I would 100% disagree, respectfully…..Disney needs Apple way more than the inverse…..the PR/brand damage they have experienced, the stock hit they have taken, the Parks have had attendance issues, Disney+ has yet to make a profit, and the flops at the theater they have been experiencing all add up to Disney needs Apple…..Bob Iger has been using smoke and mirrors to make Disney look stronger than it is and as a shareholder we need real world help.

I respect your perspective, and if making money were my sole determining factor behind my objections, then I'd agree. But, as a consumer, I loathe the idea of Disney being swallowed by a company that'd only have it to bolster its own streaming portfolio.

Disney is a failing brand in the entertainment industry. Yes, they need Apple if they want to come out of the death spiral of consumer discontent. They decided to get so caught up in pushing politics into their media and company culture that their movies and content continue to flop. Any attempt to turn things around will offend all their upper management and current employee base. They are in a very difficult position.

You asked what I would like to see. As I age, it is getting more difficult to travel and see the world. One of my keen interests in AVP are spatial travel films where I can be transported to all the wonderful places in the world to experience them, if not first hand, at least through AR and VR, and also experience the thrilling things in those travels, like ziplining, dart river boats or even paragliding. I suspect that I might even be willing to pay for a subscription for such a service or make in available through Disney +.
@PapaSteven487 ай бұрын
@@EnyoStudio Since Disney already owns National Geographic, a potential list of spatial tours already exists. And they could be made into a series, like one episode per day of the tour or an episode for each unique experience of the tour and it would be one of the talented National Geographic Tour guides walking with you as a spatial persona, if you wanted them. Other virtual tourists who joined the episode you are watching could also be allowed to join your experience, again at your choice. And maybe as you are touring you could take pictures, saved to the photos app, to create memories. Lots of very interesting things could be done. And as I said, I could easily seeing myself paying for something like this. Real tours can be expensive between flights, lodging, food and time commitment. So this concept might not only be attractive to those of us aging out of travel, but also younger people who want to experience the world, but can't because of cost or time.

There is very little direct connection between The Walt Disney Company and Apple. Walt Disney C.E.O. Robert Iger just sat on Apple's Board of Directors for a few years. Iger has a personal affinity for Apple, and he did a few deals when Steve Jobs was alive in order to repair some of the damage from former Walt Disney C.E.O. Michael Eisner. Entertainment companies operate best when they are platform-agnostic. Disney makes things for Meta's Oculus and for Apple's Vision Pro.

I think content is on the way, the device is still only two months old. Do ya'll remember (if you were around back then and able to do so) when the iPhone came out and how much was available to do on it? Not much. Mostly the same as the Vision Pro right now. A bunch of small apps, some cool or neat little things, but most not good at all. It took a few years for good content to come out. Same as video game systems, each time a new generation launches, there's just not much content that is good for the first year or so, until developers can get the hang of working on it. I'd definitely love to see more too, but I'm willing to give it time. If we are still waiting and wondering, say in a year or so, then that would be...unacceptable and a failure on their parts.

I would love to see that - It will take websites into the next level of user experience. So a company or individual could build their own webspace to advertise their own business, or portfolio. An artist could have beautiful mansion with large galleries advertising their work, where visitors can walk around with friends or strangers and view the artwork. A filmmaker could have a massive cinema mall, showing his movies, at his own cinema, which visitors can interact with, and experience movies etc etc - This can take the web into the next level, unlilke what Facebook have done with their metaquest, APPLE VISION PRO could be a lot bigger.

I would like to see Apple as far away from Disney as possible if anything but to stop films like Marvel being forced to have everyone holding boring iPhones in every scene or worse "only the heroes would have iPhones". Way too cookie cutter. For example: Tony Stark needed to have the original LG Wing 2008, Nick Fury needed to have the HTC One M8. (Along with Sharon Carter). Are we only gonna see the cool phones on the villains like Baron Zemo? I don't wanna have to be stuck but being able to watch Disney+ on Apple TV on a browser because there's no Android app for it. Then it's useless on my (3D) Smart TV. I only use Google enabled TVs. Google had tap and pay years before Apple did. If anything? Google should be the Disney partner.

As far as I’m concerned, you’re making the same mistake as almost everyone who isn’t a daily user of AVP. It is not an accessory to a Mac. It is a Mac, with infinite (XDR) screens. Therefore it doesn’t need “saving” and isn’t it mainly for “consuming content”. It’s a beast for work. And yes, it’s also a beast for consuming content. Would I like more and other content from Disney; sure! That would make AVP even better. But all early adopters knew the start would be a bit basic. But this baseline is amazing and Apple has already added new and improved features in the first two months. I’m convinced that AVP’s future is bright and will be enhanced by contentmakers like Disney. But suggesting that AVP needs saving is way off imo.

Disney has produced a series of ridiculous flops and streaming has been a big loser especially since it trained people to not go to theatres for Disney stuff when they are already paying for it on streaming. All the creativity we associate with Disney is gone and has been replaced by entrenched DEI types. For the new Disney, message is more important than financial success. They have ignored bad test results for movies and pushed them out apparently for message. Disney has run Star Wars and Marvel into the ground; none of the huge fanbase for either is enthusiastic about Disney making any more movies. There are youtube channels devoted to documenting how the toys for both of these IP's do NOT sell. The parks are nothing compared to Universal's parks. Apple should avoid wasting money on this dumpster fire.
