This was super helpful and brilliantly explained. I had the volume issue with Waze & Apple Carplay in a brand new 2024 Subaru with an 11.6" vertical screen and a single volume control (Sydney Australia). The fix was the exactly the same as in your RAM. I had been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks. Very helpful. Similar to the way you can adjust the volume for Mercedes factory nav systems-but at least they have a hard button that you can push to repeat the last nav direction. Haven’t found a similar button in Waze to have it repeat last instruction.

Great Information! I think, think that a Uconnect update a few months ago set the volume to zero as this worked for me previously. But, without the “solution” you provided, fixing that volume seemed impossible. Essentially, this is the remnants of Agile development where a developer thinks they they cannot possibly code wrong and the testing to production does not focus on legacy functionality, the mistake is missed. Thanks so much!

Yes this Helped me, I just bought a Boss Elite radio and was experiencing the same issues, thinking it was a iPhone issue. Just turn the Navigation Volume up when Siri is speaking!

Another way for some radios (boss specifically) go to settings and there are audio options for Siri it is “speech” music would be “media” you can adjust speech and she doesn’t need to be talking for that way

Waze, I maps & Google Maps all worked through Carplay on my car then suddenly the voice prompts ceased on all 3 maps. I will try this volume adjustment but I did not need to do this when I bought the car new in 2018. This all happened this year 2021 & I think Apple did it purposefully because many people just bought 2nd hand cheap I phones to use whilst in the car & Apple most likely wants people to purchase & use the I Phone as their main phone.

Worked great for me. I had updated my UConnect+Map and it must have reset my volumes to 0. Dodge lady volume was fine but both Waze and Siri voice were 0. Thank you!

Just bought a new 2020 Ram Laramie Longhorn last weekend in Florida and could not get sound out of Wayz either and it was driving me crazy as I had an 7+ hour drive back home. I have two phones (11 Pro Max and 7 Plus) and had the same issue with both. After messing with it for two hours, I finally just pulled up Wayz on one phone (unconnected to Ram laying on dash with sound turned up) and connected the other phone to Ram Car Play with Wayz so I could see on big screen. Kinda rigged, but it worked and I pulled up Sirius for music. Can’t wait to try your trick. Assume that will work for some of the other CarPlay apps that had the same issue as Wayz. Thanks again!!!!!!!!

@@AxlesGarage got a chance to try the trick during lunch today and I am simply ecstatic to report that it worked perfectly!! Took about 2 seconds once I cranked up the truck, plugged in my phone and fired up Wayz with a destination. As soon as the regular radio muted slightly, I knew the little lady had to be talking and I immediately turned up the volume to hear "....let's GO". It was truly music to my ears and I can't thank you enough. I was very disappointed on the maiden voyage last Sunday thinking it simply was never going to work !! THANK YOU !!!

I know you now have done several lease options with your last ram and this one. How does it compare to purchasing a new vehicle vs lease. Obviously every 2 to 4 years you're getting a new vehicle, but do you feel your losing a lot of money or no, you're gaining new vehicle always and no break downs. I just can't wrap my head around losing money. Several thousand down and monthly payments are on Par with purchase payment. Even with vehicles depreciating right off the lot, after a few years you could sell it, but then i look at you and wander is his way of leasing better then buying? It seems it may be. Would love to hear your take and comparison on it.

Good and Bad with both. Yes you always have a payment, but you're always driving a new car, under warranty. Skip the down payment, the monthly's are higher, but you're paying as you go instead of dropping a bunch of cash up front. We all drive old vehicles in this family 11+ cars and trucks, so having one new car is a comfort. My last lease, cost me only oil changes and the monthly payment. No repairs, and if there were any it would have been under warranty. New cars today have so much electronic and tech, I'd be scared to own one that was out of warranty. So then if you buy, you are reselling at the end of the warranty anyway. I should probably make a video on it.

Its the radio volume knob. When Waze or Siri should be speaking, that's when you have to adjust.

Navigation does not require an internet connection, CarPlay and Waze does require a phone to be attached.

Not related to only Ram or dodge, Its Waze they need to update their app. and make a volume setting, I don't know how many time I had no volume, You hit the nail on the head. Turn Volume up when its near a turn or probably when you hit go. WAZE = work on an UPDATE! Thanks AXLE

You are very good except and I like your voice, but my 2017 Honda Civic I don’t have to turn it up and down when it was working properly. I’d set where I was going by tapping the address I want, and then we’d be driving and she start talking and I go where she said and then however many minutes later she would tell me to go someplace again. So I didn’t have to turn her upper down anyway right now she is Talking except her I can’t barely hear her I can definitely not hear her to know the directions. Do you know anything further to get me back to that point
