They really need to patch the AI so it deals with archer rushes better. As is this almost feels like cheesing the old AI with towers.

Old AI cheese I found was destroy a wall then leave archers by the gap you just made AI would send a villager to build new wall in the gap and archers would kill the villagers. As AI would keep sending villagers none stop until it ran out of food and resigned.

I played in extreme and got rushed several times by AI archers and lancers, and because of AI ridiculous micro with ranged units I couldn't win. I think viper makes it look easier than what it is really, + civ pick to maximize archers and OP saracen building damage as team bonus

So one thing I've noticed Viper usually does is deleting a lumber camp and build a new one 2 tiles closer to the woodline, even if it uses up all of his remaining wood, as early as in Feudal Age. How much time does it take for it to pay back? (That's something for which SotL would probably have an answer ready...)

I don't understand... in the 2013 HD edition even the moderate computer AI has archers/skirmishers out at ~15min but now they're just going full eco? :O Btw can the Extreme AI be beat without making an Archery Range (with Barracks + Stables mainly)?

When they are left untouched, sure Also, they make decisions based on the score of the opponent. If you have a higher score they will almost never attack you

Is the problem really that the AI can't handle archer rushes? Or that Biper's micro is so godly to where he can dominate with like 4 archers? Let's be honest, most of us would still lose hard if we tried his strat.

2 vs 5 could have both tati rushed and sent 4 archer each to 2 AI and then both sent 2 to the 5th. They'd have never made it to CA. Even 2 vs 6 should be easy, you'd have just had another guy TaToH needed to take out like you did yellow in this game. They need to change the vil AI to recognise how many military units you have around and when it should just fight.

What a shame 2 on 5. When I used to play AOE long time ago, I once fought 7 AI and Won. The only difference for me back then was that bombard towers used to destroy Rams, and I probably had the map visible, but I think I also did it with invisible map as well
