Got to say such a well produced video that actually explains an entire rod range, other companies take note

Probably my favourite rods the 4&Bait mk2 use a pair of 13ft fixed spool versions along with a pair of 11ft AFAW Estuary rods for floundering.

Great summary there from Julian explianing the rods and a well put together video. I couldn't quite stretch to a new one this season but picking up a good condition second hand 6&bait off a friend soon. Looking forward to putting it through its paces this winter season. Hopefully i can haul some nice big cod in!

Cracking video and really informative talk from Julian. Got my GBFS Pro MKII thanks to his advice, and never been happier to move away from another brand that had lesser customer service. Back to the proper fishing rods with AFAW. Again great video!

I’ve got a lot of AFAW rods, but not as many as I want. I’ve even got some of his prototypes. Jules actually talked me out of buying some of his rods. He said I didn’t need them cos I have such and such rods already. How many other rod makers would do that? Yeah they’d just take your money. I’ve got a lot of respect for Jules, he won’t sell you what you don’t need. Which is good for the customers, but not so good for him. That’s proper customer service, more companies should operate like that.

Hi there. I’ve bought the mk2 6& bait multiplier the spigot is really really stiff and tricky to get it in . Before I actually start using it on the base on the diamond pattern is it very hard wearing as not sure of the longevity of the wrap . Must admit it does look really nice though

Hi there, I found your video most intriguing. I am a disabled Angela and in a wheelchair with the limited pallet. I fish anywhere I can get her used to fish many many years ago and my equipment it’s okay, but is possibly 40 years old, my formula, T with a foot tip is the route I always go to, but he’s a bit heavy and hard to cost these days. I need something which is suitable for myself , To fish peers any feature can get home for Fishing from very hard, standing casting distance and casting close I have you shorten Road, which is I suppose easier for balance but then you are limited on how far you can go, and if you have a surf running you can’t get your tips over it. can you help ???

Been looking at getting the 15ft fixed spool blue range...for chesil and South Coast. Would this be suitable? Want something with bit stiffer tip for tides. Currently using penn tidal 100 to 250 Gm. But really like look of afaw rods. And I've literally not seen a single bad review about the afaw range of rods. Any help greatly appreciated 🙏 🙂

Probably the Tournament Match Remastered, if you didn’t want to go up to the Pro range. I’ve got a pair of the TMR built for fixed spool. I’m also on the South Coast, and the TMR is the one Jules recommended to me, cos he knows where I’ll be using them.

can I use spinning reel on my tournament match mk2???
@HookpointFishingMagazine Жыл бұрын
A fixed spool? How has your TM MK2 been rung? For FS or multi? It's not that you absolutely can't switch reels on either, but it won't be optimum. The wider line wraps coming off of a fixed spool could also cause a ring wrap on a multi rung rod.

Only used one of your rods pal.. anyfish anywhere estuary.. nice light rod but the tip is sh**t for maccy.. can't feel them even if there's à few on 🤔need to soften the last two foot up👏👏all the best Lincoln 👍
@HookpointFishingMagazine Жыл бұрын
Hi Lincoln, is it the 12 foot or the 11 foot Estuary rod you used? I had the 12 foot for a few years and it’s more of a firmer tip, through action rod which might not be everybody’s cup of tea for lighter fishing. I’ve yet to confirm this myself but the 11 foot Estuary is supposed to have a more medium action with a softer tip - a better fit for people wanting or expecting that kind of profile. Cheers, Ben

@@HookpointFishingMagazine I use the 11 ft one and have caught hounds, rays and all kinds on it but get a few Macc and you can't feel them taking the hook.. lovely rod but it's just a weird sensation..a few lads have come to the same conclusion 👍

I'd be very interested in your rods but the only thing that puts me off is 820g on the blank on the 6 and bait. If you was to release blanks between 3 and 400grams I would absolutely be able to purchase I'd rather not go fishing to walk away hurting like you said in your speech fella. @anyfishanywhere.
@HookpointFishingMagazine Жыл бұрын
Totally get where you are coming from there in a world of modern very lightweight rods, especially in the 3 piece world. That being said, where the weight is in the blank makes a massive difference - I don't personally feel the weight in the 6 & bait, as it feels well balanced. I really do feel it when all the weight is in 2-3ft of glass in a tip. No mans perfect rod is perfect for another though - best to try a few and find what is right for you.
