It has to do with stress over all, and our GABA receptors is what I’ve learned...cortisol shoots adrenaline up when we least expect it because our GABA is off balance, therefore when the body relaxes, breathing slows, and heart rate slows, our brain (subconscious) gets the fear/fight flight system to kick in thinking we’re actually going to die. I’ve spent so much time learning this! It was benzos and the extreme stress/anxiety I went through during months of withdrawal. I finally found the answer. It’s meditation and fixing the GUT! We have the most GABA in our gut. Which communicates with our brain in order to function to our fullest capability. GABA is life. I fixed my stomach by eating vegetables soup and broth once a day...my cortisol surges during the night are disappearing.

I also have this most nights, right as I'm almost asleep. Had it for 8 years, feels like a surge of adrenalin. I have severe stress. I also feel it's our brain waking us up as it thinks we are in danger, it wants us to stay alert. I am sure it's from severe stress/anxiety.

about the "get up and do something" thing: not always possible. I'm too exhausted to do anything but lay here, I'm literally tired to the point of feeling sick. yeah, sure, you weren't able to cope with the least demeaning of schools systems, sure you'll be able to learn of your own! if your abition is so low that you drop out of school because you "can't sleep" then you shoud really reevaluate your priporities, I have OCD, i am unable to fall asleep due to palpitations when I go to bad, i've had trouble sleeping since I can remember and I still attent the last year of my secound college degree, in informatics!

Does anyone else have uncomfortable trembling of the whole body at night *Edit*: After a year I can finally say I don’t have extreme anxiety anymore. The solution is probably different for others but what helped me overcome my Extreme Anxiety was to mainly not worry and overcome the obstacles as it got worse. Another thing that helped me along the way was to study it by seeing what would trigger the effects. Food, Drugs, Exercising, and Sleeping. I Drank 1 liter of water a day and ate healthy with natural sugars. This helped me clean my body so I can restart. Then I exercised even though it triggered my Anxiety but I did it so I can get stronger to overcome this trigger. After 11 Months I was beginning to see results. I fought through all the triggers at that point. But I was still feeling the effects having a tight chest pain, heart beating fast and heavy and trembling everyday. I knew was still worrying. Having someone there for you can help so much if it’s a close friend or someone that you love can make you stop worrying. It’s all in your head nothing is wrong with you. Only you can change yourself for the better.

There are many factors in remedies for panic attacks. One resource I found which succeeds in merging these is the Trevs Panic Fixer (google it if you're interested) it's the most incredible blueprint that I've seen. look at the interesting info .

I feel like anxiety has been over looked a lot, if your reading this and have anxiety please don’t rely on prescriptions, it’s all about being mentally strong and it isn’t easy to overcome at the moment but learn to know yourself and how to deal with it, do NOT fear because God is with us ,don’t forget that. I really don’t wanna be on a prescription but all my doctors are like “you need this” and I can’t deny it.I feel like it has helped me A LOT and it has helped me overcome some of my fears but i just don’t think it’s good for me.Like, my therapist says that it’s not me causing my anxiety, it’s actually my anxiety causing my fears which technically means that I’m missing the chemical in my brain that prevents the anxiety from getting to like the next level but I just don’t have that chemical and thats what the medicine does.It makes my brain produce that chemical and help me with the anxiety.Most cases of anxiety are the people who cause it but some people are born without the ability of producing that chemical so sometimes, medicine is needed like in my case.

These are just basic sleep techniques. Not addressed to anxiety, let alone severe anxiety (which is likely to, for example, block the lovely imagery that works in normal situations). Disappointing.

I can very much relate to this , I have slept with a fan for as long as i can remember good video you are the only one that actually explains all what us viewing with anxiety go through , sleeping is the most frustrating , and no i dont take anything to sleep( tried all the natural stuff from health stores etc nothing works, i just live tired everyday then try to focus at work and the list goes on but i am 43 so you could say im immune to being tired at day and wide awake at night

Advice: If you have anxiety, completely avoid caffeine and anything containing it! It doesn't only screw your sleep but also can make your anxiety issue temporarily twice as bad.

