I like people like you. I recall myself too. I was lying in bed at night. It evoked such a dreamy mental atmosphere.. saw visions of colorful vapours.. the relaxation, the repeating lines.. 'were taking you on a journey'...'this trip is an endless journey'.. life, existence, is an endless trip. I could feel the reality of the lyrics. And then when that glorious lead synth comes in the second half of the track.. goosebumps and tears.

Coimbra, a little city in the center of Portugal, midway between Porto and Lisboa. As all around the world, you feel the modernity there, cars, smartphones, bars, clubs, companies.. but within the city walls remains a powerful and enigmatic energy that sweep the time away. Portuguese peoples would probably call that the " Saudades" spirit. The weight of the past releases so much beauty, that you end up trapped into a state of smooth melancholy. The barriers of time are falling down, and for a few minutes you are touching the infinity. With Journey, I rediscover this feeling. And I see myself again at the top of this ageless city, at the time when the sunset is blessing peoples and the Mondego river reflecting their souls. I still dont know if Coimbra have been built for this track, or this track have been recorded for this city, but they will for sure always embrace themselves.

I'm not sure why, but this song and this "26 Mixes for Cash" album just reminds me of Los Angeles via the world of director David Lynch's Mulholland Drive. Even though I've never been to LA itself, this song somehow transports me there, amidst the weirdness and 50s-esque glory that may or may not be there. Some sort of bliss engages my being when I listen to the woman's words here. As if I'm invited and taking part in a grand party -- a party of bliss.
@camazotzz2 жыл бұрын
I've spend a lot of time in LA and your right this is very LA. I was on Sunset BLVD and this woman looking like the guy from behind Winkies asked me if I "gotta light" for her crack pipe. David Lynch is very good at characterizing the surreal horror of that area. And this Xanax luxury elite sounding song works well with it too.

Despite being a 'young' person I couldn't agree more. MP3s and the internet have largely killed the soul of music in my opinion. However, the internet has made a broader range of music more accessible. But that said you still have to go and look for it, perhaps if decent stores still existed it would be found too.

This song fills me with profound sadness for some reason. Maybe it's because the melody sounds incredibly melancholic, even regretful; like someone who has made the worst decision of their life and now has to live with the consequences for the rest of their life.
@ThatYellowCat7 жыл бұрын
Megane kun well, on my perspective, it's more like the beginning of a bad idea, like, starts like everything is dance and happiness, then, it gets a little sadder, like the begging of a journey, where do you expect an adventure and traveling, but you end with nothing more than a box of bubblegum and cigarettes, this song it's my favorite from all the album tho, pretty good :')
