One of the finest reviews I’ve ever watched in any category. Top-notch camera work and editing with tons of data and relevant comparisons to inform the viewer and back up your conclusions. As for the scooter itself, the Phantom is (almost) as clean looking as the Pegasus, with even more power and better braking than the Eagle One or Mantis Pro. Add in the class leading suspension and display and we have a winner. If I had to buy right now this would be the one, but I’m going to wait until summer to see if we get a Pegasus Pro, an Eagle TWO, a Mantis Pro SE V2 or a Phantom V3. When good companies compete, the consumer wins and very soon one of these companies is going to tick all the boxes and they’ll all have to follow suit or lose market share. Until then I’ll crave the HyperScrambler2 which has the power, range, instrumentation, display & clean looks that tend to come with a third-generation product. You wouldn’t want to take it on the train, but then again you might never ride a train again, just ask my son!

i've clocked almost 2000 miles on mine and id have to say it was a blast and thats coming from a guy who owns a 2018 ktm excf350 sadly I put less miles on the dirt bike in 21 so I could ride the scooter! so much fun I crashed once and it sucked so be careful people.... I love the sound of no motor I love being able to ride on parkways and places that you aren't allowed to ride gas vehicles.

Wow, excellent job on this! What a fantastic review, so thorough and detailed. Other channels sometimes focus on just having great shots and fancy B-roll but this was entirely to the point rather than focusing on making the video "look cool". I've had an Apollo Explore for about 5 months but starting to feel its limits and wondering if I shouldn't have bought a more powerful model instead. So I might upgrade next year, and this seems like it would be a great candidate for a spec bump. I've loved my experience with an Apollo scooter so far and would definitely consider them again. The only point I find a little out of my preference range with this model is the weight, but I'm sure I'd get used to it. I wish scooter manufacturers offered versions of their scooters that are just as powerful but have a range of 20 miles instead of 45. For customers who ride under 5 miles 99% of the time and don't mind carrying a charger to work (or leaving one there), this would be a great way to cut down on weight without sacrificing performance.
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a bunch, man! Much appreciated. It's definitely a huge bump up in power (once you try a dual-motor setup, the difference is clear). It's an absolute powerhouse and super fun to ride. But as you mention, the added weight will be a problem for some. I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with too many stairs, so it's not a big problem for me as it stays upright most of the time. If you rely on placing it in a trunk, you definitely need to measure and make sure it'll fit beforehand (the non-foldable handlebars measure 27.2"). The Phantom is easily one of my favorite scooters and probably the most impressive package overall - hope to see them upgrade the waterproofing in 2022, however - that'll set them way apart of the competition.

Great review. Very impressive work. Thanks. However, it seem as if scooter manufacturers are stuck in a particular mindset re lights and turn signals. Almost as if they see them as just an optional extra. Personally, I'd like to see a lot more reviewers marking manufacturers down more on this issue. If you've had a near miss, or worse, a car v scooter incident, I bet you'll agree. At least we see a really decent high light on the Phantom here. Well done Apollo. However, at the very least, I think we should be seeing ultra bright front signals up as high as possible. For the front, maybe integrated into the brake lever brackets of all scooters and rear light/signals integrated into the back edge of the footrest if there is one, or at least the deck if there's no foot rest. It annoys me that my Vsett 9+ has the signals mounted into the deck which makes them so much harder for motorists to see when I have to ride on the road, particularly during the day. You're kidding yourself if you think that your low indicators are always visible to motorists. This is a really important safety issue, and I'd rather pay a little more for a scooter and stay alive. Very disappointing to see this lack of design finesse yet again on an otherwise high quality scooter.
@Namdor2012

VSETT 9+R has only 650 W dual and is a lot cheaper than the Power plus which has 1200 W dual...Would be fairer to compare the vsett 10+...New Powerplus V2 has a 1400 W dual option, see how that stacks up against the Vsett 10+, same price and same specs roughly.....Interesting times, Vsett has lifted the bar now the rest have to dig deep and equal or better it.....I prefer the fold down bars on the Vsett, needing to stow it away and if needed can replace with solid handle bars..Vsett has a better stem, better build quality..

@@DavidRodriguez-ox1uu my purpose in buying it was to use commuting to and from truck stops while on break, for meals and short excursions in mostly urban areas. The Phantom is a bit larger, heavier and more vehicle than I imagined. Lifting it into and out of a commercial vehicle is not easy as I literally have to power lift it above my head. The Phantom is very capable in grass and fields but not so much in sand or soft terrain, perhaps with off road tires like the Ghost I'm sure that would be different. I love it don't get me wrong but I am considering a smaller scoot for my needs above.

Just fyi you would ride further in eco/slow mode in dual. Using 1 motor uses more power, losing it through heat and rolling against the unpowered motor. Otherwise great review thanks ....i would say 160mm rotors is too big for 250mm wheels, they are too close to the ground and will pick up grit and too easily knocked into driveways curbs etc.. i agree about the lack of front turn signals... also i'm wondering if there are folding handlebars available

I love this scooter....way better than the last one I had with a very wobbly folding mechanism. (Varla eagle one) Only complaint...I hate how touchy the throttle is. It's a very fine line between not moving and nearly full acceleration. It needs to be more linear. I would also hadd color changing deck lights and swappable deck grip tape designs. I think skater tape is gripper than the rubber it comes with

Apollo should still sell the v2 with the key option or they should try incorporating a fingerprint locking system. Just a suggestion, I don't know much. And also more speed and higher IP rating. Maybe a bell..
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 2 жыл бұрын
We definitely need innovation on locking options for the entire e-scooter industry. The V1 keylock is used by many brands and is super cheap and feels that way too. Not to mention, it's a false sense of security to a degree as, if you know what you're dealing with, that specific keylock can be hotwired in under a minute (there have been several reports of people getting their scooter stolen this way). A fingerprint locking system would be a better bet. Hopefully, we see a company tackle this issue properly in 2022. Until then, a strong U-lock is my best friend. Although I didn't get to touch on it in this video (it'd be too long), I've written about both the IP54 rating and lack of a bell/electronic alarm in my written review - I definitely agree these are two things that Apollo want to look into to take the Phantom even further. Thanks for watching! More to come.

Yes, I have. Ridden it through puddles and on wet muddy trails (it's been plenty dirty) and the ride hasn't been affected. Still, it's always recommended to wipe it down after use (which I didn't). The most vulnerable spot would probably be where the cables from the front connect with the deck, but it's still miles better done than on Kaabo Mantis models (speaking from experience as I burnt a controller on one of those). Hope that helps.
