As someone that threw away most of his late teens and 20s from depression, anxiety, bullying and morbid obesity, I've worked in silence for the last couple of years, lost 160 pounds, got credentials to start a good career, and have the most confidence and dedication at life than ever before. I'm 30 now and am barely taking off, some may call it being a late bloomer, but I believe it was devine timing, maturity and the will to succeed after losing everything that mattered in my life. If I could do it, anyone can. From 335 lbs depressed and suicidal to 175 ripped and winning. All it takes is consistent work.

My personal gold nugget from this podcast: "Just go for the low hanging fruit so you have access to the next one up" - this gave me immediate clarity accept a more entry-level role at a highly established company (the low hanging fruit), so that I can progress within it (i.e. unlock access to the higher fruit). Such a simple but powerful concept and made the decision so simple.

Thomas you're laying it out there today, much appreciated! I'm a full time environmental engineer, underpaid due to municipal govt pay. Up until covid I was driving lyft and food dudes as a side hustle to get rid of my consumer debt. Then I restarted my youtube channel, got it niched down last fall finally. Still not monetized and hardly ever get any affiliate sales, definitely no sponsorships yet. But I now have a damn purpose in life, and it relates to what you're saying...helping people become more capable and in control in their lives, take PRIDE in their lives through self sufficiency. I feel like people hate on their lives and the world because they don't like themselves. And that starts with the basics. That 10-minute walk. Good talk.

This platform, this community - you all have had my attention but now it's.on. Yesterday afternoon I just discussed divorce from a nine year marriage, a mutual discussion that's been months overdue. This platform isn't merely to make me feel better, because I'm no stranger in putting in hard work. I'm 47 with the physique of a 30 year from a result of years of strength training, yoga, and meditation. I have the right mindset! I left the cozy, comfortable cabin, I'm in the woods now - first priority trying to just get out of this bone chilling wind and start a fire. I'm not afraid to do so because it's binary, either I do so or die.

Hearing Thomas’ story about his medical issues really resonated with me on a deeper level. I’ve also struggled with pretty awful genetics, dietary restrictions, and spent the past few years in and out of the Emergency Room. At the end of the day, focusing on your own journey, and finding your own path to happiness and fulfillment is where it’s at. I can’t change the circumstances of my birth, but there’s so much that’s within my control that I will push to the limit. Keep up the fantastic work, gentlemen!

I'm so sorry to hear this, however it's silence. There are no comforts to distract you, the familiar cozy noises have ceased. This provides the ability to focus, dial in, reassess, and address. Regardless of ease, comforts wilt away our ability to think and act like real genuine men. When your back is at the wall, creativity and critical thinking ignites it's long forgotten torch, burning your reserves of neglected testosterone. This is your moment, sir.

So glad that you've made that into a springboard broski! Empowering words. I went through 6 months of drug abuse. Did some serious physical and mental damage to myself. Spent 2 years in self-pity, the next 2 years working devoutly on my self. Now I genuinely believe I'm smarter, stronger, richer and generally better than I ever would've been had it not happened. Wow, these episodes just get better and better each time! Really enjoyed listening to Thomas talking about his intense personal struggle over 2 years. Due to a mental illness and being neurodivergent I had a 7 year stretch that started in high school and ended about 2 years after I dropped out where my life was just incredibly hard. Suicidal thoughts basically everyday. So I really resonated with what Thomas said about always being able to go "oh I got through that thing, and comparatively the thing I'm going through now is minuscule". That since mindset has made me incredibly happy and content for the last 6 years of my life. I just turned 31 in January. My optimism is something I get questions about all the time. People are baffled at how I can stay fairly optimistic most of the time. The secret is that everything I'm going through now is so much better than how my life was not that long ago. And my biggest takeaway from that was that the things I don't control is something I should always strive to think less and less about. I always try to focus on what I do control and that is ultimately only myself. My mind and my body. This podcast is amazing, please keep going 👏👏👏

"By having a life take root in her body, and then pass out of her, a woman's senses become educated in a way that a man's senses can NEVER be." I'm not brilliant. That's something I read in a book once, but I think it speaks the (sometimes) inarticulate wisdom that most women seem to possess over men. It was good to learn more about Thomas's journey today. Peace 👍
