In these stories they usually don't punish for forging the divorce papers because the person it is done to ends up wanting the divorce, so they don't contest the papers, just let them be accepted,. I don't grasp the idea of forging divorce papers like it will magically solve the issue. "Haha! I turned in divorce papers so you are no longer a part of my son's life!" Like why? All that does is cause legal drama and if noth sides had no intention of getting divorced, turning in papers doesn't magically cause the son to fall out of love. At least this story has a realistic ending.

So the MIL thought OP bribed neighbors to say good things about her. How would she know what neighbors would meet and greet? And does she really think OP has the time and money to go to each person to make her look good?
@nightdrivenen7909 Жыл бұрын
It's called Delusion. In this case, Greedy Delusion as Betty wanted to live the highest luxurious life off of both of her sons' incomes. Because in her world - OP did nothing but leech off of her son's money. End of story. There was no changing that fact. So if she wanted to use her son's money to bribe the neighbors that immediately surrounded them in the apartment - she could. She believed her DIL was going out lavishly off of her son's income. Just as SHE wanted too do. Everything she would accuse either of her DILs doing was what SHE would have done or wanted too do. "Persecute your enemy for the very thing you are about to do, so no one pays attention to when you do it." That was her goal.

Once the son becomes an adult his life becomes private from his mother. It is no longer her business. His marriage is off limits to his mother. Any arrangements her son and his wife make concerning their marriage is no one's business but their's. The mother is the one leeching off her husband and she accuses her DIL of doing the same even though she is working and earning more than the husband. Then mother commits a crime and thinks she is perfectly entitled to do this.

Fifteen minutes in. PLEASE tell me that her SON is the one who called the police and reported her for forging government documents, pressed charges, and made sure she spent at least 3 years behind bars. PLEASE! Also, it seems to me that the Sponge is projecting, rather hard. "You even got your neighbors to lie for you!" Also, even if she was a housewife, she'd still need to leave the house, quite a lot. Grocery shopping, shopping for gardening supplies (if they have a garden), shopping for all the other necessities, including clothes for both of them. Not to mention doctor visits. Well, maybe a housewife who is healthy can manage with one doctor visit a year. I have five different doctors. I go out to doctor visits and labs A LOT. I wish they could all just do all the labs at the same time, but there's a limit to how much blood they'll take all at once, and thirteen vials for two doctors is pretty much the limit, it seems, so, yeah. But, you'd think these people who don't believe in work-from-home lived under a rock for the duration of the pandemic. I mean, working from home is what saved the global economy from complete collapse! It was HUGE! I mean, I can get that sort of attitude BEFORE the pandemic, but not AFTER! Also, if someone invites themselves over, unexpectedly, and stays until mealtime, they shouldn't be surprised if their unwilling hosts tell them, "Well, it's time for our meal, so we'll have to ask you to leave now." Standing up for yourself (and your grocery budget) is NOT being mean, cruel, or a bad relative. Also, who goes over in person to invite someone for a meal, and then uses the phone, afterwards, to chide them for not being available to answer the invitation. JUST CALL IN THE FIRST PLACE! If she called, in the first place, and paid her own way more often than not (not even every time! Just 51% of the time!), and didn't get all judgy and mean, they'd probably actually call to invite her over once a week! If you make yourself likable, people will WANT to spend time with you. And if money is a problem, then you invite people to share cheap things. Like PB&J picnics, and focus on having fun, enjoying each other's company, over a simple meal. They'll still consider you as fulfilling your half of the social contract, and be quite willing to pay good money to invite you for more fancy meals. Because it's about the KINDNESS, not about the money, or even the food! Also, PB&J is delicious. Especially on a tasty home-made bread. YUMMY! In a good, balanced relationship, you get what you give, not in terms of money, but in terms of effort.

That needs to change so only lawyers can be witnesses or those papers need to be notarized before being accepted by the court. She even went as far as to forge signatures on divorce papers for Harry and his wife. Good thing Betty loves divorce. buying expensive clothes and jewelry isn't taking care of the house.
