Discord is age-gating NSFW servers (GREAT) and hiding them ENTIRELY on iOS because Apple asked them too (NOT GREAT). This Apple/Discord NSFW server ban is just like all the other ridiculous attempts to make the Internet have less sex. It's silly, and it has (SURPRISE) antitrust implications. You thought we were going to talk about a ban in the Apple Discord app and NOT talk about App Store policies and antitrust?

Honestly, why doesn't Apple just make a separate store for kids and put it on a child lock mode? That way if parents want to share their device with their child, there is less of a chance for a child to see NSFW content when it is their turn to play.

I was just really mad, because the server I was on is like almost never NSFW, but has an NSFW tag simply because they talk that way occasionally. I was mad because I thought I’d be banned from it for no reason, and now I’m still on it.

At this point having an iPhone is like having a laptop priced webcam because iPhone has good camera but not so good "Policies" I view nsfw anime arts by the daily because I love anime and nsfw anime art. But this has struck a nerve on me. Like, just because a kid can't see nsfw stuff doesn't mean you should ban it because the kid can't and the Adult Can. At this point, early 2000s internet is like a dream to many people where there's no Puritans or SJWs.

@@MattHorton Depends on the 'cause really, bin this case, it is bad because it treats one thing as a whole because one group ( kids/underaged people ) can't consume nsfw stuff, hence why nsfw is being removed just because of that or to "protect" the kids because nsfw art is nsfw. Kids grow up into teens and then adults, and when they're adults they want to consume nsfw stuff if they wish for that, removing nsfw just doesn't make sense.

Why not apply a "please set your age" and allow NSFW servers if you are over 18 years of age? why throw every apple user into the same "underage shelf"? I use android and im over 18, i can log in to any server i want on discord. I guess i can tell my friends that iPhones is a "kids phone".. apple did make that legit now. It will be a very expensive kids phone but its a phone for underage kids. Maybe the 1% people can buy it for their kids

If you are browsing Discord using the iOS app, you will not be able to view NSFW channels and servers. You can still view them with other devices or the browser version though.

@@MattHorton but you have to understand, Discord isn’t made for NSFW businesses, individual people used it for that, so it’s not Discord or Apple’s fault if they ban/censor it, because it wasn’t something they promised in the first place. Even if it’s legal, it’s generally not well accepted in the society, people who choose these types of business had choices, and they chose the risky one, obviously they’re gonna face issues, it’s like going into army and then complaining you got shot, you had a choice, and you made it, now you gotta face whatever happens because that’s on you.
