everytime I try to use the invnorm on my Ti - 84 plus ce, it keeps asking for a tail and giving me 2 values in parenthesis

It is possible you have a newer calculator where under invnorm you have the option for left center or right. If you select center the area it wants inputed is the area in the center. So for 95% that is 95%. It will give you range of z-scores that have that area in-between them. If you select left (which is what older version of the ti-84 default to) the area you are asked to input is the area at the bottom or to the left, which for 95% is 2.5%.
