Tell you what, strictly speaking, he was the only one in the final season, who actually had clarity in what he was doing (Save Eldia). After years of being stubborn and not giving into the hype, I finally brought myself to watch AOT. Erwin and Levi are the biggest reasons why I binged watched it and caught up. Sorry for the comparison, but Erwin reminds me a lot of Itachi. Responsible for so many deaths, yet for a greater cause. Who else could burden such a task of leading so many ambitious people knowing more than half of them would never make it back within the walls. Endured all the criticism from the citizens, even from some of his comrades. And in the end, gave his life, entrusting the next generation to achieve his dream. Love characters like him. They really push the storyline forward. Wish he woulda lived, but gave his life for humanity.

Imagine that. They deleted the video at first and it was lost for so many. Seeing its views now, one might think its not a masterpiece. But its wrong. This is one of the best AMVs ever created for AoT. I know what Erwin is saying in these clips without subtitles thanks to this video. Even after the years when it came out, i still lay in awe knowing this was someone's vision. THank you for this.

Many fans said they were sad when Erwin didn't find the truth he sacrificed so many for. However, people forget his last words to his soldiers where he said the ones who die trust the living to remember them, to make sense of their sacrifice. When Levi convinced him to abandon his dream and die, that was the moment he knew he had to trust the ones who will follow in his footsteps to realize the dream he would never see, hence his last words. In a way, he was waiting for someone to tell him that it's okay to rest and that they will realize his dream for him. It's why when he died, he looked like he was at peace.
