I’m holding out for an M4 Studio- either Max or Ultra, depending on specs. I don’t want or need a laptop. I’m trying to replace my 2017 iMac Pro, which is still chugging along. But it’s disconcerting that my M4 iPad Pro can outbenchmark my old iMac Pro.

@RyeBrod the Mac Pro no longer has a purpose, one tier of chip is not enough to turn that around. Right now they sell three machines at three arbitrary price points. Why would the Mac Pro be able to run an extreme chip the studio couldn’t? Either get rid of the studio or the pro. Or bring actual pro features to the tower which honestly apple has nothing to offer via pcie

Personal recommendation would be to wait for the new Mac mini. You would need to buy a keyboard mouse and a display if you don’t have extras. (Not included in the box)

I don't think that would happen this year. They quietly observe how the demand for the Samsung ring will happen. Be aware, these rings are "disposable tech" meaning if their battery dies, they end straight in the bin.

There is no way the M4 Mini will be $1300-1500. No one would buy it. That’s over twice the price of the previous generation. The Mini is the entry level desktop machine, with a price to match. At the price you believe it will be, you may as well get a MacBook.

Apple should release the Mac Studio Max with all the other Mac versions. Leave the Ultra for June with the Mac Pro, but not kill those sells on November. 2 years waiting for the Mac Studio and I will give up if they don’t release it on this event. I will get the MacBook Pro M4 Max. Btw, this is also affecting our DaaS updates.. we need to buy 300 Mac Studios (at my job) and we haven’t due to this shitty Apple decision.

Innovation has stagnated with Apple. It will be a while yet before they release something with significant improvements with their upcoming hardware update imo. The mini needed at least thinner bezels as well as either 90/120Hz display

Apple is just loosing money not having 27" display available with Mini. Esoecially if they make new mini Mini, giving something to all those iMac 27" ready customers. We need displays! Give us 32 Oled 120hz or something even cooler for $2K and allow multiple mounting options. Also would love to see qi charging pads built into monitor stands. Give us keyboards with screens like the older MacBook pros this was a great idea just too early and I miss it in the current gen MBP. 32in IMac ! Give us modular MacBook Pro battery, memory and SSD just like the 2008 MacBook Pro.
