My parents always insisted on meeting the parents of mine and my siblings friends before we were allowed to go anywhere with them or stay the night literally there was only one friend that wasn't family growing up because I didn't want to bother with the hassle until I hit high school my parents had a the parents didn't need to be drunks policy yeah they didn't allow anyone that got rowdy or touchy when we were kids to drink alcohol had a great uncle who got better singing the more drunk he was 😂 next door neighbors they didn't do a good first impression on the neighborhood because everyone saw the beers and passed judgement before getting to know them I was the only one that hung around them for a few months till grandma needed some yard done and hired them then she realized what they were like one liked to be a little mouthy but he was alright and the other he just got quieter and sleepy she tried to ban me before that from being around them those two would sacrifice an arm before they would have done anything to me first guy moved down from NY has a criminal record but small demeanors mostly DUIs accessory I believe to murder and theft maybe one account of murder I can't remember the last might have been accessory this was years ago the second guy was a work buddy looking for a place to live with his young son and to help with the rent basically my parents know me way better then the controlling old hag that's a long story they know I wouldn't hang out with the wrong crowd or would have said something if the neighbors were doing anything bad

Always get a prenup and make sure that prenup is air tight and very detailed. Inheritance is not a marital asset. Make sure that prenup shows what is your and what is his and what he or she came into the marriage with is what they leave with.
