A.I does not need to be human-like. This is where many people get stuck and get lost. Best to think of AI as a force multiplier, enhancer or augmentation. Why would you want or microwave be emotional to make popcorn? The argument about dumb drivers is not valid given than most comercial flights are mostly autonomous and it’s the safest form of transportation… and most car accidents happen because of human error, falling as sleep on the wheel or stupidity like drunk driving which AI is not subject to. As technology advance AI will become better and better at driving just like they are getting better at natural language…

I mean what he said is true, since the neural network the computer use is not 1:1 with the natural neural network of the human brain. it's misnamed by the internet and news and AI companies love to hype that misconception, in reality we yet to know how our brain work to replicate it as digital machine. anyone who studied computer science and work with AI will tell you that the current AI is just Advance statistics and most of its foundation was discovered since the 50s, we just didn't have hardware Advanced and powerful enough to train on the data.

Hippocampus is the memory centre of the brain
@updatemysettings5095
@updatemysettings5095 Жыл бұрын
There is no 'memory center' in the brain. Memories are recurrent pathways firaing that have done so before and when they refire the same pathway you experience a large percentage of the same activation that occured when the path was formed. Looking for a memory center or a memory storage area of the brain is the equivalent tlof looking for the juice tank in a field of fruit trees, or the miles depository on a hiking path. The brain is not wired to activate, store and recall as three separate functions, it is wired to efficiently recall and store on the same path as the activation occurs. Another way I can try to explain it is this; if you want to start a weekly party group you could find people with the same interests and they could all drive from different locations to a central party spot. Or.. you could drive down the road picking up everyone on the way on a bus and at the end of the route you throw a party. When you want to have the party again in the future 'recall a memory' you don't need everyones address or a list of guests, you just need to drive the same route and the party will look pretty similar to the first one.
