You might only have to sell a pinky for a PiStorm32-Lite? It would still give your 1200 a kick up the trapdoor! They're on pre-order now at your favourite local Amiga retailer. I'll not be doing a review on one unless I get sent one. Which is very doubtful with the size of my channel.

Why couldn’t you leave storage plugged into the motherboard? How much is this just entirely on the fpga just reading the amiga keyboard and mouse?

As stated in my IceDrake series, the IceDrake basically replaces the Amiga. This wasn't true for the Vampire.

It is a nice feature that 15khz is pushed out the hdmi. Everything else is a bit too overkill for my needs. 🙂

I'm told it's all done on the IceDrake. Though, you can still use the RGB if you so wish.

@@RetroBoxRoom It is much the same way that IndivisionECS works on Amiga600. Well. In the sence that it is not connected directly to the video chip as such, but tapping into the signal in an alternative way.

@@brostenen It's running two sets of Amiga chipsets guided by a common CPU. The two Amiga chipsets should have the same register states.

Thank you. Sadly, I no longer have the Vampire. I sold it, so I could afford the IceDrake. I'll do a Towered Amiga 1200, when someone raises enough to do the conversation. 😀 They're not cheap, and sadly I still have a tiny Channel.

Can you run Internet browsers on it. If so, how is the performance.

Yes, just like you could back in the day. Just now, a lot faster. As for performance, it'll depend on which browser, and which sites you're trying out. Apart from grabbing files directly to the HDD, I wouldn't currently say there's a browser that can handle the modern Internet pages.

Just use a Pistorm, both devices emulate CPU, but PI is a lot cheaper

Can you still use the IEC that is on the A1200 board or is it off and you can only use the two IEC that are on the IceDrake v4? I have had the V1200v2 for two years and it works great, just this month I finally ran a HDMI port, Ethernet port and a micro-SD card reader out the back right corner with a 3D printed part. What are your first thoughts? Do I sell my V1200v2 at a loss so I can buy the IceDrake v4? I know the IceDrake has two IEC on the board, 4X the memory with 512MB and the Ethernet port already on the card. I have been running Coffin r58 for the last 2 years and it works great. Are there any great improvements in v59 or v60 that I should definitely upgrade to v60 or can I just keep using v58?

Currently the EIDE of the IceDrake, overrides the port on the Amiga. If I've got my facts right, currently the 40pin is disabled. I personally sold my v1200v2 at a loss, so I could afford the upgrade, but I'm happy with the price I've let it go for. I upgraded because I wanted everything going through HDMI, rather than having to keep switching from RTG to RGB. The cost a scandoubler, was about the same as the full blown upgrade to an IceDrake. As for Coffin, with a v4 style device, it's possible to have a multi-boot. So one might as well and upgrade then. As for staying with a v2, and upgrading Coffin, then yes, I would recommend the upgrade to r60. Just check out the changelogs, a lot has been updated.

I've been working on my 8 different types of Commodore 8 bits so much that my brain keeps reverting back to the 80's lol.
