Loved Subaru so much in this episode. He really showed how much he has grown prioritising the important threat in front of him rather than acting emotionally and directly go after Emilia. Moreover we got a glimpse of his potential as a leader in this episode which was also amazing. The way he was confronting Garfiel also showed how much he matured. Everyone believes in Subaru and truly respect him. At the same time they know that he is not that strong, but he still fights on the front, guides the others and works as a support with his whip. If a person isn't compatible with the authority, they dive off the deep end very fast, but if they are compatible it takes a lot of use. Subaru wasn't originally compatible, but Echidna artificially synchronized his body with the Witch Factors, minimizing the dissonance effect. Even so, every use of Sloth affects him, he literally feels his soul being tainted and his organs get messed up more and more.

These past 4 eps watching the culmination of all his development in the past two seasons has been wonderful Also the scene in the ending where he falls and then everybody pushes him back up is so great, just him standing in front of all these people that trust and respect him is such a stark contrast to previous seasons. Like how in S2 op you see him dying and getting up only to keep dying all by himself. Or walking through the flames in longshot. Or dying and then running through the dark to reach everybody else standing in the light in s1 op. Now he’s the one standing in the light alongside everyone.

And we do see that here as well, he takes a step back because he tries to solve the issue of Sirius on his own, and it's not until Emilia comes to him that he's like "Yeah, I should let you help, because you're perfectly capable". He's acting like Emilia needs to be kept away from the conflict, when bringing her into the conflict is the thing that ultimately solves it.
