Here’s the thing about “constructive criticism”… it’s just an excuse to be cruel and mean to someone dressed up as advice.
@matthewcardoza1190
@matthewcardoza1190 Жыл бұрын
In THIS case, yes; but in other cases it is genuinely good advice meant to help and improve. Some people just can’t take it well; Being able to take constructive criticism and see the advice behind it is a sign of good character.
@sassysquad6298
@sassysquad6298 Жыл бұрын
I think you mean “destructive criticism”, their similar but very different. Constructive criticism is meant to genuinely help someone improve, like telling someone they did something wrong on a math assignment and showing them how to get the right answer; destructive is just telling someone they did something wrong, like someone saying that they think something you made is ugly, thus you did it wrong.

Constructive criticism has 2 parts What went well/what’s strong or good about something What is an area of need / a shortcoming If you wanna see this in action really well, look at a competition cooking show ; they praise the chefs on strong points before pointing out flaws

When the MIL said “fine just get the chicken, but know that I’m not happy” my first thought was “when are you ever happy?”. Because based on how she speaks to the wife, how much she complains & always saying what she finds “wrong” with her, the MIL seems to be the type that is never happy unless she is the center of the world. How can she not take a hint that maybe her son doesn’t want to talk to her, especially given how abusive she is towards her DIL.

This story doesn’t have a very realistic ending. A person in a marriage who hasn’t worked outside the home and has been totally dependent on their working partner for the whole marriage is entitled to alimony or spousal support. Also there would be a division of assets and she wouldn’t be left penniless after the divorce. If some infidelity on her part had been thrown in there then being left destitute would be realistic.

I wish that a certain ex relative had learned that decades ago. She controlled what the family did. And how far away she would let them move from her. If someone needed something like a car part. With her, you had to either go to a family member or a friend or even a friend of a friend of a family member to get said item. One of her sons bought a brand new car battery and he got reamed for not using the family 'network'.

The best way to deal with a difficult MIL is to get their son/daughter on your side then be indifferent and exclude them from your trips and chores. Kills their power over you.

Again, most farming is corporate farming these days, and owning acres of land is expensive with all the taxes. If they own their own foam, that means they must have a good amount of money coming in. It isn’t some backwoods farming where you eke out a measly existence with a few chickens and goats.

When I saw how long this video was, I realised that there was no way that MIL was going to listen. I really wanted her to start begging for forgiveness before that closing chapter.

Ohhhh man. The mil sounds just like my man's ex-wife. As in how she bossed everyone around her. My man's family was SOOO glad when she walked out on him. And then divorced him. One difference, my man's ex REFUSED to learn how to cook. Why should she when she considered him a slave to do what ever she wanted.

When Anne was begging and crying, everyone insulted her and tormented her. During her packing days, her kids kept on insulting her and this made her crying even more and she took her stuff and left immediately. She began to work at a convenient store and she is getting scolded everyday by the staff. She is in tears everyday while working knowing that no one will help her.

WHY did she take that attitude from her MIL for so long?? I would never take that from a MIL or anyone else in the family for that matter. Just wow.

Never trust anyone who says they hate animals, especially if they say that with pride. I might be able to understand someone being adverse to certain animal smells. On the other hand, it's my firm belief that how a person treats animals speaks volumes about their character and personality.

Not all farmers are poor or in the country. We live in a semi rural area on a hobby farm. We have 10 chickens and 3 rabbits who live outside. The rabbits are my responsibility. I am disabled and on meds for it so the animals motivate me. I do have depression amongst other things like autism. A farm in the country sounds nice.
