That's literally everything today... cookouts, 4th of July gatherings, concerts, sports games. People these days just can't seem to celebrate or get together in groups with getting wasted, loud and obnoxious. The biggest lie ever told is- "society isn't getting worse, you just hear about it more."

@petergriffin383 I agree with most of what you say until the end. Plenty of people have been murdered, just like the young man represented in this trial. I'm 50 and grew up next to a lake in Texas, and I remember this stuff going on as a child. People have been killing people since the dawn of time in horrendous ways.

The older guy had all the time in the world to walk away. I don’t care what anyone says to you, you don’t have the right to physically assault people. He started the physical altercation by hitting the woman. Teenagers are dumb but this man was old enough to not engage in this altercation. Someone had already broke up the physical altercation before he decided to start stabbing people. I’m all for self defense but in now way did it appear to be a life or death situation for the old guy. He was clearly impaired (as were almost all of them) and was not thinking correctly. There’s also consequences for his actions and he deserves to go to jail.

The camera man then says "YOURE LOOKING AT LITTLE GIRLS?! WHAT?!" While laughing. Everyone aged 36 and younger know full well what that kid was doing- I'm pretty sure many of us engaged in that behavior (we used to call it trolling in my day) when we would intentionally repeat an inflammatory remark as if that's what we heard- this is to get a rise out of someone or to mildly make them uncomfortable or embarrassed. It was a party out there, everyone’s going tubing and hanging out, everyone’s DRUNK and basking in the sun which makes them drunker faster. Then throw in the weed that some people don’t remember smoking and others had just a few puffs or “a little bit”. It’s sad all around but the shit memory makes a lot of sense. He also stabs at least 3 people in the heart/lung area under the left arm. Thats a pretty strategic place to stab a person one time...but 3 times?? Where does a normal guy learn these things?? I thought about that too... in that pose one can do much harm to others... maybe he did marshal arts at one time... the whole incident is very tradgic and devastating... even if he was angry at thd teens and the women and was scared of many people sourrounding him, he could have acted differntly and try to deescalate himself... he seemed to let his rage out on these people he stabed and want revenge maybe mixed with anxiety? Hard to tell what was in the mans mind at the time... do we know if he was intoxicated aswell... Sadly so many involved had been intoxicated.... But what this man did... to me it was not only selfdefence.... he showed no remorse right after the incident, he tried to mislead the police by asking them questions as if he was not involved, he did nothing to help the victims , he did not call 911, he through the weapon away .. to me he was acting in parts like someone who amok runs... a lot happend in this incident... lam so sorry for that boy who lost his life and for the orhers who got injured so serverly... lam glad they all survived... and even if they made mistakes too... BUT nothing gives that man the right to murder and injure these people to that extend.... to me he is guilty... he did the most harm to others... But sadly all had some part to it and it escaleted even if for some the intention was to deescalate.... l would not really want to be in that jury... that is not so easey to rule on...

It looked like he had a flashback of working at a prison camp or something. The look in his eyes and they way his posture was looked like a deranged lunatic. He definitely wasn't in fear. He was trying to teach these kids a lesson. He's definitely going to prison for most likely the rest of his life. There no way he reached in his pocket and got the knife out that quick. This guys the son of the bar owner and brother of the other man that beat on the defendant. Both of these men were bouncers at the family bar. This guy just testified he works a job in "Recovery". A "sweet" term for being a repossession man. In other words, another confrontational type job, that he gets to push people around and even get violent if need be, while sneaking in and repossessing peoples vehicles. The father lied, acting as if his adult sons went in to deescalate the situation. Fact is, both his adult sons beat on the defendant. Something these former bouncers are used to doing. And how convenient he has "black outs" and cant remember things. And seizures. If thats the case, is he still allowed to operate a tow truck being a motor vehicle? The defense screwed up by not asking him that. The defendant had 6, 17-18yr old young men, and 5 additional adults confronting him in a violent way. Hope they learned at least one lesson: Feeling "entitled" doesnt do you a bit of good in real life. Being a male "Karen" never helps a situation. They provoked this man, no doubt about it. Adrenaline got flowing, and a knife came out. The defendant IMO never planned to stab anyone. It happened fast, and it was over. The young generation may act and talk like this to people online all the time, hell I see it all the time. But if they do it in "real life" you best be ready to suffer the real consequences. They're despicable and cowardly for treating the defendant the way they were treating him PRIOR to any knife coming out. Now they live with the consequences, of their actions contributing to the death of their friend. Everyone loses here. There is no winner. I sure hope young people learn something from this case.

Even the guy who was stabbed (RIP), he attacked the Older man FIRST. Yes, he was clearly in their space but he didn't stab UNTIL all of them were pushing him down the water and assaulting him in various ways. He didn't even touch the girls even if they accused him of being a creep. Tragic. 😢 Alcohol and violence combined.

Why did he punch a woman? He had every opportunity to walk away? This defendant told him to leave and he stabbed him twice. There were not holding him against his will. He just kept stabbing whatever was moving, they were around him yes. But they all were not piled on him beating him. So when you are called horrible names it’s okay to stab 4 people, one who is dead? Self defense does not allow for you to continue to stab and stab and stab. Why did he punch her? Why did he not leave? Flight of fight and he chose to fight and a young man is dead. Let like sink in!

Probably the ratchet girl tried to push him and when he knocked her hand away , all the punks started with the "OMG he hit a woman!" routine. She obviously wasn't punched or slapped in the face like they are saying she was (but didnt see it or was too drunk to remember it).

WTF? Did you hallucinate while watching the video when they were literally beating him into the water after yelling to everyone that he's a child rapist and inciting a mob on him? People like you should experience something like that and see if you fear for your life when getting punched by everyone and pushed down into the water when you're trying to get up. You're insane

Please pay attention to the demeanor of this kid, and the demeanor of the defendant, the defendant doesn’t have the attitude of a murder. But an attitude of a person that is being accused , bullied and humiliated.

Miu’s reaction to the cops tells me this was NOT self defense at all. He knew he hurt people and badly. Calm , cool, collected he stars I hear someone got stabbed and I look like the guy who did it. That statement lost his self defense case.

You don’t kill someone because they taunt or call you a bad name. If you are 54 yr old and have acquired enough wisdom over the years, you walk way, not pull out a knife and kill. Leave the idiot drunk teens alone. They weren’t a rouge gang of hoodlums, robbing people, threatening people. They were just being annoying. Besides, EVERYONE was dinking that day on the river. Uhhh, get a hold of your logic. Nicolae took a life.
