I agree with Melissa, it looks more like a cobbler than a cake. It also looks like I could dig in with two forks :) I think I'd double the glaze recipe so it would be extra "glazy." We are on day 10 without power. Please continue to pray for us.

I never understand people complaining about you using your fingers. God gave them to us for a purpose, besides, you're the ones eating it! That cake looks so good! Personally I have never cared for how sweet canned apple pie filling is. But I would use the same recipe but use fresh apples cooked with my own spices. I bet a crumb topping would be as good as a glaze. Yummy.

It looked wonderful. I think I would run a knife blade through the layers, just a little bit. Also I wanted so badly to mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle all together. I appreciate that you stick to the original recipe the first time you make it. I watch your channel often. I lost my husband of 53 years of a wonderful marriage one year ago. But even at 76 I still enjoy cooking and I just made your orange cranberry scones. The best recipe I’ve tried. I have a bad heart and MS but with God’s help and grace I’m still going.

I would just gently swirl the apple mixture through the entire cake rather than fuss with two layers. I would make a streusel topping with nuts, sugar and softened, not melted butter. Then drizzle with glaze. This looks very good. Thanks for the recipe.

This coffee cake looks delicious , and I agree I’d make twice as much glaze ! I always enjoy a heavy glaze on a coffee cake otherwise it seems like the top is moist and the bottom is dry , but that’s just me , but by the apple filling being in the middle and on the top sorta would give the bottom more moisture so that’s a great help also !! ❤️🙋🏻🙏🌈🌈