I used to have this type of anxiety where before I would fall dead asleep, BAM!! My limbs are numb and I can’t move, my heart literally beats so fast that that I feel like I can’t breathe. This caused trouble at sleepovers and such. I threw up at my friend’s houses because of it. Still do sometimes. But at my normal home, I have grown out of this, just wishing I can still do sleepovers. I’m wishing all of you the best.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this at such a young age :( mine happened out of no where at age 16 while at school I went through alot because it was something I didn't understand but as you get older you learn to deal with it it's just the sleeping part that I struggle with too try listening to white noise or sleeping exercises ik there's Video with noises u make that send signals to ur brain I fell asleep out of no where lol I also like listening to rain it gives me peace:) hope something helps

I haven't been diagnosed with anxiety but just wondering if I should talk to somebody about it because for about 4-5 months I've been getting so stressed over the tiniest things then panicking about them and then just ending up giving myself panic Attacks which happen like 2 times every fought night. Also a lot of the time I can't sleep because I end up feeling very worried about things and just have so many things I'm thinking about . I also feel like if I go anywhere with a big crowd I always end up having to leave after about 15 minutes because I just get so worried about being around lots of people . I don't think it's anxiety I just think I'm just stressed but if someone could tell me if I should talk to anyone or like just ways to calm down 😊

Knowing there are people like me out there really is comforting. Nevertheless there's no cure to ocd issues. They'll just prescribe something that you'll get addicted to and almost die from. It's kind of pathetic that we know so little about how to stop the adrenal response.

@XtrueheroX let me tell you, I TOTALLY understand. On December 23, 2011 I had the most anxiety I have ever had in my life. It lasted for at least 7 hours. I had never felt like that before. I feel like I could totally help you. I know WAY more than you think. After that day, I could barely get out of bed. I still had that weird anxiety on December 24, but only for a few hours. Then, when I went back to school on January 3, I felt SO much anxiety, but it went away around 6th period. After that

4am can’t sleep still- this only happens at night when the sun is down, I can sleep fine in the morning, just not for long because people wake me up. But at night I can be exhausted and still cannot fall asleep

I'm 16, something happened at home. I havnt slept in two days straight. I think too much. Even though I feel super tired I'm not sleeping and idk why I know I'm thinking a lot. Like I just tried to sleep two hours ago and I ended up waking up thinking of that issue.

Dan Ramirez find something that will purely distract, you from other thoughts, eg just being in the garden or reading a book, ice tried this and it eliminates other thoughts when I just focus on the present, which is called mindfulness a natural way to de-stress and clear your mind, also I stay away from all stimulants, unless I need it to function

+TheDigitalGamer 3D I have severe anxiety at night and I find taking melatonin and reading before I go to bed really helps! Or even playing some asmr videos if I'm about to go to sleep if I'm not in the mood for reading. It's not much but hope it helps because I've been there!

These are all great tips - I have no trouble getting to sleep but I can't STAY asleep. I often only get 2-3 hour stretches of sleep - I'm exhausted, I fall asleep in middle of conversations, on the loo, driving my car. I try to exhaust myself during the day, no coffee and very little tea, some alcohol but noticed it makes no difference, I used to take sleeping pills but weened myself off them (not easy) I take OsteoTylenol x 2 pills and Lyrica (for Chronic Trigemenal Neuralgia) I eat light (mostly) and suffer with reflux if I don't so I take 1 x Nexium at night to help with this. I use my laptop in bed before sleep, watching a movie or such. I'm so tired everyone comments, I'm putting on so much weight I am now looking very fat. I'm booked into sleep clinic for appointment in a few weeks so can't wait to get to the bottom of things. I suppose I have sleep apnea.I can't imagine a life with enough sleep. Watch out world.

