Greetings from a fellow Canadian who lives amongst a lot of apple orchards. Thanks for the shout out to support local growers. No store-bought apple can compete with fresh picked fruit that ripened on the tree. It takes a lot of effort to grow and maintain the trees, so thank you. Wonderful recipe, I made it today : )

You need to be on TV, I’ve watched 30 of your videos in a row. They have people who will have the same recipe but the way you explain things and how you make everyone feel like they can do it no matter if they have been baking for years or new to it.

Delicious, I'm going to do this for my family this weekend. I see that someone has asked about using other fruits, I've made this type of desert using all sorts of fruit, as you said, add raspberries, blackberries yum, tinned peaches, apricots....drain them first. Thank you for this recipe. You are my 'go to' cook book.

I love watching you make this apple crisp. You make me remember my mom making an apple pie on a Sunday morning. The house smelled so good and it gave me a really good memory to take with me. Thank you. It is delicious. Thanks for your tips too.

In the old days or at least in the 1960s and 70s, what I thought of apple crisp as being was the recipe found in the 1961 edition of THE NEW YORK TIMES COOKBOOK by Craig Claiborne. It doesn't call for any oats and it calls for cloves in addition to cinnamon. I have always used it for a base recipe. The ingredients called for are 6 apples 1 cup sugar, 1/4 t. ground cloves 1/2 t. cinnamon, 2 t. lemon juice, 3/4 cup flour and 6 T butter. and 1/4 cup chopped nuts. I modify it by using 1/2 brown sugar mixed in with the white sugar and I usually add other spices besides cinnamon and cloves, I also often use less flour and sometimes add more nuts or leave them out.

Hi! A couple of days before you published this recipe, I had bought green apples to make an apple cramble. And ... oh! coincidence? Once again you shared with us one of my favorite combinations: apples, cinnamon and butter! Delicious! It did not last long in our home, so I will soon prepare it again! Thank you very much! Regards from Argentina!

Always impeccable method and explanation, Stephanie. I'm from the US but lived abroad for several years, so I'm so glad to be able to use metric measurements; thank you so much for always providing them. Do you memorize the recipe to provide it, or have you got a prompter of some kind? I'm sure it would be quite a task if I were asked to rattle off the particulars. No doubt you're well used to it, being such a FoodTube veteran now. I'll be making this at the weekend☆

Evokes memories of school when food was prepared on premises. 50s/60s I think. One of my favorite was cheese apple crisp (or most likely crumble since don’t recall nuts). I so looked forward to that dessert. Also the schools would make yeast rolls and you would get two along with a dollop of grape jelly. Nice memories. But the cheese really enhanced the apple flavor. 🐾🐾❤️
