It was a pleasure meeting you and thank you for the plug for KIDTRUTH on youtube!😁. I couldn't find the ON THE AT song on spotify, and feel bad that he didn't add it there. I expect to see you by the time you get to West Virginia and maybe before that. Family emergency took me off trail for a MONTH😢 but I will jump north to SNP mid April and you should pass me again. I carry 2 small fuel canisters, marked A and B and when one is empty I put another one in so I always have it. Pretty soon it will be so hot we will be ditching our fuel and going stoveless anyway. I have lost my tramily 5 times, but chalk it up to having 5 times MORE friends than most hikers. You are SO WONDERFUL and upbeat, by now you have found others to add to your hike. See you sometime soon-- you can BET you will pass me and BabyBoomerbackpacking in the future.

My cousin started with me and left at Franklin. My daughter joined me at Hot Springs and we fell out 450 miles later and she went home. Each time was hard, heartbreaking and scary. My tramly happened in Pennsylvania. We made it to the end. I feel you. It isn’t fun but you are great. You just keep being you. I also stayed at the shelter 3 miles from town. Not only there but many places. Then I could have 24 hours in town just about instead of coming in late and scrambling to resupply and get out of town the next day. I liked neros. I hope someone came into the shelter and helped you out with your fuel situation. A hard end of the day for sure. Enjoy your time in town and turn the page. A lot more hikers to meet along your journey. Hike on.

Hard day. You made the right decision to listen to your body and stop. Sorry you are having such a difficult time. Don’t worry about the tramily. You will find a group that hikes at your speed and form a new tramily. That is a part of the magic of the trail providing. Just hard to see when you are having a hard day. I have confidence in you. Hike on Bad Bat!

Well booo! That’s no fun at all. I’m sorry you were all alone. And to run out of fuel too. Definitely testing your tenacity. You can pull through this! I’m rooting for you. Hope the next day was improved.

I had a similar situation happen on the CT last year. Ended up meeting my great friend treasure about 80 miles down the trail. Hiked the remainder 250 Miles of the trail with him. Looking back at it I was highly upset at the time but i don't think i would've met such a great friend if i didn't get separated from the people i had been hiking with.

You are so right, every now and then I get a bit concerned about which direction to go when you get to an intersection. I live just off the AT and we have found hikers wandering up our paved roads in the fog because they missed the turn even though there is a double blaze to alert to the turn. Sorry about the cold dinner, but you were bound to have that once in a while. Glad we (your listener/viewers) were along to keep you company.

Try not to be too down, you had wanted to stay at the shelter, It is a bummer everyone else went into town but "It happens" you never know what they may have needed as well. Sometimes you pick up new tramilies as you travel. I know its a huge bummer bc you guys were fortunate enough to stay together for so long, remember to enjoy the journey & people when you meet them, expect random changes of plans and Keep your positive attitude and remember why you came. ❤‍🩹

Your mood is fine, it was a bump in the trail kind of day. Your feet might be hurting you because you're trying to keep up with your Tramily. I've seen this happen for a few years now. Cut back your pace, heal your feet and link up with another group along the way. Sucks about the furl. My husband and I did that, too. He thought I had more, and I thought he did. Turned out, we both ran out. Tomorrow is another day. Thanks for sharing, really enjoy your vlogs 😊

Having different thoughts from a tramily can be tough. Sometimes you just need to be ok with being separated or alone. It's only 3 miles for the morning into town so really you saved yourself some money and will probably be together anyway. Hang in there. Hike north

I seem to always end up with dating ladies that don't like hiking... Maybe I should find a country girl and leave the city girls alone... lol.. ==== and YES, poorly marked trails can be annoying, but quite traumatizing in very remote places and can be very dangerous for some people... I suggest you report that intersection to the nearest ranger... Regarding cooking, perhaps add the BUSHBOX XL folding stove which is very light weight & 7in tall and you put leaves & twigs inside for a small fire, then you can add larger twigs to keep it going... Folds flat for easy packing, and bring a couple Bic lighters, and you'll always have another way to cook when your other cooking methods fails.... (Good for warmth too on cold nights)... Me personally, I've used the BUSHBOX inside my tent, but only for a VERY SHORT WHILE just to get the chill out... Keep the zipper door cracked & the roof vent or another vent opened for cross ventilation, but just make sure to put out the fire before going to sleep and leave it outside an arms reach away from the tent when your done using it.... Just a tip that works for me on very cold nights.=== and YES, being cast out by your group can be depressing I suppose, but it depends if they are family or close friends from your home town, but those "new" friends you may make on the trail doesn't matter so much to me personally because they are really just strangers anyway.... Heck, even close friends back at home don't always last forever either.

Hey at least you didn't have rain and got to enjoy a good book. The narrator makes or breaks an audiobook. All of them I heard read really well but some of them just make you feel like you're part of the story.
