What a talent you are! You are so good both in making things and in explaining things clearly and simply. I now actually feel like I could make a Roman shade shade myself! Don’t ever forget that you’re a very special and gifted woman.

This is the best and most sensible tutorial for this project I’ve watched. And I’ve watched a lot of them.

The best video yet! I appreciate alot of the extra steps you took to make it cleaner and crisp. Plus, no extra talking like 99% of DIY videos. I'm a to the point kind of person. A+ girl, those arms! I need to know how you keep them toned like that!

Thank you so much for this video! Seeing a regular person make this shade was just the push I needed to try it for myself. I have never included sawing and drilling in my skill sets, but now I am proud to say I can do it! My fabric glue is drying right now, and I think it's going to turn out great! Thanks again!

I know this is an older video but I wanted to let you know you did a wonderful job explaining and showing showing the steps.. I'm wondering how I can incorporate magnets Into this project and If the back could be covered so it looks more appealing . I Wonder if the the rods and slats could be could be glued and the strings attached with spray adhesive in-between the two fabrics and magnets attached to the rods??? Your thoughts?

What keeps the shade up and releases it ?
@MissHajj7 жыл бұрын
Barbara Dubiel The mechanism that makes a Roman Shade a Roman Shade is what keeps it up and keeps it down! I can't explain it, I don't know how it works! But it's awesome! No need for a pull cord!

Thanks so much for the information. I watched it a second time after I messaged you and i realized you used the original top of the shade and i felt pretty stupid but that is how we learn. Keep the tutorials coming. Oh by the way I bet your sister is a hoot. LOL

Barbara Dubiel No problem! 😂😂😂 If you've never seen a roman shade before, it would be confusing as to how it functions. I don't know when I first saw a roman shade but I knew not having messy cords was for me! 😂

It's the same mechanism that keeps the blinds up/lets you pull them down when they're still blinds. It's like a locking pulley at the top. So, just like you'd pull the cord to lower the blinds, you do the same to pull the shade down.
