There are so many similarities between Muhammad and Joseph Smith that many people have referred to Islam as "medieval Mormonism". Speaking of which, here are twenty-four similarities: 1. Both claimed to be visited by angels. 2. Both men claimed supernatural experiences. 3. Both were told that all existing religions were false. 4. Both of them were told they would restore true religions on earth. 5. Both religions teach a works salvation. 6. Both wanted to unite all people under what he thought was the one “true” religion. 7. Both rejected the Bible and said it was changed by men, corrupted, and unreliable. 8. The sayings of both founders were written down and came to be viewed by their followers as "inspired" by God. 9. Both claimed their holy book was the most correct and perfect book on earth. 10. Both founders later received "corrections" to their inspired scriptures. 11. Both founders became military leaders. 12. Both claimed that they were persecuted because of their pure faith. 13. Both "prophets" began as monogamists but became polygamists. 14. Both borrowed other religious ideas of their day. 15. Both religions fought over who would lead after the founder died. 16. Both groups are actually ruled more by the words and/or the works of the prophets than the key inspired book. 17. Both religions have "fundamentalist" factions who are violent and/or anti-social. 18. Both deny Jesus’ eternal deity. 19. Both deny that Jesus' death on the cross paid for all the sins of everyone who repents and puts their trust in Him. 20. Both gave dietary laws to their followers. 21. Both require devout followers to wear specific types of clothing. 22. Both put women on a lower level than men. 23. Both have their own versions of heaven / paradise. 24. Both men claimed to be God's prophet. However, two MAJOR differences between Islam & Mormonism are: 1) According to Islam, Muhammad was the 'last and final prophet', whereas Mormonism teaches Joseph Smith was a prophet. 2) Islam teaches there is only one god (monotheism), whereas Mormonism teaches that a man can 'become a god' (polytheism).

So the battle of camel aishia vs ali almost wiped all the muslims out in islams 1st century. And i suppose that aishia was a warrior woman early on some how people say that islam is for womans rights, and muhammad was the OG as a feminist. But the only thing cooler than a battle camel is what alexander the great had, battle elephants which maybe where the lord of the rings gets war elephants was inspired by alexamder the great war stories and his conquest.

Good stuff but just few pointers and feedback: The golden age decline theory (esp in reference to Ghazali) has been thoroughly refuted in the contemporary academia. Please read the works of George Saliba, Michael Cook, or any other contemporary academic of Islam. Science and technology continued flourishing in the Islamosphere centuries after Ghazali and Mongol destruction of Baghdad. Muslims went on to establish super powers like Ottomans in Europe and gun power empires like Mughals in India in big part due to their scientific and technological superiority. West pulled ahead post 18th century for myraids of reasons but that's another topic. Most of the Islamic practices had already solidified in the time of Muhammad. Its just that the centralization under Abbasids allowed these practices to spread across the newly converted populations far away from Mecca (where Islam began). For example, it didnt take centuries to make 5 prayers a standard practice. It already was standard among the earliest Muslims. 3 out of the 5 prayers are mentioned in the Quran itself (which the guest himself admits to having been finalized within the first generation of Muslims under Omar-Uthman).

I see the comparison to the Mormons, but with the “LDS” and the “FLDS”. Obviously the Mormons split due to the family and the split with Brigham, but the real fragmentation is when the state came in as an authority to stop the polygamy. They both read the same book, but in their words “they are different”. Sad Hypocrisy.

I lived in Utah when I was a child. Never once did, I hear a Mormon say that his faith was in the blood of Jesus Christ.
