APC Research Insights | Prof Tony Ryan | Subclinical mastitis in healthy mothers

An APC Microbiome Ireland paper in ASMicrobiology "Somatic cell count as an indicator of subclinical mastitis and increased inflammatory response in asymptomatic lactating women" on subclinical mastitis in humans found a third of the healthy mothers surveyed had subclinical mastitis.
This was one of APCs last research collaborations with neonatologist Prof Tony Ryan, Cork University Maternity Hospital and University College Cork.
