I ordered an Apollo Phantom V3 a few days ago because of your videos. I did look at the other Apollo models (including the Ghost that another commenter had mentioned), but the Phantom seemed to be the right fit for me, not to mention the specials that Apollo is running right now for Father's Day. Your videos also make me want to come visit Montreal again -- it's been way too long!

Oh really? Well, I don’t wanna give you any purchase regrets or anything, but while the phantom is great, in retrospect I personally wish I went with the nami Klima or the segway gt1.

​@@bubblemagic8664 Not OP but I have a V3 and I can share what I find lacking. 1) App sucks. You have to open it, manually connect to BT and then hit start/end to log your trip information. 2) Stock tire is made from Nylon, not Rubber and has poor performance characteristics. If I lean too far over, the tire 'shudders' as it can't maintain grip. 3) Unbalanced wheels. I ended up buying lead weight that stick on in order to balance my wheels as I was getting a vibration over 50kph which got worse as I go faster (>65kph). That's it. The other issues I have aren't specific to Apollo but to escooters in general (single points of failure, 10 inch tires etc.) The escooter itself is awesome. I wish the app was better but you don't need it to ride. I also wish they had gas filled shocks vs. spring shocks but again, that's minor as it does a decent job out of the box. I do highly recommend buying PMT tires though. Huge difference.

Thanks for the video. Make more of these ride videos please. There's a serious lack of them out there, and I think a lot of people that are waiting for their Phantom V3 to arrive would love to watch it in action. That bridge ride looked really relaxing; I'm jealous.

Mine is being shipped in 3 days. I have the '22 Apollo Ghost & I can't afford the brake pads, my god it chews them up. I ride mostly roads & some gravel/dirt paths & have 'winter' tires on my Ghost - and I'd say I average about 50km/h but I slow down around pedestrians (almost to a crawl) & try to decrease my speed around bicycles. I rarely ride below 50v levels & the lowest I've had the battery to is half way. I wonder what difference the larger motors & more batteries will make re: acceleration, top speed, distance, charging? I'm happy with my Ghost's speeds (have them all cranked up to 5 - max, I've only ever used mode/gear 3 - why intentionally limit your OWN top speed, I doubt the purpose or even existence of a gear iteration & with a specific button dedicated. Why not just 'condom mode' (eco) as I call it? Dull everything to stretch out the mileage - but 3 speeds? That's silly. Don't want to go fast, slow down then! You can tell I don't design scooters... Pont Samuel De Champlain - that's a great scooter friendly bridge - you could commute using that bridge almost 10 months of the year, and you'll likely get across before the actual traffic. Doesn't seem to have much of a climb / descent angle. That thing hanging off the right handlebar - is that a light? It almost looks like a radar detector...Also, I noticed you use the front brake more than the regen - I also make really fast stops & when I rode my motorcycle, the front brake was always the most effective. I use both brakes on my Ghost since they're either full of dirt or squeal like a 2 ton pig. That's with clean rotors & new pads. Didn't go with hydraulic brakes because I thought this would be a fun hobby on the weekend, not my daily driver.

thanks for the comment. This bridge is indeed great. almost no people on it, so I can go fast. I do go slower when there is more traffic. Just gotta be more careful and respectful. For the gear, I set it and forget it to gear 3, because (a) I hear Ludo mode is can cause overheating, and I don't wanna risk it for 5km/h more. (b) at higher speed than gear 3, my tire begins to cause vibrations. I never use other "gears" The thing hanging off the handlebar is indeed a blinking light (it is on the heavy side, which is why I let it hang upside down) When I brake, I use a bit of regen and right lever at the same time because I wanna get the muscle memory locked in, so that if there's an emergency, I have my right hand ready because regen alone will not be enough. It's been almost 3 months of riding on that thing and raked up 2000km on it. goes pretty hard. no real issues so far... But i do maintain it regularly.

it can pull in terms of acceleration. But I like to set mine at low acceleration. I'm more of a cruiser.

@@GavinGrewal-np9sq I have acceleration set at 10 and regen set at 10.. its amazing.. There is no tire spinning whats so ever, because theres no dead space in the throttle.. you should give it a try!! and the regen it does not make you skid or anything.. its so crazy! I barely use the mechanical brakes anymore!

@@aqd84 that’s weird my phantom 60v only goes up to 1-5 on acceleration and regen goes from 1-3 and I have my acceleration set to 4 and my regen set to 1 normally and that is fast enough for me!! the v3 sounds fast dude. Ride safe 🛴

I love mine except the rear brake rubs the tire so bad. The replacement pads don’t fit in the caliper? Any ideas

Does the rear brake rub against the tire? Or the rotor? If it’s the latter, you could unscrew the brakes slightly, pull on the brakes, and then retighten the brakes. That will recentrer the pads to the disk. If it’s the former, sorry I’ve never heard of that before. But my guess is to get other tire that is not so wide as to rub against the calipers.

@@thiethie2-pc5gr it’s the tire. The replacement calipers don’t have the extra metal in the way but the metal plate for those calipers doesn’t fit inside the break housing

Did you resolve your brake issues? I've been battling issues with my brakes for the '22 Ghost. Same size tire, not sure if the same brake pads.

@@NunchucksHabit I filed down the fins on the top of the brake pads so nothing rubs anymore. I also filed down the edges of the replacement brakes, and now they fit inside the calipers.

What was your controller temp at the end?

I don’t use the app when riding so I don’t know. But I am on gear 3 here and I have never experienced any temp issues or controller shutdown or anything like that even in 30deg Celsius weather. I never go on Ludo though because I hear it can overheat and I don’t wanna deal with that.

@@thiethie2-pc5gr Did you install any mods to help with heat? With my V3, I could get it to overheat easy if I went into LUDO mode but since adding 2 thermal pads, 1 above/1 below the controller, I don't ever come close. I would hit >90C and now I never see more than ~65C.
