APUSH is a class that you need to dedicate a lot of time to if you want to pass with a really good grade. Online outlines help make things easier but they won't really help you in the long run when it comes to the exam. Like Jasmine said, practice questions HELP. Trust me. Multiple choice questions aren't like the normal ones where the answer is in the passage, and to get them right you typically need to have knowledge of other periods (past or future) and be able to relate it to the points being made in excerpt. First half of the year my Unit Tests were TRASH. Garbáge if you will, but once, I started doing practice questions I jumped from 50s and 60s to 70s and 80s.

i did way better than i expected (got a 5 when i thought i got a 3 lmao happy accidents) and all i can say is practice tests!!! so so helpful after you have the framework already. also, especially for frqs, think about stuff you learned outside of history class. like, for example, we read the crucible in english last year, so that helped me remember extra information about both the intolerance of early massachusetts as well as 1950s mccarthyism.

I’m not amazing at history but APUSH is pretty easy imo. Jocz Productions makes amazing videos on apush that saves me BIG time on valuable sleeping time. One thing I do not like which is with most AP classes is that it is almost impossible to cover everything in class, so make sure you study a little bit at home whether it’s reading (I recommend using an audio book with reading- the American pageant book is on KZbin), or watching review videos. :) good luck!

I passed the ap exam with a 4 even though I didn’t finish. The exam is basically a more detailed version of the regent. The best thing to do is time yourself for the essay part. The multiple choice wasn’t that bad as long as you review your materials, you’ll be able to memorize it by heart. I recommend watching Adam Norris review videos if you want a brief summary of the periods!

The thing I noticed as a Sophomore taking APUSH is the thing that makes the class the hardest is you. I wouldn't be struggling nearly as much as I am now if i would read, review, watch the APUSH review videos I find, and make memes/ drawings for every chapter. My #1 tip for those taking APUSH is find your studying style!! I know i only learn if I review with vocal content (ie discussions, debates, videos), so i have to translate my textbook into audio content. Find your style, itll make youre life SOOO much easier

For lazy kids 1. Read your textbook 2. Learn from outside sources and consult the collegeboard materials to see what’s important 3. Practice using collegeboard or Albert.io questions MC 4. Avoid absolute multiple choice answers 5. Read all the answers before you pick one 6. Eliminate what you can 7. Guess, since there’s no penalty Long Answer 8. Do a brain dump first 9. Have a clear thesis 10. Pace yourself and make an outline

This video is a very helpful video especially with tips, but for me honestly i can't really relate with the struggle in APUSH since im kinda just naturally good at history even without note taking since my teacher barely gave us notes to take, I was also the only one in my class who passed all the unit tests and never failed not one, the only let down i had was that i end up getting a 4 on the AP Exam but thats only because i forgot to answer 3 multiple choice questions and didnt have enough time to finish all the frq's but the essays were dumb easy, but overall APUSH is NOT hard just invest some time in reading the book and go over things and its easy asf.
