What I wanna see in Ace Attorney 7: - Gumshoe! - More of Phoenix's backstory. We know all about Apollo's upbringing and Athena's traumatic childhood, but aside from the class trial and his relationship with Dahlia/Iris, we know nothing about Phoenix's past. I wanna see his parents! - I think it'd be great if they'd bring back Shelly de Killer for another case. He's technically the only killer to never have been caught, and I think it should stay that way, but it'd be a great twist if he was to rock up for another case (and in a new disguise) only to evade capture again.

i know i´m late but in terms of Phoenix`s backstory there is nothing more to tell we already got his backstory on why he became an Attorney in the first place. because he wanted to help his friend Edgeworth as well as protect those that can`t protect themselves. we also got to play through Phoenix`s very first case in the 1st game and see how he went from a noob in the 1st game to a full fledged Ace Attorney in Trials and Tribulations. heck T&T was even suppose to be the last game according to the director of the series. he thought Phoenix`s story was already told and i agree completely though i do not mind having Phoenix as a mentor for Apollo and Athena in fact i find it great but in terms of main focus Phoenix should rest he`s done more than enough to deserve it.

Honestly I'd love to see more about Phoenix. Despite being the main character for most of the games, you don't know much about him. Athena, Edgeworth and Apollo have more backstory than him and that's kinda sad to me. Obviously I don't know what they'd do with Phoenix regarding his backstory, but they managed to pull it off with Apollo so...

Since my reply is three years later I'm gonna assume you've learned what is actually going on there, so I'll briefly explain it. Basically it's a civil trail and they're arguing about what the founders orb actually is, but Phoenix is only the 'prosecutor' because guess what? MAYA WAS KIDNAPPED AGAIN! So Phoenix was FORCED to go against Apollo and I'm genuinely amazed that he managed to keep his cool for so long and not give much for hints during the whole thing... Until he eventually broke down and HURT MAH HEAAART ;-;

Super unpopular opinion but it'd be a novelty at best IMO. When you actually read the texts out loud you notice how much the dialogue goes in circles to create build-up every single time you present evidence or answer something. It works super well in writing, but when fully voiced it's bound to sound cool at first, then get annoying after a while.

Go play the original trilogy NOW!!! You can get it on the 3DS eShop. One of the greatest stories in gaming and one of the best Visual Novel series ever made. If you really don't want to play the games I would recommend the anime that came out recently. The anime is in the middle of the second game right now. Though I would still suggest playing the games first.

Basically, the original game was about a lawyer who wanted to help people who were wrongly accused and had to find the real culprit of a case using logic and evidence. The prosecutors would only care about "winning" and getting the people guilty, whether or not they actually are, and would sometimes hide truth and evidence that points away from the defendant. It seems stupid and ridiculous at first, but you then get sucked in, and it becomes really fun.

Intense murder trials in a near-broken legal system, defending the innocent as a defence attorney, jerkass prosecutors, zany witnesses, tons of references, and amazing music. Pretty much that.

Ace Attorney Trilogy is has the first 3 games and it's 30 bucks in the eShop. Then there's Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for DS, you can get that on Amazon. And then there's PW:AA - Dual Destinies, also 30 bucks on the eShop. That's all you need to catch up. Trust me, it's worth it.
