Nice!! I would just lay the blind flat and cut off the slats And just leave spaces in between depending on how many folds wanted. It would seem much easier.

I have made a Roman shade before but the fabric was thin. I was looking to find how to make one using the blackout fabric ,thank you very much. This is a great video, I appreciate it because I've seen many other ones and you pick up what you need and you move on. Thank you for your hard work it looks lovely!!!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It worked perfectly and I had everything I needed already on had. I even just used the blinds that were already hanging in my window and just removed them carefully to not damage the brackets and then was able to snap the finished shades into place. I am so pleased with the finished project. I’m sure I could’ve sewn them or used no sew fabric adhesive but the glue gun was sufficient and I didn’t have to go to the store. I’m excited to use this technique on a couple other windows in my house. I’m sharing because I have other diy friends who would think this is great.

Wow! I was exhausted after watching you work that hard. However, this was a great video. I really don't know if I could do this, maybe I will watch it several more times. But you go Girl!

I realize this is an older video but could you convert your measurements to cups and measuring spoons. I don't know anything about the sizes of your glasses or what a tea glass is. I really want to make this. Also do you oil your pan and is the towel damp. Thank you so much.

Is there somewhere I can get written explanation and directions to do this?

Is there a way to make a slip cover type Roman shade to cover the bind without cutting anything? Not allowed to cut due to landlord. I would like a slip cover type idea that also shows from the outside. Windows I am looking to cover the blinds on will not have the Roman shades of blinds opening because they are right up on the main front door and parking lot. Thanks for any ideas.

How much fabric does this take? I know it depends on the size of the windows, but I can’t find any videos that gives any information on this. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to try!

Hmmm, i like these. Though i would probably sew most of the seams. Personal preference because I don't have experience with hot glue and the curtains will be in a vehicle that gets really hot and i don't know how well the glue will hold up in high heat. To clean, i imagine do the same as with blinds. Remove and put in the tub and scrub though with these I'd probably hang outdoors and use a hose. Thanks for the tute!

You’re welcome! I was unsure about the hot glue too but thought it might be helpful for folks who don’t sew.

Your tutorial is the best that I’ve seen. Everyone else fails to hide the blinds in the back 🤦🏻♀️ is there a true sew version though?! And not only see but removable for washing?!
@susananyway3 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you liked it! I haven’t made them using my sewing machine, and I love the idea of making them removable but haven’t done that either, sorry!

@@susananyway no worries, I’m betting a steamer and stain remover would work great to clean them overtime. My Mom replaced an expensive Roman shade and I found this tutorial, so that’s what I’m working on today. Really enjoyed your version

Nice tutorial! My question is with cordless mini blinds would string still need to be threaded like you demonstrated? Also is drapery fabric visible from window exterior due to folds or only lining?
@susananyway Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to the cordless question. From the exterior, you see the lining and the edges of the drapery fabric on the sides.
