I was about to say 'Calling Dual Destinies part of Apollo's journey is a being a bit flexible with the truth, isn't it?' but then I remembered all the stuff he went through with that game and yeah, that's part of his journey too. Showing that he's different from Phoenix, that he cares about the truth rather than just having blind faith. I also love that Phoenix's sprite in the orchestra hall looks nervous, because he used to, officially, be a piano player... but doesn't know how to play the piano.

For sure, but also Spirit of Justice is 100% an Apollo focused story and it is nice that they acknowledge it

@@JHamron Yeah, honestly, Spirit of Justice is what Apollo Justice should have been. Because despite the name, Apollo Justice…. The story is still about Phoenix. About how he lost his badge and his investigation into Kristoph. Think about how much character development poor Apollo got in Apollo Justice. Or rather, how little. He got a lot more in Dual Destinies and especially in Spirit of Justice.

@@ShadowdaHedgie11 I don’t know, I’d say he developed a fair amount in Apollo Justice. At least in terms of gaining more confidence as a lawyer. Besides, the original Phoenix Wright game didn’t give Phoenix a ton of development, either. But the game is still about him because without him, without a lawyer who believes in what he does, the game can’t happen.

I’m glad they called this the Apollo trilogy. Make no mistake, Phoenix had a role to play in these stories (playable in about 8-9 of 16 total cases including DLC), but Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice were really passings of the torch to Phoenix’s apprentice. Also, with how Spirit of Justice ended, we’ve no idea if he’ll return to the main series for Ace Attorney 7.

If there is an ace attorney 7, he's probably going to be the focus of a DLC case. Hopefully 7 focuses on Athena since she was underutilized in SOJ

Athena was pretty much an afterthought in Spirit of Justice despite being the triagonist, and given the least relevant pity case of the game (sans DLC) only because the story invoked Superman Stays Out of Gotham for that particular case. Yes, it served to balance out the hyper-focus Dual Destinies had on her and how pushed aside Apollo was, but still, Athena could and should have some limelight in Ace Attorney 7, coming into her own properly. Also, we can learn about her time in Europe, see the Themis Legal Academy trio again, or even have Athena spend time with Pearl and/or Trucy.

Apollo Justice was a passing of the torch. Dual Destinies was an extremely awkward, forced and unnecessary taking back of the torch. Spirit of Justice was an almost passing of the torch except Phoenix was playable in 4 out of 6 cases while Apollo only got 2 so most of his journey happened... offscreen.

AA4 is one of my favourite games in the series. Everything from its art to its story is amazing! Excited to see how they localise Klavier for a German audience... Presumably they make him a loud american

Apollo Justice was translated to German for the DS originally! :) They didn't change much with Klavier, except changing his name to Kantilen for somewhat obvious reasons ^^

Seriously do yourself a favor and play the original trilogy, Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and this if you haven’t already. Loved the franchise ever since I finally played it a few years ago and I hope beyond all hope we get to see a new game in the near future! At least localized ports/remakes/remasters of the Investigations games (hopefully with the Professor Layton crossover included). I would love seeing them either fully remade and 3D or (my favorite option) in the HD 2D style like Octopath and the Live A Live remake!

I’m still finishing Dual Destinies DLC case, but the main story in that one is pretty good! If you enjoyed the first four games it’s definitely worth your time. I haven’t played Spirit of Justice yet, but hopefully I’ll enjoy that one too

looking at the website for the game, i'm surprised that it's passed with a T and 12 rating. dual destinies was rated an M and 16 respectively (and not for nothing, mind you), so i would think the whole compilation would have an M or 16 or get one of those multiple rating classifications.
