Compression waves in a material travel at the speed of sound (for that material), so it's vastly slower than light. Speed of sound in steel is around 6000m/s so if you pushed the rod on earth it would be 434 days or 1.2 years before it moved on Mars!

Another weird thing to think about is that time doesn't necessarily exist. We could all be trapped in a single moment (now), but our brain states make us think that time is passing. Your 'simulated universe' rant reminded me of a book you would probably enjoy: _Permutation City_ by Greg Egan. Part of the story has a simulated person describe their perception of time when the simulation is run at different rates or with other manipulations, including executing the code emulating each state-transition their brain does out of order. Imagine evaluating 'emulate_person_using(this_brain, these_senses)' as part of a universe simulator. When you use different compiler optimizations, you should get the same results, with some and the exact one you use depends on your priorities: (e.g. do you want to do this thing faster, or do you want to use less memory?) An example of pseudo-randomized order execution in real computers is the microcode reordering optimizations done in the x86 family. Minor spoiler: in the story they don't notice any difference, like you suggested with a 100 year per Planck-time step. Also, the author is Australian, so you could also just have fun reading it in Dave Jones' voice.

@NCISCherno3 жыл бұрын
I picked one up as I was really regretting getting a Creality CR10-S5 for my first printer as it is a nightmare to keep level. The only issue I have with the Viper is the Y axis is off on the printer. If I manually move the print head to (0, 0, X) the print head is hanging off of the build platform by around 5mm. And if I move it to (0, 250, X) the head is about 5mm from the edge of the play. It seems like the rail the Y axis is on is offset for some reason. I can still print just fine, except the initial line that is drawn is into the air before it moves into the middle of the plate to start the part itself.
@gmodesike3 жыл бұрын
Edit the gcode to offset towards the center of the bed by the amount needed.

The moving Axis thing has been tested multiple times and at least as far as the people testing it could go moving the axes is not going to create enough current to cause any problems with the system. Same here. Hand screw clamps are a great way to hold things on your bench. Having a few sets on hand means you can do things like clamp parts in them near the bottom to make a wider base, or even clamp to the part, then clamp the clamp to elevate the part. Was trying to find a good picture to show the idea, but hopefully it's at least somewhat clear. They can basically act as a makeshift vise, with a lot of flexibility if you have more than one or two.

I have both the CR-6 and the Vyper and love them both. The flex plate with textured finish is great for prints that need it and releases prints easily. I am a convert. The only drawback to the strain gauge is to make sure no filament is leaking from the nozzle or it screws up the ABL (and leaves little zits on the flex plate).
@totowolff32293 жыл бұрын
Which one of the two printers print better
@reasonablebeing53923 жыл бұрын
@@totowolff3229 They each have their strengths. You can barely see the layer lines when printing at small layer heights on the CR-6. You can get user-written FW on the Vyper for linear advance and it really eliminates ghosting and you get very sharp corners. For artists the CR-6 and for precision prints the Vyper but with the linear advance FW.

Oh the Chiron is double that at 400 x 400 x 450mm. My only complaint about both of those printers is that the filament tends to leak through the sides of the hot end. They really have a shelf life about 3 to 6 months. I've started to back out my filament after the print is done just so it doesn't build up in the hot end. The bed adjustment screws on the Chiron are also smaller I wish they were a bit bigger.

I have 4 of those printers at work (we mainly print achitecture models for students) and they are terrible. Really bad print quality. I like the PEI bed and the nozzle probe, but the leveling doesn't seem to work properly. Prints fail and do not stick, pla warps like crazy (we use polyterra pla). But the thing that i do not understand is the hotend. Why use a vulcano on a bed slinger? If you are going to use it to print large prints with 0.8 mm nozzle, I guess it might be beneficial, but having a bowden extruder (and quite a bad one) and a vulcano hot end on a bed slinger is a pretty bad combo.

Depends on the issues you have with the ender 3. This uses the same rollers on 2020 (2040 bed?) extrusion that in my opinion are a pain to maintain and get properly smooth. The mesh level can help with it a bit, but they're still higher maintenance than other solutions. And if it's just a bed material problem, you can buy adhesive backed PEI sheets pretty cheap.

Happy Printing from PrusaLand!
