Hagen's interpretation substitutes the somewhat effeminate fragility of the original with a powerful "manly" voice and she sings the song's sad ending like it's a joke ("I'll remain alone in the end, time is standing still and i'm cold")

It brings back nice memories when Nina Hagen was visiting NYC back in the 1990s and stopped by at the Anthology Film Archives on 2nd St/1st Ave and I took a photo with her and my friend Lisette who used to work there. @@MegaHalodri Selbst zu vorgerückter Stunde wollen wir uns doch bitte nicht in aller Oberflächlichkeit irgendwelchen Spekulationen hingeben. Und aus subjektiver Empfindung und Motivation heraus einem Werk eine generelle Genialität zuzusprechen, halte ich für recht weit hergeholt. Vielleicht war Dein Kommentar auch einfach nur überhastet verfasst. Dies nehme ich mal vorurteilsfrei an und vermerke für mich, dass Du diese Fassung von Seemann genial findest und ich eben gruselig. In diesem Punkt werden wir vermutlich keine Übereinkunft erlangen können, was aber gegenseitiger Sympathie nicht im Wege stehen muss. Schließlich gibt es noch allerlei andere Liebhabereien im Leben. Ich mag z.B. sehr gerne Pommes und würde mich gewissermaßen freuen, wenn wir beiden in diesem Punkt überraschend eine Überschneidung vorweisen könnten. LG

@@AP-lc5ys Klassische Musik partiell schon. In der Erscheinung einer Oper jedoch weniger, da die visuelle Darbietung in meinen Augen mit der musikalischen Qualität oftmals nicht schritthalten kann. Es wirkt mir meist zu künstlich und zu überfahren. Meine bisherigen Erfahrungen waren daher ausnahmslos enttäuschend bzw. nicht den Erwartungen entsprechend. Da lobe ich mir eher ein zünftiges Rammstein-Gedrische mit Explosionen und anderen mutwillig herbeigeführten exothermen Reaktionen - analog hierzu wären natürlich auch AC/DC-Konzerte zu erwähnen. Ob die vielen Flammen bei mir unterschwellig ähnliche Reaktionen wie die Besinnlichkeit eines amtlichen Grillabends hervorrufen, müsste ich mal eruieren. Wundern würde es mich nicht. Vielleicht sollte ich der Annahme folgend nach Operetten mit Detonationen/Temperaturentwicklungen Ausschau halten. Wäre zumindest ein Ansatz.
