They both brought the house together if his parents is still paying the mortgage then they was the guarantee probably for his share of the loan . Since he abandoned her after the wedding and left the country with someone else. And he wasn't making any payments . The guarantors had the right to remove his name and give the house to his ex since they was given the responsibility for the loan and the mortgage. His parents felt they was obligated to pay her compensation and gave her the house to make up for their idiot and morally bankrupt son. Karma definitely don't play . Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Had the house not been hers legally, she would have lived there for as long as she could have and then left without paying property tax. When it was seized to auction off, she would have bought it if she could have gotten is as a steal. Had he been sending in yearly tax payments, she would have lived there while putting no money or effort into maintenance. It's amazing how fast an uncared for house can fall apart.
