstanding bit no body wanted to even listen me. Now I cannt even work or blame anyone. I m 32 year old double master from london. Doing nothing sitting my sister and my friends ask me to start working but I feel I will get attacks again and might get hurt again with these people. I even challange myself to cross my limits but I always control myself by calling my previous mate who don't want to talk and they start shouting at me and even threat me to complain to police. I don't even have fear of death. But I m helpless and even woried for my family. Now i feel i m dependent on them.I will stay like this for longer . I feel I m the cause of everything. Now I m in position where my mind have thousands of thoughts in a minutes. That uncontrollable. ..I cry for help but no body take initiative. I cannt even bear shout of anyone. I just need a tight hugg. No words. I know every one is right no one is wrong.

Kulwinder Singh OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It's basically a mental disorder where you get unwanted intrusive thoughts which can be of horrible events or images in your mind, and then you perform specific repetitive rituals to ease the thoughts and make yourself feel better. For example, the distressing feelings can be caused by the fear of germs (so ritual could be washing hands excessively). And so that's why i thought this linked to your problem as you have health anxiety. People with OCD of germs can always worried of their health, germs and diseases. It doesn't really work logically though... Read this for more info iocdf.org/about-ocd/

When I have an panic attack, I have a hard time focusing and remembering things, I have trouble breathing, and I get very angry, I dunno why, but that's how it plays out for me. I have GAD, that's about closer to the ADHD Spectrum, so I get hyperactive and have trouble focusing when my anxiety kicks in.

Mine feel and work differently. I pant when I speak, I grow very impatient, I feel like my soul is on fire, and I want to punch things. Like, if a coyote showed up to mess with me, I'd tear it apart with my bear fists. I want a punching bag, so I'm not tempted to take out the sudden rage on myself or others. These fits sometimes seemingly come out of nowhere, and include racing thoughts that are often incoherent. The one constant, is the desire to fight that is buried just beneath my inhibitions, kicking and screaming for a way out. It wants to rip things apart: tendon from bone, skin from flesh. To take out all my frustrations on one single, concentrated thing.

I hate it so much 😣....I freak out at the smallest shit and then I cry and I get all worked up . The anger and irritability is the worst part .... nobody can stand to be around me when I get like that , not that I blame them.

I didnt know! What happened to her at the end happened to me when I was laying in bed and fighting via phone with my boyfriend. When I hung up yes I started crying but after a while I didn't know how to speak, I'm sorry for the comparison but it almost felt like I was high because I didn't know where I was and I was so dizzy... Words wouldn't come out right of my mouth, they sounded like hers.. I thought honestly it was an allergic reaction to something but I never thought that it might have been a panic attack... It was awful really... Thanks for sharing and providing Proof of how it is and feels like.. People who don't have anyone to consult need to know what they are experiencing and going thru.. Love from Italia 🇮🇹

I .appreciate this video. I also have anxiety attacks. I even take meds for them, but they still occur occasionally. I had one this weekend because I was suppose to meet my boyfriend at a dance. I got there before him and it set me off. Thank God he's understanding. When he arrived, he knew what was going on right away. He took my hand and walked me outside. I was crying, of course, and he just kept talking to me and walking with me. He told me, " I care for you and this will pass". Is this a great guy or what? I have told him....love is good, but understanding someone is profound!!! He's one of a kind!!!

Mommawedel, I do not mean for this to be a negative or critical comment, but have you considered how taxing it might be for you to retain the level of forced positivity that people often seems to assume when vlogging? Lots of vloggers have started speaking out about the toll it takes on a persons well being, when you constantly try to affect a demeanor of happiness throughout videos, its my belief that such a disposition is unnatural and unhealthy. You might be surprised how interested and engaged people are if you are just you - just be fine, you don't need to be so positive - unless of course that truly is you.

Walter Kemp Bruce no offense taken. I appreciate your comment and yes that is a very real issue for a lot of KZbinr's. However, if you watch my other videos you will see I am not a forced positivity kind of person. In fact, I oppose that type of vlogging because it's just not "real".
