The JW version of the Bible was supposedly transcribed from Greek. The problem is that the man who did it didn't speak, read or write Greek. That was proven in court. The Watchtower Organization goes to great lengths to prevent it's members from discovering this. Reading the Bible by yourself is frowned on. And many other tactics to stop the pursuit of truth. In short it's a cross between a publishing company and a cult. There are also well engineered financial ploys to keeping the believers in line. Plus heavy punishment for acting on one's own. Such as a strict form of shunning. This is both financial and social. Like I said, this is a cult. And the cult comes before God.

@Sean Shaw It’s not that far off from anyone who does a little research. However, Jeff is wrong in his explanations. For example, when he says firstborn means preeminent that is not what the original Greek meant. The Greek Proto-tokos literally means what the Bible says. Proto means first or only, as in prototype. Tokos means to bring forth or give birth to. The “preeminent one” definition was added as an alternate definition to appease people who pushed the trinity doctrine because they needed an alternate definition in order to keep claiming what they had been saying. The other Greek word for only-begotten is the same thing. Mono-genes. Mono meaning one or only as is monochromatic, mononucleosis, monogamous, monorail, etc. and genes, guess what, is like what it sounds like. Think about when someone says “brown eyes are in his genes”. Genes means to beget, which means to father or to bring forth. As in the King hopes to beget a son as an heir. So only-begotten literally means that Jesus was the only being directly created by God. Proverbs 8:22-30 show that Jehovah created Jesus as the beginning of His way, and verse 30 shows that after being created, Jesus then worked alongside God as a master worker, helping create everything else. Colossians 1:15 & 16 make perfect sense. Jesus is the image of His father, the invisible God. He is the firstborn of all creation and through him (Jesus) all things (besides himself), so, all other things, were created.

Or as important as accurate understanding so you can dismiss false teachings like the trinity and get to know the true God, (Deuteronomy 4:35 American Standard Version 35 Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that Jehovah he is God; there is none else besides him.) His purpose for the earth and mankind, what the kingdom is that Jesus taught his disciples about(Matthew 6:9-10) , what are “the last days “ (2 Timothy 3:1-5), etc. Satan and the demons know the Bible from cover to cover. They can twist it and deceive people. I’m sure they’ve read it more than you. So, who cares who’s read it more. Do you apply what you read? Do you use the Bible to discern the truth? There is more than one spirit being used to preach. Just because you feel the spirit doesn't make it holy. Just because you believe the spirit has opened your eyes to the truth doesn't mean you should disregard scriptures that clearly contradict your beliefs and feelings. Everyone is afraid to say I don't know to questions these days like they should have all the answers. Nobody has all the answers but God. And he doesn't tell us everything. Only what we need to know, which is who and what to love and why we should love and when we should love. It is the greatest commandment. We should focus more on that love than our own personal pursuits. And let go of the animosity and hatred. It says to hate what is bad, but it also says there are those who take the bad as good and the good as bad, those who take bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. We need to search hard and long before we make hasty presumptions about any other faith. Who is right and who is wrong. Who is putting their love first? What is that love? Is it the focus of their lives? Where did they learn this love or gain this experience and wisdom for love? What is your love? Extract the rafter before you can see clearly to help others!!!

I think that it is wonderful when people with different views can really listen respectfully. While I agree with the male pastor, I am very, very impressed with these young women. Without the knowledge of the Greek language, the Bible can often be very difficult to understand fully. I read the Bible daily and have a college education, but it is by reading and by listening to pastors (such as these young men) that often these passages become more meaningful.

They are very well organized and keep their children on the straight path as much as they can understand in belief of God. But looking at their most recent article on their website (2017) it sounds like they're not saying IUDs are bad, but just "potentially" bad. That's still deeply problematic, to be sure. But I wouldn't go as far as saying they "believe in abortion". They just don't stand against it as accurately and strongly as they should if they really believe that is is murder. They confuse old covenant works (circumcision, feasts, animal sacrifice) with obedience to Christ. Obedience Christ is not a work of the old covenant law. Christ brought us the new covenant. To be saved you absolutely must obey Christ. If you aren't obeying Christ then you haven't made him your Lord. Well. In my personal opinion and based on my experience. You can't just throw all of the laws to Some one you are evangelizing to. It will definitely stir up a fight or push away the other person. Instead, slowly follow up with love and show them those verses when you invite them to fellowship. What's most important is a personal relationship with God. The most common is that of the Catholic teachings. Now you see, a lot of what has been taught around the world is the Beliefs of Constantine's Philosophies and his orders to change the System of Beliefs(Creeds) with the Nicaea Council were final, and the Bishops who opposed his beliefs had no say in it. Before Constantine's ruler-ship During the 2nd siege of Jerusalem in the 1st Century C.E, the Israelite's(Gods true Followers) fled the city before Titus and his army had arrived(Luke 21 : 20-24). And the Israelite's had with them the Original Bible Manuscripts containing Gods Name, which is the four letter Hebrew word יהוה (Tetragrammaton) "YHWH" Yahweh, or Jehovah in English. The Pharisees(Rabbis) had destroyed all other copies of the Original Bible Manuscripts, and ordered Scribes to write new ones but replacing Gods name with "LORD". For example ISAIAH 42 : 8 says "I am LORD, your GOD". LORD is not a name, it is a TITLE. Due to the Pharisees implementing the "Fence Laws" they refused to Proclaim Gods name to the nations. You see what you have learnt today is mostly the Bible beliefs of the Roman Catholics, and being that most Christians have similar beliefs to Catholics its a majority rules. True Christian Teachings is a lot deeper than you think, but whats important is to Follow the Bible Principles and apply them within our daily lives.

