YAY!!! FINALLY!! A tour of an OLD style place!! 💚💚I left a comment on a previous video wishing and hoping (and maybe being annyoing about it? ...I hope not? but also I hope yes? lol), that eventually we could get more tours of people who have places that look old instead of modern, cause god knows there are SOOOOO many modern interior tours and I for one am sick of them LOL Not sure if y'all payed attention to that comment (I highly doubt it lol), but if you did, bless you!!! 💚💚💚💚 I love this tour!!!!

Beautiful ..but saddens me at almost 64. Before one family enjoyed this house, but now people are not having children or even able to afford a house plus have one stay at home parent. Many only have one. I grew up in NYC, in Brooklyn. There would be a set of parents who had 3 to 8 children. This meant more children than adults in a neighborhood. It was playing stickball and roller skating, the fire hydrants on in summer. I recently bought a two family house. My son is a doctor.. it was originally a one family house. 1933. Gorgeous. But crazy expensive even for a doctor with high student loans. This was originally owned by a fireman with 4 children, and then the previous family members, his parents. My two sons both are not planning on having children, life is too expensive to live in a safe area, be a homeowner or a decent house, pay student loans. My neighbors mainly have no grandchildren either... To think I had to sell my home to help my sons get homes is just how it is these days.... But living in a tiny studio paying 2,600 for rent ...is sad. Still can be happy ...but sad that many I know wish to be marry and have children...but life is too expensive . Pretty but sad..
@antaeusguyКүн бұрын
Decoration & interior design wise, I think she did a great job. She is creative and have good taste. But like you said, a tiny studio for $2,600 is just... but this is New York, not Detroit or Newark.... and it is a brownstone house at ground floor level, not a new built apartment. If she can afford it, great for her and I hope she gets to stay there for as long as she wants :)

What a beautiful lady....I imagine Claudia is so much like the grandmother who gave her the gorgeous chair. I think she was meant to live there. If I was the apartment ghost, I could co exist very happily with Claudia and Stanley. I would try very hard not to frighten either of them..... I wouldn't rattle chains or anything. I might draw a smiley face on the bathroom mirror....would that be too much? 🤔👻☺️ I may also write..." I love your style." 😁 I love how Stanley appears to be co presenting. 🩷🩷

Claudia's thoughts are many times like mine. I think of what I would grab if my place was on fire and it would be the sewing machine my Mom gave me and her wedding album and my baby book. Oh my, I better keep a tote bag handy. I live in a historical registered building my apartment is called a Flat. I am no allowed to use nails or molly bolts on the walls. I too have a corner sink first one ever. Pros and cons. I have a board my brother made I put over the sink for extra prepping room and crafting. Limited storage in the kitchen and I have a few of my basket collection with honey bowls on top of the cabinets. I have 2 very small closets no vanity in my bathroom pedestal sink also so I built a mini cubbard myself and use a 3 tier plant stand that I antiqued to match the black and white tile floor. I love in the smallest place I have ever been in and I am very overwhelmed. Claudia has given me some wonderful ideas. I am not allowed to have a cat. 😥 My nephew lives in a very old building too in Brooklyn and brick is on one side of his wall and it's exposed. The green cabinet with the drawers Claudia repainted I would love to own and find and she painted it the color many pieces of furniture I have already dating back to my great grandmother. I would love that cabinet for my sewing supplies and fabric. I loved this video. It is wonderful and such a creative down to earth person has blessed this old home living there. I too was turned down a lot looking for a place during covid no one with elevators were taking new residents only garden style and walk ups. I have a disabled leg so the stairs are hard for me but I'm in a quaint little town with a hardware store that sells fabric and crafts and I am literally 3 min by car from my Dad's 1929 bungalow. I am glad Claudia has Instagram I surely will find her and funny timing to see this on 1/25 /25 as I have an appt to get my hair cut to a bob length similar to Claudia's wearing scarves and hats on these 12 degree days my shoulder length hair has been messy for work. Great pick of a place to film.

Your style of furniture, additions/upgrades and color palette are perfect for your home. The dark wood doesn’t weigh down the appearance of the apartment. I can’t imagine how nice it must’ve been for a family to live in the whole house, and have your apartment as one room. Yes, it’s morbid to think about funerals being held in that room, but when you move into a place with the right energy, you feel protected. I grew up in the Bronx, NY, and left in 1990 when I was 28 years old. I lived in two buildings that were built in the 1920s, and had Art Deco style stained glass windows in their lobby. In each apartment, I loved the hardwood flooring, picture frame moulding, eat-in kitchen and vegetable cooler bin underneath the kitchen window. The studio apartment had a sunken living room and dressing room. The studio rented for $257 per month, and the 1 BR rented for $441 by the time I moved out in 1990. I painted each apartment, and made them a home. The 1 BR place really felt like a country style house, with lots of light flooding in and a view that overlooked a playground. It was a blessing to live in NY and experience living like that, after spending 18 years prior in a public housing project. It’s been a privilege for me to turn all of my residences from east to west coasts into homes, and not live in a sterile, bland space. I don’t miss the fast pace of living in NYC, just the food and attractions. I enjoy watching apartment tour videos to get inspiration for reinventing my living space. Your place inspires me!

Wow, thank you for sharing. An incredible life you’ve lived. But I must admit: it’s the rental rates you paid in 1990 that have me amazed. And in NYC-imagine!
