Me too. The helplessness of the guy's situation is magnified more that way. This is just so epic that now with the Cielo accenting the feel of the song, it' has spread its wings even more...and of course the mind-blowing guitar solo replicated note for note, which is just so perfectly executed!

There's a part of me that wishes James had actually sung on this, but it doesn't matter, not when you hear all the rest of it. Somehow he managed to ignore a vocal melody he's sung hundreds (if not thousands) of times, and make the delivery of each line meaningful. That takes tremendous work and effort. There are hints of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits in his voice. It sounds fantastic. The orchestration and every other decision made on this song make it new and original. Having a fresh take on a classic is no easy task, but this does it to perfection. It's almost more of a musical art piece than a song, and that's more than okay.

::takes a deep breath:: WHEW! That wasn't just a cover song, that wasn't just an EPIC music video, that wasn't even a symphonic metal MASTERPIECE. That, ladies and gentlemen, was an entire EXPERIENCE!!! Patric Ullaeus has completely surpassed himself as a film director and cinematographer. The juxtaposition of the majestically beautiful cellos and James Hetfield actually speaking the lyrics instead of growling them out was just completely HAUNTING! Having listened to this song literally THOUSANDS of times over the last 30 plus years or so, we have certain expectations when we start hearing those oh so familiar chords and notations playing. Even the eponymous S&M album from over 25 years ago, with it's overly bombastic and brutal orchestral version gave us yet another aspect to the song that we have grown to accept and cherish over the years. THIS, quite literally and simply, destroys EVERY expectation and preconception ONE might have about how this song should sound. Is it the definitive version? NO, we already have that one, and it's perfect in its own right. THIS is simply an offering and homage delivered with love, respect, passion and class. Tough, dirty, gritty, ugly, brutal. But, that's WAR folks. Everyone involved in this project came into it with a very clear picture of what they intended to achieve, and they completely surpassed them. THIS is one of those videos that's going to stick with you for a VERY long time. Apocalyptica has given us something we never even knew we needed, and now that we have it, we're NEVER letting it go.

I discovered these guys in 95 when I went into a record store in Singapore when I was in the Navy and bought the original album. I got my wife into them in 06. I try and tell everyone about Apocalyptica. I hope maybe one day they get a sniff of the RnRHoF.

Pe parcursul auditiei, am asociat-o cu trairile mele din razboiul Sirian. A redat epic puntea dintre viata si moartea iminenta, intunericul si durerea. O interpretare fantastica impresionanta!❤

It's so ironic that I first heard of this band because I accidentally downloaded their Unforgiven cover from Napster, thinking it was Metallica's. Now they feature Hetfield in one of their rendition of One.

Apocalyptica, always had respect for you guys but this song increased it infinitely. You guys are honestly the best. I always look forward to every single one of your songs and am never disappointed. Thank you guys for bringing us all together with your passion. Thanks for all you guys do. Mr. James Hetfield, the way you approached this collab and the choice to speak was perfect. It really put forth emotions that needed to be felt. The original always will remain a masterpiece of a classic. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this. This was not a disappointment and I just want everyone to know who worked on this, you guys are awesome 👍😎
