Something to think about: There are three axes: x (left-right), y (up-down) and z (to or away from the observer). Cless' position is based on the x- and y-axis, his attacks are too. No matter what the z-coördinate is, Cless' attacks will hit there since they only require an x- and y-coördinate. Jade can't sidestep Cless' attacks because of this. Jade can however hit Cless regardless of z-postion. Looking at it this way, it's actually a quite balanced battle.

Majinken was translated to "demon fang" in ToS. But it was translated to a different attack name in the other Tales English releases. It means "Demon sword." But that's why I didn't translate the attack names. They aren't consistent with the English releases.

No. The snes version is the original. They did a remake for the playstation a few years later and that was when they decided to add Suzu as a potential member of the party. They also did this for the Gameboy Advance version of Tales of Phantasia.
