These apartments are all so big for so cheap. Unless they're like built poorly I can't fathom why it would be SO low for rent but looks like you saw some great deals overall. Fun adventures in your early 20s. =)

It's just different economies, outside some of the biggest cities, like Beijing and Shanghai, which are facing real estate bubbles, housing is very affordable here. It's also relative to wages, which are lower than some other countries. (I live in Beijing but it's in a more rural area which means the housing prices are a lot lower).
