Most neglected topic not covered by most KZbinrs who talk about retiring in SE Asia is now to make friends and have some sort of social life. It's great that one can save a lot of money moving to SE Asian countries but its not easy making friends specially when you don't speak the language. In many parts of Thailand at least people speak a bit of English. I thinks it's much harder in Laos as it's does not have a big expat community.

Interesting point. Depending on the location (major city vs rural) it can be a challenge. Or it can be a blessing…depends on what you’re looking for. There are some reasonably good Facebook groups to help connect with other expats (Expat Laos, Foreigners Living in Laos, Vientiane Social). But you’re right, it can take some time to connect. Thanks for bringing that up!

How can you do a video on housing without giving a price. Total waste of time. Sorry but price is most important.

The downstairs apartment did it have a back door to go the backyard?

Good question! There is no entry from the backyard, so just a short walk from the front door. Thx for watching!

The prices for these apartments are ridiculous compared to other countries in Asia. Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia. I have spent time in all those countries and Laos just doesn't have enough to offer to justify those kind of prices.

Good evening just watch your full video of your tour, question, 🙋 you previously mentioned you were going to show us 3-bedroom apartment, and you had mentioned, 1-2-bedroom apartments, on this tour, but you didn’t and can you please in future clarify and confirm vocally exactly how much all the individual apartments are on monthly rent please. Otherwise your tour was very positive. Thank you

Great question - Owners state their pricing is "mid-range" for a furnished apartment, and is happy to provide more info for anyone serios about renting. We did provide a range 08:37-08:45 for reference. A studio in the city ~$250, and a similar 3-BR ~$1000, so this should fall safely within that range, in my opinion. Hope that helps.

Are you kidding me. A 3 bedroom is around $1,000 USD ?? that price is ridiculously high for Lao citizens theirs no way the people there can afford a thousand dollars a month for rent. ! Average worker makes only $70- $80/a MONTH !!! looks like the owner will be staying in that vacant apartment by themselves!
@retire_recharge_roam5 ай бұрын
No, I mean that comparable apartments in the middle of the city can be $1000 usd and up. You are right , that is very expensive. Cost of this apartment is in the mid range, based on owner.