In Deuteronomy 25:18 they had no fear of God and rather to be obedient children they rebelled; and then God wage war with them because they chose death rather then God's salvation. They were an enemy of God to prove that their strength of their gods is greater than God's.

It's actually amazing to see such a beautiful dialogue between two very contrasting belief systems like this. I believe as the 2 gentleman do, but I had a conversation just this last summer with 2 fantastic ladies that were from the same belief system as these 2 ladies are, and they were wonderful to talk to. We may not see eye to eye on our most basic beliefs in Christ Jesus, but that doesn't mean we must hate one another, I pray for them, and all people from other walks of life, we must always remember, to love one another, as Jesus has loved us, we can either plant the seeds, or water it, but it is God who gives the increase. The righteous will posses the earth and live forever on it. What did Jesus teach us to pray for in the model prayer at Matthew 6:9-10? Our Father in heaven, let your name be sanctified. Jesus wanted everyone to know his Father’s name, Jehovah. Let you kingdom come. Let your will take place as in heaven also upon earth. God’s kingdom is His government. We are asking for the kingdom rule over the earth so it can return to perfect conditions with peace, like heaven. What was God’s purpose for the earth? Is God cruel? Did he intend for people to be born imperfect, suffer from pain, crime, violence, illness, mental illness, etc. just to see if they are worthy to go to heaven? That would be cruel. However, that is not what the Bible teaches. The conditions the world is in today is not what God intended for the earth or mankind. The Bible talks about a time when God’s original purpose for the earth and mankind will be restored.

Pastor Jeff, just wanted to give some humble feedback. I really admired and praise God for the work that you do. I was simply wanting to make a comment to you about your sunglasses. I find that when having a conversation with someone, it's respectful and also creates more of a connection when you can both look into each others eyes. Without sunglasses on there is never the chance of coming across as deceptive or disrespectful of the person one is trying to witness to. Which is why my feedback/advice would be if you happen to remember to take off your sunglasses (of course as long as you don't have a medical reason to keep them on). Notice how the young lady in the white dress has her sunglasses on her head because she knows shes talking to someone and also does it out of respect. Hope my advice doesn't come across wrong in anyway. God bless.

However try talking to a police officer while keeping your sunglasses on and after he has you remove them. Ask him why he had you take them off....same point I was trying to make. But I also added that you could disregard my feedback especially if he has a medical reason for keeping them on for example his eyes watering or being too sensitive. Great Point. Also, i do have some concern for the teachings that use Paul's writings as a reference. There is contradictions in the writings of Paul to what Jesus said. Also, Paul's conversion came by being met by the light and claiming that in that light Jesus talked to him there. But jesus said he wouldn't return until the end. But he made an exception for Paul's conversion. They’re called scriptures which were written by the jews as sacred scriptures. The first 5 of the Hebrew bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. This was there original go to scriptures known as there own book, the Torah. The JW's show ALL the signs of a cult: they are not allowed to read "apostate material", they shun family and friends for leaving the cult, they practice a form of mind control by saying the Watchtower is God's organisation and everyone else will receive damnation during the end-times, they have misused "blood laws" from the Old Testament and will refuse to give members a blood transfusion (even children), they have a duty to work for the Watchtower (not Jesus) going door to door for their eternal salvation, they shun having a career because "the end-times are coming" and they are always making false predictions about the Apocalypse which they always get wrong, they think the 144,000 in Revelation applies to themselves even though Revelation tells you this was the 1st fruits of Christians (1st century/generation), etc.etc. The cultic doctrines they've invented are endless.

Consider the outcome of their way of life and 👉🏾imitate their faith.👈🏾 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you. Who are the LEADER or perhaps THOSE TAKING THE LEAD in these text? Who was Paul, a genuine apostle of Christ, telling the Hebrews to submit to their authority? Obviously, they were spiritual men because he also encouraged them to “imitate their faith” and “consider their life” and “Have confidence” in their authority because they serve as watchmen over us to give an account. I don’t know. What you’re saying doesn’t appear to square up with effectively reading the Bible.

I was baptized at 14 at the Dodgers stadium...and am so happy that I got free from that cult at 18. So happy God showed me who He is in 1986...when He sent 2 JWs to our very secluded house and was led to just read the book of John from beginning to end. Was born again by believing and knowing Jesus Christ IS LORD!! Thank you Lord!!

@Ann Cameron So at 18 you knew it all? What part of John helped you see that “Jesus is Lord”? Was it John 1:14 where we see that Jesus had a glory as that of an only-begotten son from a Father? Or verse 18 that clearly explains that no one has seen God at any time, but the only-begotten god, Jesus, who is at the Father’s side, is the one who explained God to us? Or is it John 2:16-18 that clearly show Jesus is God’s son, His only-begotten son? Was it perhaps John 3:35 that tells us the Father loves the son and has given all things into his hand? Perhaps it was John 5:19-38 where Jesus discussed being sent by his Father and doing his Father’s will? Was it John 6:27 that tells us that the Father, God himself, puts his approval on or verses 38-40 where Jesus explains that he came down from heaven, not to do his own will, but to do the will of his Father, who sent him? Maybe John 8:42 where Jesus said that he came from God. Or, verses 53-59 where Jesus explains that he existed in heaven before Abraham’s day and that his Father bears witness about him? Yes, the entire book of John shows Jesus explaining over and over to the people and the Pharisees that he was sent by God, his Father, that he was here to do his Father’s will and that he came to sacrifice himself for mankind and die for our sins. Jesus is Lord, but he showed repeatedly that he is subject to His God and Father, Jehovah. (John 20:17)
