In the beginning, it stated that dad passed away. But a little later, it says his parents are paying for everything on vacation? Confusing? What happened to the ex-husband? How come Charles is ignoring his wife and child? Is Charles, his sister, and his mother in an incestuous relationship? Because everything is planned for just the 3 of them. Are they 3 alcoholics living in the same world? What about sisters baby? Who takes care of the baby while they drink and travel? The 5 year old son of OP and Charles has been totally forgotten in the story. This story has a lot of holes in it.

Extended Aftermath: The child support put stress on Charles to the point he couldn't pay for everything his sister demanded, which led to a fight between them and for their sibling relationship to deteriorate. Then it got out that the sister was divorced because she was cheating on her husband, which ruined her image in both MIL and Charles eyes. They disowned her and took her baby to care for themselves because they thought they were better at parenting it .... only for Child Services to take the baby away as their household wasn't stable, especially when they went into poverty. Its rumored that SIL is now homeless, while MIL and Charles just waste away together. Some family they are

Charles is just obnoxious for letting Judy drinking and brush away his wife effort to make her life better by offering her cousins job apply if she interested, and selfish for wanting his only family happy ignoring his wife stress. Of course the wife who want Charles and her living happy together just two of them in the house without interfere. It make sense that the wife kick and divorce Charles because of these reasons. Have some happy privacy in marriage please even the couple have a stable job? It's okay to help sibling, but not letting or ignore one to DRINK instead of accepting job and save money for future! You are the one who don't follow the story.

I left my daughter’s father when he chose to get wasted weekly with his sister over being a parent. It’s not ok to allow them to be passive and lazy as a parent. Never stay together “for the kids”. Bad role modeling as healthy relationships for kids that’s for sure.
