Yes, getting married after just 4 months of dating isn't usually a good idea. But, it's not always a bad thing. However, it would definitely be suspicious if one wanted to rush the wedding and didn't want to meet the other's family before they got married. My husband and I went got married 5 months after our first date, and we just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this past February 2024. However, even though we are still very much in love and happily married, I wouldn't recommend someone get married so quickly because there is more of a chance it won't work.

My husband and I married just 3 weeks and two days after we met haha. I wouldn’t recommend it for most people but it has worked out great for us. We’ve been married 21 years this past February. We both just knew we were meant to be together and married as quickly as we could. I know we are definitely the exception to the rule though. Neither of us have any regrets at all, we’ve been very happy our whole marriage with beautiful children. He is definitely my life long partner and I know he feels the same about me. Some people know right away that they met the life partner, some take more time and some like to date for a while even knowing they have met their life partner. I think it all depends on the couple and they are definitely people that send up way too many red flags to even date let alone marry them
@Mama_Bear_of_46 ай бұрын
@@Allie_phelps Same here! After our first date we both thought to ourselves that we found our person. A month later my husband told me how he felt, and I laughed and told him I felt the same way. Four months later we married. His family was a bit concerned because we did not know each other well. However, my family was heavily against it for a few reasons. First of course being how little time we knew each other. They were not happy that he was of Northern European decentare and was/is non Christian (Unitarian). That was the biggest thing my family was against, because I am Puerto Rican and Native American and raised Catholic (even though at that point I had already distanced myself from the church). They felt our cultures were just too different and we would never last. But, within a year my husband won my family, and they quickly came to love him and his family.

Hubby and I were together for 3 years before our engament, 4 years engaged (Family issues on the date). We STILL did a Prenup. Not because he doesn't trust me or I don't trust him but because he has assets that are used to support his family. Such as owning their homes, and savings that he was preparing for his siblings. I was a little uncomfortable at first, because i felt it was a bit of a insult but then realized that its fine. Its not a trust thing its protecting his family. Also that was 10 years ago... we are still happily Married and our prenup has long expired.
@jenniferbeyer64126 ай бұрын
It is a good idea to check someone out, a back ground check, and a prenup if you feel it is necessary to protect your assets. And if your partner objects then you know it is good to be worried about their intentions. And anyone wanting to marry or something in only knowing them a few months is a huge red flag. It's best to be safe rather than sorry. Some people are just dirt, and you have to protect yourself.
@Allie_phelps6 ай бұрын
I agree if someone really loves you for you and wants to be with you for you, there should be absolutely no problem with a prenup. If my husband wanted one before we married, I would’ve absolutely signed it because I love him and not what he may have had. Plus, I plan on spending my whole life with him and have absolutely no intention at all of ever getting divorced, he’s stuck with me for life haha

@lizzykeffer55325 ай бұрын
I wouldn't mind a prenup but normally they end up being one-sided and only protect one partner. So it's always good to go over it with an attorney to make sure it's fair to both. My husband and I didn't do a prenup we talked about it but decided against it. Been together since we were 16 and now we are both 33 with two baby boys 💙💙
@ladosis55965 ай бұрын
If you have money, get a prenup. If you don't have money, get a prenup too. Get one if you have kids, if don't plan to have them, if you are in debt, etc. Marriage is a contract, abd there is nothing wrong, and many things right, with stating things openly beforehand. A prenup provides for a lot of things besides money: child custody, estate planning, emergency measures, advanced medical instructions in case of a tragedy, etc. It's just a formalization of all the discussions and agreements that should take place before marriage, and it should provide for both parties. If you think it's *rude* to have these discussions, you're not redy to be married to that person.
@jackiehuff77365 ай бұрын
Yep, agree. It's much harder to talk about things after stuff happens. Not just divorce, but death or bankruptcy, stuff like that too. I would have hated Stacey even if she WEREN'T a gold digger. She is just sooo snooty and hyper and childish. We know she is overly sensitive because she's pulling a scam but had that not been true it is so annoying. Did he not guess that if she came on to him how is she so "shy" she doesn't want to meet his family.
@heikerosenau15205 ай бұрын
Even without knowing Stacy's chat with her parents about their true intentions one can tell she isn't honest. She told everyone she was very shy to meet new people as the reason to not wanting to meet Peter's family before the wedding. Yet SHE was the one who contacted HIM at the bar! If she really had been sooo shy she could hardly do that. This is why she lied about that question - she KNEW it wouldn't be believable. So it's not about "forgetting about a small detail" of the 'who-made-the-first-move' - story! This would have been so out of her character that she would NEVER forget about overcoming her usual fears. Would be different if she had been kinda struck by (romantic) lightning to be able to approach a complete stranger, and tell Peter's family that it had been the greatest challenge for her (that it really had been if she had told the truth). He just was too blinded by love to realize something didn't add up...

I will be honest. I've recently been dating a woman who's older than me. We've only been dating for 3 months now with the next month aka June being the 4th. Thinking about that. It's the longest running relationship that is stable. But back to my point. We have talked about marriage. And thinking about it with seeing some other comments and seeing these videos everyday. I should speak to her about not being so gung ho about getting married the second we meet. I've been trying to get her to meet my parents and I do want to meet her Mother. I did mention to her at some point that I wanted her to live in my apartment at least a few times so we aren't just rushing absolutely everything. But the thoughts of something happening during the time will happen. But she has been trying to get me to not be so negative like I usually am. The whole me overthinking everything. So everything might just go well. Maybe not. Who knows. I personally just say the earliest to get Married would be later Summer. So we aren't just getting Married the second Summer starts or during it. Like when it's ending. Maybe it'll extend to September. I don't know. I'm just going off the Knowledge that planning a Wedding can take a lot of time. Wish me luck 10:24 AND that's what I should have realized when I started Dating. But I wasn't yold about this fact. So every relationship until my 3rd or 4th Girlfriend I told almost everyone about them

Marriage is not something you should just jump into... you're entering into a contract with someone and the government.. I think it's absurd to propose marriage to someone within months of dating.. that isn't enough time to know someone. It's also absolutely ludicrous to propose to someone before even meeting their family or friends. If someone is rushing you to marry, you must stop and wonder why the rush?. If someone get's mad because you demand a prenup.. first clue they're only marrying you for your money.. if they were only marrying out of love there would be no problem signing a prenup.. a prenup can be done to protect both parties. If they don't even want to discuss it and immediately get defensive like stacy...RUN.. don't walk... RUUUUUUNNNNNNN

Good thing Peter, realized BEFORE he married her. He was blind to soo many RED FLAGS it wasn't funny. Btw, she's not shy at all, if she was she wouldn't be rushing into marriage. 😮 stacy is a walking red flag, love really is blind. That said, the length of a relationship before marriage isn't that important, it's the people involved. My grandparents only knew each other a few months before the wedding and papa was away in the navy for most of that time and for the first few months of the marriage (his mom was thrilled to have her new little girl all to herself, she absolutely loved mama.) They were together for 45 years and only separated because mama passed away. Papa still loves her and always will, even with another partner for over 10 years now that he loves equally.
