Wow, long time in coming! Edit: The latest version of Quicktime for Leopard is 7.7, TenFourFox goes up to 45.5.1 which is an important security fix released just 5 days ago. SATA III drives like your SSD don't really agree with the G5 firmware, I had the same problem with a SanDisk SSD. I would recommend using a SATA II SSD like Intel 320 (confirmed working in my quad-core G5).

How did you get on the Internet? I Sarfari blocks me on the G5. Something about requesting http and only getting an https reply.

I've the same model dual 1.8 CPU, I just use it only for making music, it's still pretty good at that.

Ive got 2 dual 1.8 power pc mac pros in the closet.. i try to use them once in a while but the performance on todays demanding web is abysmal... fans like jet engines while it struggles to play a youtube video.... no thanks.. a beautiful machine whose time has Long passed..

I was given a G5 tower a year ago. It sat around all this time and I finally purchased everything I need to fire it up. I have everything connected. I got the tone when I started it up. All I have on the screen is a file with a question mark and a smiley face. I can't get the DVD drive to open. I'm stuck. Can anyone viewing this video help?

You need to install leopard on the hard drive. If it powers on, you can lower the dvd drive door with your fingers and press the open button on the bottom right side of the dvd drive. Then drop the leopard dvd in it and let it boot

F12 on your keyboard to eject the dvd drive ( long press the f12 )
