The extra 4 hours battery life was tested on video playback so most likely in airplane mode. On their website they usually say connected to WiFi, but this time it says video playback only. So really the 4 hours mean nothing

When it comes to the separation between the Pro and non-Pro models this year, I didn't feel that they're now more clearly separated than before. The headline features are the Camera Control and "being built for Apple Intelligence", and both models get these features (or in the case of Apple Intelligence, both have to wait the same amount of time).

almost all my youtube videos are made using all the iterations of the iPhone throughout the years. I've also used iPad and Samsung phone. no.1 reason is because they have good camera and no.2 free imovie editor. I used to use the free Microsoft movie editor back in the days. my PC used to hang up and i had to fckin re-do everything again. Todays phone are so powerful. You can record, edit and upload directly from the phone. People take this for granted.

“Where did the seed start from for camera control” lol literally just a long term move to indirectly nudge users into landscape photography, thereby bolstering horizontal shots across their entire user base so that in 2-3 years when the cheaper Vision Pro releases, they can retroactively market at everyone’s photo library, chalk full of potentially spatial photos. It’s the only explanation not only for this random button coming out, but coming to the non-Pro iPhones as well. It’s not a heartfelt decision, it’s purely a chess move.

I'm particularly fond of the iPhone 16 Pro's writing tool and advanced AI capabilities, notably Siri's enhanced camera control which includes profile switching for video focus and portrait mode; I suggest incorporating a feature to shorten text.

You’ll need to give it time to settle in when first activated out of the box.It’s bound not to be that good at first whilst it’s indexing etc,and learning your usage pattern.I would give it the full 14 day return window before deciding whether to keep it or not.

I love the improvements they made to battery life and thermals. That’s not a must have but it can be a selling point if your 15 pro is just trash in battery life and thermals. Anything below a 15 pro is a true upgrade because of the hardware alone.

Totally incremental! Most users don't even need the features and performance gains introduced since the iPhone 12. Now, sell us the new version and explain why we need the performance. AI is the new killer app, you say? It's postponed in the US (end of the year) and even further delayed in the EU (next year). Germany isn't even mentioned. This raises the question: if we can't leverage the performance in our regular day-to-day, why not just wait for the next version when the AI features that can, have matured and are actually in place? By the way, if OpenAI had a virtual keyboard replacement, even iPhone 12 users could access most of the useful AI features (rephrase, text correction, etc.) immediately. Even though this would be server-based, many users already utilize the ChatGPT app and copy & paste for various purposes these days (I sincerely hope Open AI seizes the opportunity for a keyboard, or someone via the Open AI API at least), while we wait for usable AI from Apple.

You could also work on the little things like stop moving widgets and icons when moving one and allow me to put it in a blank space and not take over a space which ruins the homescreen and sometimes messes it up completely. No shade but I wish tech channels would ask some tougher questions - Apple used to bring real updates every year and these days a new colour and button are something Apple expects customers to shell out over 1K on..! In this day and age with everything costing so much the new phones don’t measure up. Go and use the compare section of apples site and see for yourselves they’ve been exactly the same for years 😂 I’ve got a 13 pro max and even I’m struggling to see why I should upgrade! The baseline phones don’t even have 120 refresh rate like come TF on…even my 2021 iPhone does! A nice enough interview but Apple really need to answer up at this point - give us a real upgrade and stop the gaslighting 🤡😂
