In the OS security model, there is only deny or allow (onetime, runtime, always). There is no "ask" because it's unenforceable. I am floored you are the only creator pointing this out. Now THIS is the kind of content I crave. The Hated One is great, but his material is sporadic and often too lengthy. Not a knock on him, but for me, 5-10 minute videos on privacy and security matters (longer for demonstration videos) is spot on. Thank you and keep it up!

Ha! While it would be nice to get a slice of the profits, I think that actually might be a thing in the future. Advertising companies might find out users are a lot happier to give up their data when they offer them a few dollars. It might be the only option they have in the future if privacy protection laws are strict enough, and we're allowed to opt out of everything (but that's only a wish, haha).

It’s really disheartening as a long time Apple everything user to see how hypocritical their privacy stance is… I’m only gonna keep Apple for laptops and I’m very happy with a graphene Pixel 4a for my phone. Speaking of which, any chance to see that Pixel 6 graphene camera app VS Google camera app comparison in the near future? The camera would be the main reason I would want to upgrade to a Pixel 6/pro but I’m not willing to install the Google camera app so I’d rally like to know if using the graphene app it would still be a substantial upgrade… Thanks!

It is, I was a huge advocate for Apple for a long time. It's disappointing the choices they're making eroding away at their stance on privacy. Will do! I know they GrapheneOS camera app has had some recent updates, so I'll do some testing.

For me, I think that call would be easier to make if there was more transparency. Without knowing exactly how it's “anonymized”/used, it makes it difficult to make any further decisions on it.

Never used it, but I have been meaning to check it out. My recommendation for a private/secure OS is a Pixel running GrapheneOS.
