The last ones you made remind me so much of little pies my grandmother used to make. She called them Dried Apple Pies. She'd slice the apples into thin slices like you did and lay them in a single layer on clean window screens (that she kept just for this purpose). Then after they'd dried in the sun for almost a day she'd make them into little hand pies that she'd deep fry. Then she'd make some sauce that went with them that was a brown sugar sauce. Talk about yummy! I still think about those little pies 20 years after she's gone. I inherited her recipe boxes and recipe books but that recipe is nowhere to be found. I think it was one that she never wrote down and just kept in her head lol. Ahhhh, childhood memories ☺️
