Fabulous performance and what a magnificent voice ! This is by far the best performance that I have heard. In my opinion, a better performance than Joan Sutherland's definitive version. The band are really on the ball here: I love the bit at 3:23 where the concertmaster signals the 1st violins to copy the ornament that Amanda Forsythe sings. Brilliant improvisation!

Handel would surely approve. She was brilliant. She paid homage to Sutherland in several embellishments. Wonderfully sung. Would love to see a production of Alcina in the old style with lavish period costumes here in the USA. Starts with a generous donation, as we all know.
