@@Blank00 5C owner here - the case still had important utility - the plastic could still form rough gouges you could feel with the hand. For one; the case (and by extension most silicone cases) prevented drops to begin with, and prevented gouges to the plastic when dropped. Also Apple’s black silicone case showing the yellow of my 5C is still an aesthetic I appreciated far more than my later space gray SE1 in Apple black leather case and even a fair bit more than my current yellow XR bare.

Lether sleeve its even worse The original idea was to protect the full iPhone 12, but with 2 holes (time and microphone) totally useless bc iphone 12 doesnt have always on display When getting a call you can only see who’s calling, you must take part the phone out the case to answer the call, ah but if you place the phone again the call will cut off. 130DOLLARS

Amazing to me that the all iPhones older than the 6 have just been IMEI blocked in Australia on the 28th of Oct. I remember when they came out like it was yesterday. You can sometimes tell a 5C that had been used in the offical case. The exposed parts of the phone would fade so that when the case was removed you can see circles.

Oddly enough this case doesn't trigger my trypophobia. If the pattern wasn't uniform and the case was thicker than it is then maybe. Uneven holes, lotus pods, bugs/frogs with eggs on its back are different stories.

The 5C is a blatant display of Apple's arrogance. Premium money for a half-baked phone and a half-empty case. They learned their lesson in the iPhone XR but slowly backpedalled during 11 and SE 2&3.

I had this iPhone as a temporary replacement after my 5s broke in July 2016, it lasted till January 2018 when I made a poor attempt at repairing it which caused the whole phone to stop working entirely. I can’t remember what went wrong exactly. When I got my 5c in August 2016, I remember updating it to iOS 9 from iOS 7 which I still regret to this day as I didn’t realise how an iOS 7 5c would be rare or anything like that.

5C is under appreciated. And it doesn’t need a case since it’s plastic and not glass. It also has a bigger battery than the regular 5. Being the only plastic iPhone makes it unique and there used to be a time where Apple plastic felt very premium back in the iPod and MacBook non pro days. I’d actually like to see them move away from glass backs. I always have to put a case over it anyway to protect it from shattering.

If they had the dots start at the top it would blend in nicely with the hole for the camera, and then it could stop short of the bottom and the iPhone label on the iPhone could be covered by the solid case with the Apple logo 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think with a bit of redesigning, this type of case will match perfectly with the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus given how iPhones nowadays no longer have the iPhone name and the serial info printed near the bottom of the back of the phone. It will actually look finished and well thought out as opposed to the 5C where the holes showed those info but it’s cut, so it just looks unfinished.

God, I too had an otterbox for my 4S and I’m so glad the trend has gone towards minimalist cases now lol although my friend also had an otterbox on his too and it survived a car running it over at 35 mph, so the protection was well worth the price tag 😂

I actually used to own the non-smartphone “predecessor” of the LG Wing way back in the day. Instead of having another touchscreen on the bottom when swiveled open, it was just the number buttons and all the arrow keys, OK button, etc… I really liked it TBH

I also had the blue 5C but I had the yellow case like this. It was actually quite funky and felt nice in the hand. Often I carried it naked as well, but it developed loads of micro scratches over time.

When the 5C came out, on my next trip to the Apple Store I would check it out even though I would buy a iPhone 5. When I first saw and held the display model, I saw a chip in the plastic in the corner on one and a crack in the corner on the other. Immediately I knew this was going to be a failure. Didn’t take long for it to happen. The C stood for “cheap” and I was scratching my head why Apple would even make a third rate phone like this to begin with when everything they sell is premium.

We both loved it because it showed the fun colors we had picked out through it which was all we really cared about Also the plastic was amazing for us because we definitely both dropped them quite often but neither of our phones ever broke

The nice thing about the 5c was that you weren't scared to drop it. I had the 4S which was the most beautiful iPhone ever, but if you dropped that you'd easily crack it. I had the 5 before the 5c but I didn't like the metal back at all. So my wife got my 5 and I got a 5c

I never bought this for my former iPhone 5C. The protective cover should protect, but this cover has holes, so the back cover of the phone may get scratched at the holes. The iPhone 5c was Apple's most iconic phone. The only one with a plastic shell?

I loved mine!!! Got mine in March 2014, was my first iPhone. I had the green 5C but at first made the mistake of getting the blue case and it was way too Smurfie for me, so they let me return it and I got the black one. It made that green pop, very art deco BUT in Canada, I wish I had paid the extra $100 to get the 5S because my 5C started to slow down after around 1.5 years and I even had to change the battery and I think it was the last 32 Bit iPhone and the 5S was 64 and more future-proofed

No, I DON'T care how many people Apple convinced that "let's fire the design team as well as Scott and claim that the resulting cancer of unintuitive flat cancer is "sleek and modern". Discoverability, intuitivity and detail were all thrown aside, and we STILL have yet to get it back. It's a BIT there again in macOS as of Big Sur but it's still a far cry from the intuitive skeuomorphic design that Steve and Scott rightfully made. I loved my green 5c . I used it until Rogers Sim cards weren't comparable with them anymore in 2023. It served me well, and held up just as good for a budget cell. My friend still uses his 5c to this day😊proof you don't need the biggest and the best for it to get the job done.

This was such a piece of garbage. I don't know why you thought it was weird for the 5C not to have touch ID, it was not cheap technology at the time and was relatively new, so they could not just include something like that and keep the price the way it was. It's the same reason that they had to use plastic, and just the fact it wasn't an existing design, made it more expensive. That's because they had to create a new design, and thus make all new machines to create the units. The last SE's have always had good features because they used existing old bodies that did not require them to create anything new to make them.
