Apex is kind of like a sleeper build in relation to old muscle cars with no special badging...then they drop you like a bad habit when you find it has a 427 side oiler under the hood only to find you were mouthing off with a straight 6. I do like Apex Freedom series, but that does not help the over "presentation view on the bulkier Glock trigger shoes. I have a couple of the Freedom series on my M&P 2.0's. Those are fantastic and I do like the shape of those much better then the Glock shapes, that seem bulkier and not as much "flat" as the M&P's. Overwatch looks a little better for sure, but I have not tried one of those to date.

I had a similar experience with both my gen 5 mos 17 and 19. The 17 is amazing no problems. The 19 was different. the trigger press would get harder and harder. Throught the proccess of elimimation I ended up dropping several diferent conector in. That fixed it. The apex connector was the only one I had this issue with. I contected Apex and they sent me a new connector.

Personally I have a Glock 26, I love the stock trigger. My mindset for just owning this one pistol, a trigger is a trigger. However 😎 just ordered an Apex trigger, let’s see if anything changes.

Dropped a Monarch trigger into my G19/5 and it seems to mirror the Apex shown here in red. Improvement over stock...but not as crisp and overall shootable as the Cz P10's trigger.

Thanks for this, found it researching Gen5 Glock trigger upgrades that are worth the cost and/or effort...2 things on this one... 1) Solid placement of the Street Fighter II "Perfect" sound bite at the beginning. Gonna try that. 2) Yup...Mr's Barker my senior year. HAWT. 3) Nice choice of Olight 4) I don't wear pants in my reviews either. Or shirts. Very liberating, ain't it?

Old video but today I installed the apex trigger shoe (stock bar) and connector in a stock 19.5. It has a very noticeable rolling wall. I switched back to the stock connector and it's similar to your 45. My gen 3 is stock with only the apex shoe and breaks like glass. I'm now looking at the overwatch tac to get a more crisp break

Glocks are all over the place on frame to frame and gen to gen for feel. Pretty crazy how these two were so different.

Hey, I bought this trigger because of you and I was hoping that I would have gotten lucky and got a gen 3 trigger bar, but as luck would have it... No. Anyways, is there anyway to take out the take up out of the gen 5 bar? I hunting desperately for that crisp wall.

You know it's odd how different they reacted. Apex was only using the g3 bars until they caught up with products on the G5 side from glock. Take up is based on the angle the shoe is milled at, but the sponge feeling can be caused by the connector or tolerances in the frame. Apex is one of the companies who does about a 20% reduction on take up so they are duty safe in the various tolerances glock frames come in. If you are looking for more aggressive take up . There are triggers out there but they can get finicky and unsafe at times

Its a nice upgrade over stock while staying factory safe. Make sure to lube the connector before shooting and dry firing. Helps break it in right.

I’ve always appreciated great handguns regardless of brand. I’m not a Glock fan boy but the only downside of Glock is you have to add custom parts out of the box. Once you add those things they are wonderful guns. Sig 320 X series do come out of the box with more of a bang obviously you pay more but your not doing much upgrades. After adding an extended mag release, new iron sights , talon grip and an apex trigger the Glock is beautiful.

They were pulling 4.5# not 4# and 5 ounces. I have the same trigger-scale. For me, the problem is different triggers seem to interact with GHOST fitted trigger-bars. I have ONE Overwatch that paired up insanely well with a Ghost Pro 3.3. I know enough people who like Apex that I'm kinda wondering about trying one out.

I always change out my triggers because I love flat faced triggers. I added the Timney shoe to my gen 5 G19 and that alone is vast improvement over the polymer shoe.

This is what I run. Had issues with the apex connector in the kit. Hated how much it rolled after the “wall”. Kept the apex shoe and put in a Glockstore double diamond connector and it’s 10x better.

I have an APEX in several of my guns and they are fantastic, especially the S&W 2.0's...takes those to a whole new level of outstanding. Question...How do you rate the Apex compared to Tactical Pontoon trigger? I already have the Ghost 3.5 connector and lighter plunger spring in the Apex installed Glocks...works very well, but I would like your opinion on the Tactical Pontoon? In these G5's the lighter plunger spring is a must IMO, it makes a noticeable difference.

James at Tac Pontoon really takes things to a whole different level. It depends on what you are looking for duty, carry or competition. He can make pretty much anything you want. The difference is custom tune or build for bulk . Apex is built for bulk, TP tunes the the frame,gen , model it's going in and gets way more aggressive on the take up and travel.

Good question! Apex used gen 3 bars and machines the trigger spring part off to make them work in G5 housings so it's possible for sure. As far as the shoe I dont know for sure if the pin points are the same but now I'm interested as well

A thought....custom 1911 companies like Wilson offer "options". Why couldn't Glock do the same? They'd make more money. Save us the hassle of buying a GLock, then the night sights, tirgger kit....install it ourselves or get a gunsmith to do it for us. Why not have the Glock ready to go and to our liking? Start with a base $...don't want the options Glock offers? Buy the standard version. Everyone wins.

Joe a lot of people say that and its largely an internet myth.. Now there are triggers out there that are unsafe for sure or maybe geared towards competition only. There is actually case law out there stating modifications are not relevant to a criminal case lacking some form of negligence, IE knowing modifying something to unsafe condition. People often misunderstand civil vs criminal cases. Civilly in self defense your likely to get sued by the family or suspect regardless. I carry various different triggers all the time FACTR, Overwatch and Apex to name a few.. All of them pass all safety chesk/tests. Its a very personal decision same as changing grip stippling, sights, optics anything else which no one seems to say the same about those modifications.

If I were to do only one mud in a Glock? Trigger job. How the trigger feels and how heavy the pulls matter more than aim. Can still use the throw away sights that come with. Also, actual civilian engagement distances are so short it's "point and short"... Assuming there's no more than 2 threats.

I put this in my shield 1.0 9mm and glock 17 gen 4. The shield is amazing! No so much with the glock 17 gen 4. It has a long rolling wall. Sucks. Not sure how to fix this. I'll probably try to sell it asap.

The MP trigger design is way different than glock which is the reason why that travel is there.

Man I think Gen5 is much better trigger then last gens from past but I choose Sig Bc out of the box the 320 trigger is much better n flat shooting gun my x carry has been extremely reliable n accurate as hell. Love my glocks tho to

Gen 5 has a few nice changes I agree. Sig is some what if a high bore axis for me but they are good choices just expensive compared to others

LOL, one of my high school teachers was a former (and not long in the past, either) Miss Louisiana, and she was smoking, to say the least. She obviously was aware of the effect this had on her hormone-crazed male students, too, because she was a real hard-ass, probably more out of self-defense, keeping the appropriate professional distance aspect than anything else. I happened to know her and her husband outside of class, and she wasn't really like that in that environment, but her physical appearance certainly made it difficult to focus on classwork, so I feel your pain there!

If I could get my PPQ trigger in my Glock 19 Gen 5 I would be happy. I polish the heck out of all metal to metal contacts too. I use flitz polish. Hard to beat it.

The overwatch is a bit shorter on take up both are great but I do dig the overwatch a bit more.

All factory slides here. They loosen up after running them or dry cycling.

Its been a long time since I have seen the pyramid in person. Apex is different than the pyramid in shoe design and probably tested much further in depth. Apex tests their trigger from 25 feet onto concrete from a bunch of different angles under a 20k fps camera to show safety function and flex so its one I trust . Hope that helps.