There's times after a bad dream I wakeup in the middle of the night with my heart shaking burning and not getting any air :/ I had to walk back and forth and it has lasted for 2hours until I noticed it was only my anxiety after I saw the pattern I learned what it was & learned to control it a bit.. it seems when your not aware of what's happening its when you lose it just pep talk yourself keep in mind nothing is wrong and it's just you freaking out and it will go away as soon as you calm down ND it sorta helps slowly it wasn't easy but Its alot better than what it used to be

For some reason, I'm having another one of those times when I watch a video I've seen on my homepage forever, and its always about something that gives me anxiety that keeps me awake. This time I happened to watch a video about sleep paralysis, then afterwards I ask myself *Why did I watch this?!* now I cannot sleep, this kind of anxiety takes about a week to fully get over.

yo man im way better now im 16 and i didnt need medican just needed a diffrent way to look on life. and if thare is anyone out thare wondering what i mean i mean i decided i wanted to improve every aspect of my life and i started to block out the bad thoughts and eventaly i met a good person to be freinds with and i started to be happyer and more confadent but i dont know if its gona last forever im trying tho it seems ive lost my grip. its really hard and i thank it will just take time for enyone out thare to figure themselves out sometimes stress can make you thank the wors thanges and baleave them so i really dont know how to help y'all its kinda just like the plates lined up perfect btw sorry for the spelling i got to go do class work i dont have time for neat typeing lol..

I have something similar that started after a concussion. I'll start falling asleep and then I get weird pressure tingly feelings on my chest and back. Then as I'm about to fall into deep sleep I feel like I'm passing out but not really, I feel paralyzed and my breathing stops for a few seconds, and no matter how hard I try I can't breathe. After those few seconds I can breath again and I snap out of that paralyzing feeling. It literally feels like I've died or something or like something is reaching into me and is suffocating me from the inside. It could be either because of my high stress and anxiety, my concussion, or the ghost that lives in my bedroom.

What if you have taken various of sleeping pills and still can’t sleep that me I never can sleep and feel rested in the morning I feel dead in the mornings and I have tried a lot of sleeping pills I’m on prazasin now but I have taken clonidine, transadome, melatonin, prazasin and my doctor just subscribed me on prazasin a couple months ago and I still have trouble falling and staying asleep plus I’m bad bipolar and have anxiety I’m of course taking busbar and welbrutren but they don’t seem to help me very well any one know what I should do. Please help in overweight and I want to sleep better to help me lose weight I eat healthy and exercise but nothing seems to help me sleep is my only problem any one have advice please tell me

I can't ever sleep because when I close my eyes I see all these monster like things pop up in my face. I open my eyes and look around because I will still feel scared, then afterwards I start to cry and my breathing gets harder. I want it to stop, so did this help anyone? I can't find a video that helps me with this.

1. Bring your ipod to bed. Listen to great/funny/soothing music at night. Kid Rock MIGHT help you. It's SO funny. 2. Watch funny youtube videos before you sleep. Watch greatest freakout ever videos. They are hysterical!!!! 3. Watch hysterical tv shows, like family guy, south park, regular show, whatever works for you. 4. Think about something very unexpected/unique that has happened in the past. I just want you to know that I TOTALLY understand. My anxiety was probably even worse than yours.

I asked my therapist why I cant get to sleep and he told me many of these same things from the video. One other thing he said was that human babies evolved to be in an anxious state when its time to sleep because babies are extremely dependent/vulnerable. Its when parents hear baby crying and reassure the baby that everything is safe that the baby can then fall asleep. If you were not shown this safety as a child you probably have no idea how to reassure yourself later in life. I think that it still works more or less the same for babies and all of us that have now grown. Have good sleep hygiene for sure so you aren't fighting your body to sleep but if you reassure the baby in you that everything is safe you will sleep. How do you show a baby that everything is safe? Been suffering severe insomnia over the last five months. Sometimes I don't sleep more than 3 hours in 48 hours. It's fucking miserable. However, I have been doing a lot of research and I think taking natural supplements have helped me sleep recently: 1) magnesium glycinate 2) taurine 3) L-theanine 4) niacinamide 5) zinc (helps lower cortisol) 6) Holy basil 7) oleamide 8) THC/CBD oil
